After ordering, our drinks were brought out, but the food still wasn't at the table at 6:45. We asked for crayons so the children could color, but they were not forthcoming. I got up after 20 minutes to get the crayons myself. I ran into the waitress and reminded her that we needed crayons. She went and got them. We talked about leaving and paying for our drinks. The waitress came and told us there was a "glitch in the system and our ticket didn't print." That was an explanation without meaning. Our food began to arrive in pieces. It took another 15 minutes for everyone at the table (4 adults and 2 children) to get their food. Someone in management came out and comped my daughter's appetizer. Upon paying the bill, there was an automatic 18% tip added to the bill. We are good tippers and would have left at least that much (not because the service was good and not because we loved the food.) It wasn't the money I objected to, it was taking my right to determine what we would leave as a TIP (to insure promptness). It really ate at me. I called the restaurant where a women answered and told me the manager was too busy to speak to me, but she would have him call me back if I told her my problem. She became snippy and rude as I explained my issue. Later, she called back and in the same short and irritated way told me that the manager wouldn't talk to me, but they would return the tip to my credit card. I told her that was not the goal I had in mind. I wanted to let the owner/manager know that I don't like the policy of adding a tip without consent. She told me the policy was printed on the menu (I guess I was looking for food and missed the legal ease.) I suggested that the policy should be on a sign as you enter the restaurant so that people don't feel violated when you assign them an amount to leave the staff. She said, "So, do you want the refund?" I said, "yes", which kind of surprised me, but her attitude sent me over the edge. I provided my credit card information and will NEVER return to this restaurant!

The restaurant was pretty crowded and the river view was amazing at dusk. We started with the Manila Clams and they were really fantastic. The fresh drawn butter and broth were excellent. The sourdough bread that we were served made a great sponge. The Boomtown Syrah was a perfect choice with my order. I decided to try the Rockfish and was not disappointed. The fish was perfectly cooked with a great Cajun spice that for heat didn't take away from the dish. My teammates opted for the fish and chips and 8oz sirloin ( see pictures ). The service was a bit slow for a Wednesday night and our waiter had tables all over so he was definitely a bit task saturated.

One out of six oysters was rotten during BS "oyster fest." Supposed to get free apps with Key Card fromCourtyard hotel next door but BIG SURPRISE that was not validated. I don't live here so I don't know what has been going on over the past 12 months but obviously there's been nothing good about it. Absolute crap. Worst coffee I have ever had with no apologies and she knew that it was cold and old. Of course I didn't get service for 20 minutes after that so I had to go to the bar to get a new cup. What was the difference after that? The rest of my party left because they couldn't take waiting any longer for me to settle the crappy bill. Absolute crap. Horrible service. She didn't understand our orders. I even asked if she wanted to write the order down and she said no. What makes you think that would be correct...? because it wasn't. No one is impressed by an order that's incorrect because you are trying to impress by not writing it down. Absolute stupidity. Get a pad of paper. No one cares if your order is memorized. No one is impressed if you don't write it down and it's wrong. Unbelievable. Crème brûlée was awful. Just pudding in a tiny dish with a brown burnt top. It wasn't crème brûlée with a crackly crust...and the portion is very small! If you were looking for crème brûlée, do not order it because that is not what it is. Absolute crap. Especially don't go later than 630 otherwise you'll be stuck there until 10 o'clock and then they're already trying to clean up after that and you're screwed out of anything fresh or good. Will never ever come back. And I do a LOT of business here. You SUCK. And believe me I'm going to tell everybody I possibly can. Obviously well past complacency. Clearly showing that you're not working for good service or good food anymore. You shouldn't ride on your laurels. I hope you go downhill fast because you absolutely deserve it. Additionally, tell your waitress not to call me "hon." that is not my name. My friends wanted to know why all the people here have blue hair. I'm guessing because they were there at 4:30 for the earlybird specials.
