The positive first: The lime mojito was probably the best I've had. The salsa is close to the best in Goldsboro. My son raved over his birria tacos. That was it... 3 things form the entire meal. The wait time from order to receiving food seemed a little long since there was less than a handful of people when we arrived. The guacamole was edible but not as good as it should be. My younger son and I asked for no cheese sauce on the kids burrito and he got it anyway. Tamales are hard to find and to get them with questionable looking ground beef and beans dumped on them was disappointing. They were okay once I scrapped that off. The refried beans were terrible. The rice was okay and the black beans tasted like they came strait from a can. The deal breaker is when the waiter came and told me he made a mistake. He proceeded to tell me he gave another table my ticket and flashed a signed ticket and proceeded to show me their tab that was almost $5 more and asked me if I would just pay their ticket. He kept saying something about him paying the $5 but he was not saying how and I was put on the spot. I asked him to remove a $2 item on that ticket and agreed just to get it over with. He should have reprinted my ticket and dealt with the mistake behind the scenes.

This place would be hard to find if you don't know where you are going already. When we pulled up, there was only 1 other table of customers inside, not what you want to see from a restaurant at dinner time on a Saturday evening/night. As we were there, the place did fill up a little, which was nice to see. Don't expect much in the way of atmosphere with this place, it is set up in an old truck stop diner, and it looks like they kept the tables and booths that were already there, not sure though. We were greeted and seated immediately, and our waitress was pretty attentive, our drinks were filled as needed without having to ask. Now, the food was ok to good, but would have been better, I believe, if it hadn't sat in the window for several minutes (close to 10 mins is not an exaggeration) while we waited for the last part of our order to be complete, resulting in a lukewarm at best plate being presented. The food had good flavor ( a tad heavy on the onion in my opinion, the salsa was spot on!), I just wish it was delivered hot. And no, I did not bring up the issue, as I honestly didn't want to wait for it to be microwaved or reheated. I'll go back for another try, I mean the food was good enough to overlook some of the shortcomings, for now. On another note, this was something that kinda pushed me towards a "less than stellar" review, was the fact that they charge a 4% fee for use of a debit/credit card to pay. In fairness, this is in fact noted on the check when you get it, but really, who looks at that info at the bottom of check? I know that small scale businesses have to pinch every penny just to stay open sometimes, and 4% can total out to a big number over time, so I can understand it. Again, this kinda bugged me personally, that and the fact that the "suggested" tip amounts are based on the +4% amount, not the actual ordered total.
