When we decided to remodel our outdated old kitchen which would involve the removal of a wall between the dining room and kitchen to enlarge the area, my wife and I were quite skeptical with the first few contractors we met who gave us "ballpark prices", "tentative designs subject to change", vague explanations about their use of subcontractors, and even pressure to choose a designer who happened to be a family member. But as soon as walked into EKB, we knew immediately we were dealing with a professional and highly competent "team". Leah treated us like we were her only clients the first time we met that day, never rushing us, listening to our ideas, providing suggestions but no pressure to ever choose something that didn't fit into our budget, and fully explaining the step-by-step process that would be followed. Stephanie worked with us to obtain all the necessary permits and to fully explain the financing so we knew what to expect. When Matt came out to our house to take photographs and measurements, he spent less time talking "to us" and instead "listened" to our ideas before suggesting things we hadn't considered which demonstrated how he was there not as a salesman but someone working for us so we would be happy. When we finally decided to sign the contract, EVERYTHING was clearly written out and explained such as payment dates, the timeframe for completion, materials to be used, and what exactly would be done. EKB consistently communicated everything with me throughout the entire process, and the workers and installers explained to me each day what they were planning to do and showed me their work prior to leaving. There were absolutely no surprises at all throughout the entire construction period which was completed earlier than expected. When our old laminate floor was removed Matt decided to install a new subfloor AT NO ADDITIONAL COST which would better support the tiles they were installing. They even decided to replace old insulation again AT NO ADDITIONAL COST when they noticed it was not in the best of shape. This just demonstrated to us that EKB was so focused on creating the kitchen we had dreamed of and was not going to take any shortcuts just to finish the job and move on to the next. At the completion of the project, EKB asked us to inspect anything that we felt needed to be touched up or may have been damaged such as cabinets that arrived from the manufacturer with a defect; when I gave them a list of some items, they immediately ordered the replacements and sent Anthony to fix up everything to our satisfaction. It may have taken 20 years from when we first moved in to our home but we finally have our dream kitchen thanks to EKB. The old axiom is true - you get what you pay for and my wife and I are so happy we chose the team at EKB. read more

Very confusing dealing with this team. First, we were instructed to remove our old countertops prior to them sending someone out to measure. Then we were told by the owner, Matt that we didn't need to remove them for measuring. RESULT: one of the main countertops was cut too short on both sides. My husband and a friend were able to fill the gaps by putting in a makeshift substitute (wood pieces) so the counter top would lay correctly. When asked for some sort of compensation from EKB we were quickly told NO. We were even willing to keep the counter top "as is" where many of our friends said they would have sent it back. The team did say they would send someone out to help "fix" the problem however, nothing would have resolved the fact that the countertop was cut too short. When I called to ask to speak with the owner (Matt) I was told he was out of town. Last I knew cell phones worked pretty much anywhere you go. Oh well.... lesson learned. read more

We can't say enough good things about EKB Kitchens! EKB Kitchens redesigned and rebuilt our 19 year old kitchen. The process started with Leah's design and ideas. I knew what I wanted but Leah elevated the ideas and made them even better. She thought of every detail. Matt kept in close contact with the whole project. His professionalism and perfectionism is impressive. Anthony and Bryan are just fantastic at getting the work done. They were able to address every curve ball our unperfect walls threw at them. They kept their work area clean and was always protecting our furniture, walls and floor. George, Paul, Mauricio and Stephanie also helped and the entire team is just a pleasure to work with. We had a kitchen designed and installed by EKB at our last home and were so happy with the quality of service and product that we are going with them again for our new kitchen at a different home. BTW, the installation was flawless at the last home. Leah gave us some great ideas for designs and accessories and Matt was nothing but professional. I do not make recommendations lightly as I feel that it's a reflection of my judgement and my reputation. I've recommended EKB on several occasions and have never been disappointed. I have been dealing with EKB Kitchens going on 9 years and they have consistently performed above average. They tailor the kitchens to our budget, the delivery and install dates land within the agreed upon dates and warranty repairs have never been questioned. The turn around times for plans and meetings have always been within reason as well. The installers are in house employees not subcontractors like some of the larger guys, this being said quality control is under control. I will continue to hire EKB for my future projects for the reasons mentioned along with the fact that they are self sufficient and don't require hand holding, just point and let them go. read more

My husband and I decided in late June of 2019 that we wanted to finally redo our original kitchen of 25 years. My brother had been recommended to EKB Kitchens by his contractor and we loved how his kitchen came out so we decided to use EKB as well. Working with Leah was wonderful she was very thorough when we met and stayed in touch while we waited for our delivery date. I'm sure I drove her nuts... :-) Matt even came out to measure twice "just to make sure" as we had an odd old cabinet that was throwing the measurements off. I am very satisfied with my new white kitchen cabinets. EKB Kitchens did a beautiful job. I worked with Matt and Ashley to design my kitchen. Whenever I had a question they were always there to answer me. Anthony who installed my cabinets did excellent work. He was very neat and clean. When he finished each day you wouldn't know any work had been done there, because he cleaned up each day after he was finished. I love my new kitchen cabinets and I would give EKB (10) stars if I could. I recommend them highly to anyone looking for new kitchen cabinets.
