This store quite literally attempted to scam me…read more On June 5, 2026, I called for a quote to repair a flat tire on my bike. I was quoted approximately $32 for the tube and labor. I brought my bike in, and after the repair was completed, an employee wheeled it out front. I personally saw that the flat tire had been fixed. Because I live nearby, I told the employees I would drive my car home and walk back to pick up the bike and ride it home. Shortly after leaving, I received a text message from the store stating that the tire supposedly was not holding the new tube well and that they recommended replacing the tire for an additional $35. They asked for approval before proceeding. I responded, "I'll be there soon," specifically because I wanted to discuss the issue in person before authorizing any additional work. When I returned, I discovered that the tire had already been replaced and I was being charged for the additional work. The employee claimed that my message, "I'll be there soon," was interpreted as approval to install the new tire. At no point did I authorize the additional repair. What makes this even more concerning is that my original tire was apparently fine when I saw the completed repair, yet by the time I returned to the store it had somehow become unusable and needed replacement. I was never given a clear explanation for how that happened. To make matters worse, when I questioned the unauthorized charge, a taller male employee responded in a dismissive and condescending manner, repeatedly saying things like, "It's only $35," instead of addressing the fact that the work had been performed without my approval. The store eventually provided only a partial refund for the unauthorized charges. Performing additional work without clear customer authorization and then minimizing the customer's concerns is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I will not be returning.

First time visiting Black Star Canyon Wilderness Park to check out the "falls" and it was just as…read moreexpected. By doing a little bit of research, we learned it was best to go early - my husband and I got there at 7:45am in October on a Saturday and the lot was already starting to fill up. When we left at 11:30, the lot was very full. There is technically plenty of parking but the busier it is, the farther you would have to go just to get to the trailhead. We had a very good weather for hiking. It was overcast for the first hour or so, and there is shade when hiking along the creek, and it was partly cloudy on our way out. If hiking during the afternoon, I would recommend bringing twice as much water as you think you would need. Overall, the trail was long but not too difficult. The first 3 miles are fairly easy/moderate and only the very end being somewhat difficult because it is steep. We think the total hike was about 7-8 miles round-trip and took 3.5-4 hours at a moderate pace. In October 2025, the falls and creek were dried out after a hot summer and only one storm in months. It made crossing the creek a non-event (only a little mud and puddles in a few areas), but it also meant the waterfalls were non-existent. The trail was still very scenic and a fun hike. The end of the trail is still very beautiful when dry. Note, there are lots of mountain bikers so be alert and stay to the right side of the trail. No bathrooms, trash cans, or water fountains but still very clean; thanks to the regular hikers who help to clean up the trails. Please be kind to others and respectful to nature. Pack it on, pack it out.

Chino Hills State Park has become one of my favorite places in Southern California, especially…read moreduring wildflower season. After only about a ten-minute hike, I was rewarded with incredible views of green rolling hills stretching toward snow-covered mountains in the distance. The contrast was stunning and felt more like something out of a painting than Orange County. What makes this park special is how quickly you can find yourself surrounded by open space and quiet. You don't need to be an experienced hiker to enjoy it. Even short walks can lead to beautiful scenery, wildlife sightings, and some fantastic photography opportunities. This visit will always be particularly meaningful to me because I brought my Golden Retriever, Christy, with me. Looking back, it ended up being her last adventure before mobility issues began limiting her ability to get out and explore. I'm grateful we were able to share a day like this together while she was still able to enjoy the trails, the fresh air, and the sunshine. For me, Chino Hills State Park isn't just a beautiful place to hike. It's a place tied to one of my favorite memories with a very good dog. I'll always be thankful for that.

The drive into the park and throughout can be a bit sketchy at parts because there are times when the road is so narrow, only one car can pass at a time. They have small turnouts, but it got interesting at some places. You also have to watch out for hikers that are parking down the road and walking into the park to avoid the entrance fee. The ranger at the entrance was very friendly and helpful. He handled the exchange for the $10 entrance fee. You can pay online with their QR Code, but I didn't have service, and they also charge you an additional $0.55 service fee for that service. There are restrooms right at the entrance. The facilities are well-kept and stocked, which we all appreciated. We parked near the Rolling M Ranch Campground. Looks like a decent camping area. They don't allow campfires though. There were campsites available. We started out hiking Ranger Ridge Trail, then swung down to Raptor Ridge Trail. Whew! My quads and calves were BURNING! Those are some steep climbs there! These particular trails are also very narrow with a ton of overgrowth. I was glad I wore long-sleeves, but should have worn pants because the brush tore my legs up a bit. There's also a ton of foxtails and they kept getting stuck in the top of our shoes. Ouch! When we swung back down to Telegraph Canyon Trail, that was wide enough for us all to walk together and had nice spots of shade. That trail was well maintained. There are a ton of hiking trails here. I'd be willing to keep coming back to explore more!

No email after a week, so I emailed to ask the status and was told the main extra (shock absorber post) was being shipped there and would arrive within a week, and asked me to pick it up and bring it back in when the part arrived. I wrote back that I don't drive unless I have to (medical), have never ridden an e-bike so would be transporting it home to learn to ride it, and so asked him to store it until the part was in and it was a full build. Scott accommodated, and I got a fully built PERFECT bike for me yesterday. Scott helped me load it into my SUV (a tight fit, so grateful for his help) and I shook his hand. Got it home, unloaded it, and am more than excited to learn a new healthy habit. Thank you, Scott!
