After looking at the menu I decided to get a chicken milanesa provolone style with mash potatoes. I also got fries with eggs on the side. (I saw so many tasty pictures on Instagram..it was hard to decide what style milanesa I wanted) The provolone style milanesa has mozzarella and melted provolone cheese, tomatoe sauce, and oregano. The milanesa was super tasty and crunchy. The combination of the fries, egg, and milanesa in one bite is amazing!!! You have to try it!!! The one person milanesa was a good size for me. I eat a lot so I was so excited when it came out! Plenty of food. If you have a small appetite you could probably share the one person milanesa. If you are okay with sharing your food I believe the one person plate for two people is enough. I ate half the milanesa and took half home and ate it a couple hours later. Very good!!! Such an amazing meal!!! In total I got a maracuya mojito, chicken provolone milanesa, side of fries and eggs for a very reasonable price. I cannot wait to come back!!!

Once, out of curiosity, we ordered the veggie empanadas with the chimichuri sauce and they were sooooo good!! Perfectly fried, fresh and hot and many different fillings. They do have quite a few vegetarian items on the menu. But we didn't get a chance to try them all. The bartender would make any drink we ask for. We asked him to make something with maracuya (passion fruit) and he made this delicious and strong Maracuya Mezcalita. We really enjoyed hanging out at the bar by the pool here!

A nice spot with good food, teas, and snacks. We had a dulce de leche merengue dessert "sandwich" and a couple of empanadas. The empanadas were fried and served up hot. I especially liked the pepper (i forget the name of it.. rasa? rafa?) and cheese. The other dishes looked good and it's cafe home cooking style sandwiches, salads, serrano ham and pasta.

The owners are from Argentina and the menu is written in both Spanish and English. The restaurant serves Argentine wine and brunch/lunch and pastries. The specials board displayed outside the restaurant of daily offerings is what initially drew me in. We weren't very hungry but wanted to sample what they had so we opted to try two empanadas, hot green tea, and this dulce de leche filled meringue cookie. The empanadas were served iced and had a good amount of filling. Heavily fried, the meat one was pleasantly spicy and the cheese and pepper (very interesting pepper I can't recall the unusual name) was very good as well. The tea was brewed fresh and made iced to order. The "cookie" we had was light and although the filling was decadent, I don't believe it was over-the-top sweet. It was cool to see other desserts on the counter which we were unfamiliar with. It took restraint not to order more sweets. The English speaking diners in there claimed the food was delicious and I thought their meals all looked excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. I would return here again if in the area.

The service is quick, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and the food is consistently delicious. Before your meal even arrives, you're served a plate of fresh radishes, cucumber, and lime wedges, plus a selection of toppings including tomatoes, onions, and both a green and red salsa. Unfortunately this location didn't give us the cactus like the other locations did. The red salsa was my favourite, it paired perfectly with the tacos and had just the right amount of heat and flavour. The standout for me was the al pastor taco. The meat was incredibly flavourful with crispy edges, a smoky char, and the perfect balance of savoury spice and sweet pineapple. It was easily one of the best al pastor tacos I had in Playa del Carmen. I also tried the sirloin taco and the chicken breast plate, both of which were excellent. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and the quality was impressive, especially for the price. El Fogón absolutely lived up to the hype. If you're looking for authentic, delicious tacos and grilled meats that won't break the bank, this is a must visit. I loved it so much that I ended up eating at all three locations and every visit was just as good as the last.

My wife and I shared the chicken fajitas, which were excellent. My friend ordered the al pastor fajitas, and his wife had the pork chops--everyone agreed the food was delicious. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food with excellent service and a great atmosphere, I highly recommend El Fogón. We would definitely come back!
