It was a very warm day, so he got to splash around in the water play area for the first time ever -- and he absolutely loved it! Watching him laugh and enjoy the sprays and shallow water made the whole trip so special. If you're a mom looking for a fun, free place to hang out with your toddler, this is the spot. There's plenty of room to run around, great shaded areas, and lots of picnic tables so you can easily pack a lunch or snacks and make a day of it. It's also perfect for small birthday parties -- you can set up your own little celebration without any hassle. Quick tip: You do need a reservation for weekends, but Monday through Friday no reservation is needed. Be sure to check their website for updates and availability. We had such a relaxed and enjoyable time. It's a wonderful, low-key park that's toddler-friendly and free. Highly recommend it for other families with little ones! We'll definitely be back soon.

In the summer, there's a splash pad and even a water slide. There are different sections to play in, including a small baseball area, swings and a zip line. The perimeter is fenced in so kids can't run off out of the area. The bathrooms are clean and spacious, with plenty of room to change after the water play. It is adjacent to another park, so there is plenty of parking nearby. If you've got kids, this park is definitely worth a visit! There are paved pathways so it's easy to push a stroller or to bike or roller skate throughout this park. There is a good amount of parking for your car depending on which park entrance you choose. There's lots of nature life and greenery here so it makes for a fun place to go on a walk or have a picnic with the family - there is both large grass areas available and a plethora of picnic tables.

It's backed up and center of the canyon mountains in the back. One of my fav new park. It's really nice here. Had a playdate here on Sunday 1.07.24. Has 2 pickle ball courts and a basketball. Great for bike riding around the park or walking. They have a gazebo w lots of tables and benches. When we came it was a bit breezy. Saw a few people bring kites to fly. Love that idea. Lots of field space to do that. I'll be bringing my kite here next time. Box Canyon Park has A *Little Library" available for a good read while spending time at the park or can donate a book if you'd like when coming here. Very clean park along w the restrooms and it's near the playground. Not far at all. They restroom only has 2 stalls in the women's bathroom. Has a soap dispenser. Only street parking available. We were here for 2 hours and seemed like a lot to do for kids. Will definitely be visiting more in the future. Box Canyon park is a Win!

Expect to wait about one hour between games during peak hours. - Restrooms don't have paper towels. - There's only one drinking water fountain here. No water bottle refill station. - Only one seated toilet in the men's restroom. - I don't like the fence design surrounding the pb courts. Have to walk/run all the way around to get to the court you're next on. One or two doors along the fence would've been nice.

And it's really well-maintained. The rubber mats aren't good shape. They have the areas pretty well separated for a little kids and big kids. You've got the big kid swings over by the big kids playground in the small kid swings over by the small kid playground in between there is a rock climbing station And a small little house with a dirt patch for kids to play in. Game changer though? Did someone say zip line? There was a line of kids waiting to give themselves a chance at swinging across the zip line. Definitely a new staple for the family. Also, plenty of shade parking.

Poison Hemlock lines trail leading to the redwoods. The redwoods are beautiful and worth the walk…read more Avoid touching the Poison Hemlock which can cause welts on skin or death if eaten. Purple and green stems on white flowers are indicating this is poison hemlock. Water on a small area near end of trail is near poison hemlock and should also be avoided. The Redwoods are gorgeous! Many lovely birds. Just beware even among them some small sprouts of poison hemlock is growing. The signage explaining the redwoods is fascinating. It is lovely. Stay safe and warm kids because there is no signage indicating the danger explicitly.

Have a few playgrounds along w some gazebo available with picnic tables under the gazebo. It's a pretty nice clean park. With lots of trees, shadings and a great walking cemented sidewalk. You can walk from Carbon Canyon Park to go see the beautiful Redwoods. Lots of tennis courts available at this park. There is a parking fee since it's a regional park.

Well at least they did with us. I've also been to several weddings here, it's a really nice venue. Especially if people put lights up and have a dusk wedding OMG Parking is free, cheaper than therapy, wonderful break from the rat race. This is by far my favorite place in Orange County to just unplug.
