Such an amazing find... My better half and I were wandering around the Alserbachstrasse area this morning trying to get a few things done and we came across this place; we stared in the window for a few minutes wondering if it was open .. what we were fixated on, though was a huge coffee roaster. Could it be possible? Somewhere that is roasting fresh beans in Wien? Yup, it's possible. A delightful man came out, offered us a brochure and then offered us a coffee. We gratefully accepted the option to leave the frigid wind for a few minutes and try their fare; it's very very limited, lets get that out of the way right now. We both had espresso, but this was not your ordinary espresso, it was melt in your mouth, unbelievable, not a trace of acid wonderful creamy goodness. Hubby and I are coffee snobs. I admit that. But this blew us out of the water.
The friendly gentleman explained to us that they had just opened two weeks ago, that they had the roaster all set up and that a grinder was on the way. They are still getting settled, but had a nice selection of house roasted beans to bring home and try. We bought a lovely bag that will be gone all too quickly, necessitating a return trip in short order.
Seating is limited; two tables, four places at each. It looks like they have a little room to expand. Very limited hours right now, but I'm hoping they will adjust.
The tag line on their brochure is "For a coffee that one can enjoy."
I couldn't say it better myself. read more
