Our waitress was friendly and attentive and took our drink order quickly. We ordered a wahacacolada and a mojito, and both were great. For dinner, we ordered the slow-cooked beef burrito, which arrived at our table quickly. The beef was tender and the burrito was very good. While we enjoyed the meal, I wouldn't consider it authentic Mexican cuisine, it has more of a modern twist which is probably what their aiming for anyway. Between the excellent service, great ambiance, tasty drinks, and enjoyable meal, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat in London.

My friend and I ordered chips and guac to share. Unfortunately, the chips were stale and the guac, while fresh and chunky, lacked flavor. It's saving grace were the chili sauces on the table--I especially liked the smoky habanero one. For main, I got a Mexican bowl with chicken and it was yummy! It was a small-normal sized portion but loaded with beans, salsa, pickled onions, guac, and more and left me quite satisfied!

It's named after one of the Mexican presidents who had a notable affinity for decorative hats. Makes sense. I cannot yet comment on the food, though I am sure I will be back to try their tempting burritos and tacos. However, I tried basically all of their happy hour cocktails. The frozen classic margarita along with the un-frozen were the winners for me. The unfrozen definitely tasted more boozy but the ice cold one was perfection. The mojito was solid as well, definitely not skimping on the rum here. I sipped on the Tommy's margarita which was less citrusy (sans the triple sec) and perhaps for those wanting a rougher, less fruity marg. The staff were super helpful explaining the various cocktail varieties and put up with us clinging desperately on to the 2 hour happy hour and buying up double drinks within the last 5 minute grace period. I love the festive, Latino vibe. I also love that one whole side of this place is a bar while another whole side is the burrito assembly-line-cafeteria-kitchen set up. Hats off!

Would I recommend it? Definitely. The plantain, butternut squash, and mushroom tacos were all very unique, flavorful, and beautiful, and the sweet potato burrito was delicious and very filling. The service felt a little off the night we visited only because there was a mix-up in who was supposed to be serving our table, but once our order was in the food came quickly and the bill was easy to pay. I also found it great that they have specific vegan and vegetarian menus, which makes ordering for people with these dietary requirements very straightforward. We took out burritos and I had my steak salad box that I choose instead as a healthier option up the stairs to the restaurant area. To our surprise it was huge, light, spacious and colourful. Much better than downstairs which was a bit confused in its decor. There was a Mexican live band playing, they gave us tap water and as I say the space was huge and vast. And colourful. This was what reminds me of Mexico! The food was good. I always like the quality of their pork and steak so happy with it. Think I'd choose burrito next time. I'm not one for too much salads.
