Had a rough day at work and being hispanic, what more could i want as a comfort other than…read more. spanish food. it was my first time at pepe's, but will not be the last. was greeted by one of the employees who was very sweet and eager to help. while waiting for my food, there was a man talking and seasoning the chicharrón, and happy while doing it. which made me feel good because it felt almost like an uncle prepping. i got a platter with arroz con gandules and chicharron. i got a side of maduros and 2 empanadas (beef & chicken with cheese). everything was delicious. price was amazing too for so much food. restaurant was clean and comfortable. will definitely recommend and will go back to try their other dishes.

I'm always on a hunt for delicious food. So, after researching food options in the area, I was led…read moreto Pepes. I took a ride over to check the place out. It's a small white building that is nestled into a neighborhood that is easy to pass by if you aren't paying attention. Upon walking in, I was met by a woman who told me she would take my order in a min. I was happy with that response bc I needed time to check out the empanadas and Chicharrhon I spotted immediately. After a short wait, I went with what I recognized immediately. I asked for a chicken and cheese empanada, plus Chicharron platter with yellow rice and beans. You do have the option to have your beans on the side or included in your container. I opted to have mine on the side. After a short wait, I was handed a bag with my items. I immediately ran to the car and opened the platter. I had to try the chicharron. I absolutely LOVED the flavor and crispy pork skin. The meat was tender underneath the skin and had a light salty taste that reminded me of my last trip to D.R. I drove home and couldn't wait to eat everything else. The rice was fluffy and cooked perfectly. Now, the beans.....THE BEANS MADE ME HAVE A SEAT!!! I don't know what the chef/cook uses to make the beans, but all I can say is the beans were by far some of the best I have had in a very long time. The flavor, temperature, etc. was so spot on. If you couldn't tell already, I plan to return to Pepes in the immediate future to see what other deliciousness awaits me.
