Nice little Mexican food restaurant in Cadiz. They were a little understaffed and our server was swamped but he kept his cool and did an awesome job. The space is pretty basic, hasn't changed in decades but it's homie and definitely a small town vibe. The food selection is pretty par with normal Mexican restaurants in the region. I ordered the steak fajitas and they were great. Not too salty, fresh sides and good tortillas. Overall it's a solid spot in a small town. read more

We will come back. We went here on a Monday night and it was hopping! Very friendly service. I highly recommend the chunky quacamole made to order. I had fish tacos and loved that they were individually wrapped in foil because it made it easy to take home the one I couldn't eat. The black beans and rice that came with it were very good. My husband had the steak fajitas and said they were very good. The Margarita was yummy and the prices were fair. It's a friendly place to go. read more

Foods always hot, servers are always friendly and the atmosphere is pretty typical for a Mexican restaurant. We go usually once a week.

Second time here and I will say it was a much better experience than my first time. My biggest issue last time was more around the flavor of the food and the lacking of something. Much better this time around. Thought the taco was good and both the burrito and enchilada were very good. My wife and kids also enjoyed their meal. For a Sunday night, this place was pretty busy but that also might have to do with a lot of other places being closed on a Sunday evening. I'd certainly come again. read more

On the way to Nashville, we pulled off for fuel. My buddy's wife can't eat at fast food restaurants so I pulled up my handy yelp app and found one of the only places that wasn't fast food in the area. I ordered tacos and a burrito. Chips before the meal were good, the cheese dip was ok, salsa I thought was real good. I will say the ground beef in the taco had a bit of a strange taste and didn't settle well in my stomach. That may have been a coincidense but regardless, don't think I would stop their again. read more

Friendly fast service. Meal came so quickly I thought we might be getting some else's dinner. Portions were huge. You won't leave here hungry. Had the Taco Salad with beef. There was a lot of ground beef taco meat in it and no refried beans. I ordered the Tostada beef and the chalupa chicken from the create your own combo menu. We'd just completed a 5 mile hike up in Land Between the Lakes and were driving back to Nashville and saw this place. It was around 5pm when we entered the place. There was only one other table dining at the time. We were having a late lunch and I guess not many people were having an early dinner on a Sunday. We were greeted and sat at a table. The decor in here is average Mexican restaurant, a little drab. We got chips and salsa brought to our table immediately and drink ordered. The chips and salsa were average at best. I'd like a more "homemade" type salsa. The chips were the thicker style and not the "cantina" style. I ordered the chicken quesadilla with cheese on top and Phillip ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla. The food came about about ten minutes after ordering. This place has large portions and hot plates. The chicken in mine was a little chewy. I don't know if the chicken is cooked already then reheated. It also had a curl to it. The rice & beans were average. If you've had them at one Mexican place, you've had them at all of them. The fajita quesadilla was full of onions, peppers & chicken. I loved the cheese sauce on my quesadilla. As our late lunch went on, I noticed this place gets a lot of call in ordered. By the time we left, I'd say the number of call in orders to people dining there was 5 to 1. Our service also declined as the meal went on. Once the food was brought out, I literally had to flag down the server after staring at him talk with the other servers for about ten minutes to get the check. This pace hit the spot after a small breakfast & a long walk, but I doubt I'll ever be back to this place. read more

Great food, great service!! We had their chicken fajitas and tamal. You can tell a lot about a restaurant based on its salsas--ordered some of their tomatillo "salsa picosa" and it was awesome. I'm really spoiled (and thus picky) when it comes to good Mexican food, having grown up in California, traveling Mexico and living right by Nashville's "little Mexico." But as far as gringo-oriented Mexican restaurants go, El Bracero is fantastic. It was so good, in fact, that we went twice in 24 hours while camping at Land Between the Lakes. :) read more

Look, this is a good 3 stars, not a bad 3 stars. It's a clean, pretty simple restaurant, the staff was very polite at attentive. And the food was good. Not mouth watering, knock your socks off, begging for more good, just good. I had the California chicken burrito. It wasn't very big, but still filled me up. Fresh tomatoes and avocado were nice, as was the creamy cheese sauce. The chicken was lacking authentic spices, but it wasn't bad. I don't know how many options there are in Cadiz for Mexican, I was just driving through and was hungry. I wasn't disappointed, and I'd go back if that was my only choice for Mexican. read more

Salsa tasted like it was poured straight out of a diced tomato can. All the meat tasted like canned Hormel stuff.. waitress came over one time and that was to give us our orders.... Came to El Bracero's after leaving another Cadiz restaurant because we could see the cook and they displayed poor food handling practices. This was another huge disappointment!!! The chips and salsa were fine, and I ordered a Long Island Ice Tea, but it looked and tasted like bad lemonade. We weren't really hungry so my hubby and I ordered the California burrito with beef tips to split. The picture on the menu showed a burrito with three big slices of fresh avocado and big slices of tomato with a small portion of rice (see attached picture). When we got our order, it had one slice of old brown spotted avocado and a few pieces of diced tomato with a small burrito (see attached picture). Inside the burrito, the beef tips were pretty dry and not all that flavorful. Really disappointed in what we got, verses what was presented in the picture on the menu. Wasn't a great experience overall, and wouldn't come back again. This is the 3rd restaurant we've tried and we can't seem to find a good restaurant in Cadiz (it was prom night, so Harper House was booked solid) read more

This is my first Yelp review and I'm happy to do so for this establishment. The service was fast and friendly, our group of seven was seated immediately, menus at the ready and drink orders taken a few moments later. Fresh chips, obviously made in-house, were brought to the table while we were perusing the menu, as well as some of the best complimentary salsa I've ever sampled. Our entrées arrived very quickly and despite several substitutions and deletions, everything was exactly as ordered. As a transplanted Southern Californian, I've had my fair share of Mexican food and even after reading the glowing reviews, this unpretentious, little restaurant was a pleasant surprise on our Kentucky vacation. Portions were large, everything was flavorful and served piping hot. Pricing was very reasonable, with most entrées at about $8 with rice, refried beans and Mexican salad. Consistently the best food in Cadiz. The salsa is my favorite, and the wet burrito with beef tips and enchilada sauce is amazing. We were here visiting our daughter and it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. We therefore weren't sure about what to expect here but it was really great! This place is exactly how it looks a small town Mexican place with OK to good food if you just want to pig out. Its cheap, good chips and salsa, and you can both eat for 25bucks. My daughter bought me a birthday dinner here ordered it went to pick up we only live 7 miles away. It's was allot of food great cheese dip and chips the rest of the meal was under cooked and Burt at the same time crazy and the food was tasteless no seasoning no salt not on anything even salsa was like a mashed tomato nothing for flavor. It's hard to mess up a bean burrito and a toastado but my lord they did everything had the wrong meat topping and it's expensive! To much money for something called food and the cheese only was good cause it already wS salted when made but it was thin. The dip and salsa for all we got was a tiny tub about 2oz is all it's the worst birthday dinner and Mexican food I've ever had. I was born raised in plains if Colorado and this is not Mexican food. If had heat or even salted a little durning cooking it would help and I would give a 3star but they need a great cookbook and a real Mexican to explain this food to them. I'll never go back. Will not waste my money or time to try a 2nd time. HORRIBLE food and cooking. read more

Love the food. The food is not the only great thing about this place. The staff all speak English and can easily understand you. The design and decor of the restaurant are not gaudy and obnoxious, but subtle and appealing. The prices in my opinion are very fair for the food and service you receive. read more
