This is a typical Belgian cafe thats great to stop at for a beer or coffee They also have a menu with lasagne, spaghetti, chili, burgers, etc. I usually end up here on Sunday mornings, which is market day just out the front door..
The place was full of character. I say was because it has somewhat changed the last few months. Before the marble table tops had pen and ink, or maybe sharpie sketches all over them, some of them a bit on the 'dirty' side, but funny and interesting. They have been cleaned up. Mind you, the spit and saw dustiness that been tidied up somewhat. Sure, its still interesting but if you had seen it as it was (not too much different from now), then you would shed a tear for loss.
There is an eccentric local artist who hangs out here every now and again and I believe he was responsible for most of the table artwork. Patrick is a big guy who wore a wild looking hat with a feather in it. I haven't seen him there for a bit but then again, I haven't been there much lately either. read more
