The place was underwhelming. I had higher expectations for this place based on the Google reviews and photos. I was really looking forward to the chilaquiles.
It's a small, cozy place with four tables outside and several two-seaters inside. When we came, the owner was dining with his family and friends, so a full 8-10 seats were taken up. While we waited for a table to open up, we ordered matcha latte and cold brew to drink. Both were meh - could be a lot better.
As far as our mission to try out chilaquiles everywhere we go and find the best one, this one is far down the list. They were so peppery, never in my life had I tried a chilaquiles that had so much pepper! I wasn't a fan of the salsa verde either. I missed that tanginess to salsa verde. I did enjoy how crunchy the chips stayed, though.
We also ordered the Caimancito Toast, which was also only okay.
I wanted to like this place more than I did, especially since they apparently specialized in chilaquiles. They had at least 6 different types of chilaquiles. This one was a miss! read more
