I had a lime margarita and my husband had a strawberry one, both on the rocks. They were made from artificially flavored mixes and, honestly, were quite terrible. Slim pickings for Mexican restaurants in Hopkinsville. Especially when one owner runs the other…read moretwo. -Why Senor Lopez does it for me?- 1. Prompt service when you walk in the door. No waiting 5 minutes to be seated (when they're vacant) and another 15 to get your drink order in. 2. It may be on the small side, but it's nice on the interior. No nasty, sticky walls or booths with rips in the seams. 3. Chips are perfect, but I admit the salsa could use some work. Cheese dip made up for the salsa, however. 4. The usual large portions and my taco salad was not soggy. Thank goodness. 5. They give you time to relax and enjoy your meal..unlike others that want to push out the door when part of your plate is finished. Keep calm and let me order another margarita. Do you want a decent tip or not? 6. Cheaper than El bracero. Tastes better too. One minor gripe I have is, I wasn't sure what was with the black pepper in my beef. It was still good, but it's presence was unnecessary. I'm glad I finally discovered this place, and wish I had been giving them my service a long time ago. I'll be back!

Fantastic Yelp find!!!!!…read more We were in town for a wedding and we came here for a quick lunch before we went to the hotel to get ready. I thought the set up was great. The cooks line, serving line, and cashier station are all neatly packed into one area in the center. It's very efficient and affords you the ability to look into where everything is made right there in front of you. My wife got a quesadilla and he let her put in every freaking topping he had in it. He even laughed and said, that's how you do it!!! She loved it!! My carnitas taco was the best taco I have ever had! No shit!! It was freaking fantastic!!!!! Tender! Juicy!!! Flavorful!!!!! Just perfect with those salsas that they have!! I just wish I lived closer so I could go here again on the regular. If you see this on your radar... do not sleep on it! It's a great quick service taco shop! Love!!!!

This is one of the BEST restaurants in Eddyville. Some of the dishes are more authentic than…read moreothers, but so far everything I have tried is tasty. One of the big things for me, is how is the salsa and do they have carnitas. The salsa is tasty and flavorful and does not taste overly processed or from a can. And yes, they do have carnitas. Carnitas is a pork dish where the pork is slow cooked and cut in to chunks then fried for a crispy finish. It is usually served with a sauce and tortillas. The pork was not only tender, but it did have the flavor profile that I expect when I order carnitas. The other great thing about Los Agava is the margaritas. There is usually a margarita of the month. This month was banana so I stuck with my usual blue margarita. WOW. These are some strong drinks. If you have any more than 2, you might want to give your car keys to a friend.

So I got chilles Pablanos with green sauce, and believe you me it is very very spicy. I thought it was the pepper but it was the sauce. I should have stuck with the rancheros sauce. But the flavors were spot on! My husband who grows his own peppers and makes pepper jelly was really impressed with the spice. The wait staff is very attentive but didn't think the sauce was spicy. They do make their own sauces with tomatillos so they are probably used to it! This has become our new favorite place, usually not loud and crowded but I bet it can be on weekends. We usually go on a weekday between lunch and dinner. If you are in or near Eddyville, Ky give them a try!
