    Super Carne Asada Burrito
    Passmore M.

I was originally on my way to Sol Food, when El Burrito Jalisciense caught my eye. Sol Food has a lot hype but I always like to try lesser known restaurants like this whenever I can get a chance. When I walked in, the cashier immediately greeted me and I was excited by the variety in the menu! The cashier gave me her recommendations and I decided to go with the super carne asada burrito. I love that they have an option. to get either refried or black beans as well! I went with the black beans and I was very happy with my decision! The burrito was delicious and one of the best ones i've had since moving to California 2 months ago! The next time I am in san rafael, I will be returning as this place was just delicious.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would !!! Under new owners by the way! I came all the way from Hayward! This is my second weekend coming! I don't mind the drive when it comes to some good ass food. Super friendly staff, food came on time to my table and you can tell everything is fresh. I also had to steal a couple of my boyfriends nachos I can say my fav Mexican restaurant by far. I ordered menudo, my boyfriend nachos de al pastor and one of the kids got nachos and the other menudo as well. Hand made tortilla, and they hooked it up with the carne. Had to order torta de milanesa for to go too good food, good people and extremely nice welcoming environment!

Located in downtown San Rafael the ownership here invested heavily in this restaurant to create an authentic Irish pub. We feel comfortable the second we walked in. Due to some food, allergies it's not always easy for me to find food that restaurants other than maybe one or two dishes on a menu. I was amazed that there were nine or 10 different dishes that I would have wanted to order. I can literally come back eight more times and order something different and enjoy it each time. The food was great! The setting was authentic. And the fact they have soft serve for dessert brings us to a 5+ rating!! Our server was great. And there was a second server managing cocktails. My only complaint was we never saw the bus boy and had to ask for our place to be removed even after they served his dinner. Highly recommend the Burren House if you're north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Note, they don't take reservations. But it's worth the chance of a table. Oh and they have live music too!

I honestly didn't realize how much I'd enjoy playing pinball until coming here--there aren't many spots that have that kind of unique feature anymore, and it really added to the experience. I went for a Yelp Elite event, and it was great. The owner was there and super welcoming, and his staff were genuinely nice and attentive. We were given bracelets that gave us access to two drinks, which was a fun self-pour experience. That said, it would've been helpful to get a quick tip on pouring (like tilting your glass) beforehand--foam can sneak up on you fast , especially with so many people around. Because it was busy, we were also given a card that allowed unlimited access to the games, which was awesome and made the night even better. I definitely enjoyed my time here. The owner also mentioned that you can rent individual tables or even the whole venue for events, which is something I'd absolutely consider in the future. I'll definitely be back.

Stateroom Burger ($20): Cheese is not included and is an extra $2 (???). It was stacked though and hubby could only eat half before he was stuffed! The food is pretty good. We enjoyed a couple appetizers (bulgogi fries and chili lime cauliflower) and then their wings. Friends ordered nachos, but didn't finish them...the cheese was a cheese sauce so the chips were soggy. Our server was fantastic. She was very friendly, helpful, and very attentive despite having so many tables and it being packed. I'd go back here again, but I'd go earlier just to ensure a table.

Tye, our server, was friendly and kind and on top of refilling waters, offering drink suggestions, and grabbing to-go boxes before we even asked for them! I had the chicken parmigiana, which was light and flavorful, and the steamed spinach that went with it was delicious (and I HATE cooked spinach, but gave it a try and actually enjoyed it for the first time ever!) The andouille sausage that was served with the pesto risotto was smoked and you could really taste it, and the spicyness was just perfect. The pesto sauce was heavy on the pine nuts in the best way. It wasn't oily or heavy on the basil or garlic like a lot of pesto sauces can be, and that left the risotto so light and almost citrusy. My cousin had the harvest garden dish, and they were stunned by how delicious it was. As a vegetarian, they are particular about their veggies, but everything was 'perfectly cooked'. At the end of the meal we were surprised by the panna cotta with the fruit remoulade, which we devoured in like three minutes haha! We really enjoyed all of the food, the service, and the ambiance. We only wish we lived closer, but might make the 90+ mile trip from Sacramento just for the amazing food now and then.

Both were fried to perfection and we loved how the sauces complimented the meal so well. The chicken's sauce was spicy, savory and you could really taste the Calabrian chili kicking through. The rockfish's sauce was tangy and was perfect with the fish. The salad was also the perfect side for the meal. Portion were huge and we were able to eat it for another meal.

The food is often sold out by the time I come but I finally got to taste Lou's and I'm blown away. I got: 1. Fried Chicken Spicy: Sorry I don't know the actual names of what I ordered but it was with the orange sauce on top of katsu like fried chicken. This was a bit spicy but not bad at all and this is coming from a wimp who can barely tolerate siracha. The chicken is so crunchy and juicy. I'd compare the sauce to almost like an indian curry like (but not really). 2. Fried Chicken Green sauce: This sauce tasted more like carribean or coconut-y style. Both this and the spicy one was delicious but I actually liked this one more. I loved the coconut/creamy flavor of the sauce and it went so well with the freshly fried chicken. Overall, hands down the best asian food in Marin. There isn't even a question or comparison. The portions are huge, the flavors are fresh and innovative. The service is also great. The shop itself can it a bit hard to find as it isn't really labeled. Its just a small shack in the parking lot of Scotty's Market.
