For $4K estimated & $2K down on a ~600sq. ft interior for painting, we did not want paint on our furniture, floors, windows, patio, or in our yard, but that is what we got even after repeated requests to take actions that would leave us with quality results & no problems. We also got areas that went unpainted & a perspective from Mr. Vigil that those areas were painted; they were not. We got doors that did not close after painting & stain that did not match. We had an agreement to return unused whole gallons of ceiling paint, & his crew opened gallons without regard to what is returnable, leaving us with 2 partial gallons where 1 could have been returned. We went to address issues with him, & our upset & dissatisfaction were met with Mr. Vigil's unwillingness to listen, his excuses & defenses, & his threats that he would walk out & not return; he did walk out. He & his crew delivered dissatisfaction, sloppy & incomplete results that left us with messes where there were none prior & extra work to put right what he & his crew did not do properly.

For each I got a detailed estimate, which were very fair and not exceeded. Workers were courteous, punctual and highly competent. My work consisted of inside and outside jobs. Starting with our first call and working with the Schedulers: Illyn, Judy and Katia to get the estimate done and work scheduled. They were readily available to answer questions. Sales persons Dusty and Alex who visited our home to assess the work. Dusty provided us with a very reasonable and fair price for the project. We needed to address water stains from a 2023 roof leak in three ceiling areas, as well as hairline cracks from the house settling over the last 22 years. The team arrived promptly at 8:00 AM. Chris, the Crew Leader, clearly explained the work plan and how the team would proceed. Matt, the Lead Painter, along with Alexis and Kay, worked exceptionally well together. Their attention to detail was evident, and the final result is beautiful. Furthermore, when we decided to add two additional walls to the project, Matt provided an estimate immediately and the team transitioned into that work without a hitch. I had a terrible experience with Andy's painting. Prior to starting the job, I emphasized to the…read morecrew that we had recently installed new flooring in our home and that I was concerned about protecting the floors. I was assured that the floors would be covered during the duration of the project to ensure protection. Floor covering is specified in our contract but was not completed. Our floors were not covered. Instead, masking tape was placed on the floor in sporadic areas. I discussed this with our project manager Kris and the painting crew after realizing that they weren't going to cover the floors and again re-emphasied my concerns, however the floors were still not covered. The tape job was not adequate, and paint got all over the stairs and flooring. The crew attempted remove the paint using an abrasive orbital buffer and a sharp hand tool. This caused multiple steps to be scratched and gouged. The crew caused $622.08 worth of damage to our new flooring. Andy's website states "We perform the work. We do not subcontract our painting work. All our painters are employed by Andy's painting." The original painters and our project manager Kris both informed me on the first day that the crew were indeed sub-contractors. The painter said that it was only his second day working with Andy's. Obviously, this was frustrating and a willful misrepresentation by Andy's. We did not expect or agree to have the job subcontracted. Especially by someone who lacked the skill to complete the job. Areas that were not to be painted received paint. Including the stair risers, handrail and doors. The handrail was even painted a different color without my consent or prior knowledge. The lack of attention to detail was astounding. We had to babysit the entire project. I had to ask multiple times to have simple tasks like filling nail holes or having walls textured completed. All of these items were agreed to in our contract. However, there were constant excuses from the crew and attempts to cut corners. I was told "you probably don't need 2 coats of paint" and "you can't see those holes." ect. It was tiresome to have to repeatedly insist that they complete the job as we had agreed. The first crew was fired by the project manager after 2 days. In total, 3 different crews worked on our project trying to get it right. On the very first day I was told that the job would be completed in 1 day. The job ended up taking 5 days. The doors were painted using a sprayer in our driveway. The driveway was not protected properly and there was white paint sprayed all over our driveway. The doors were initially put back on wet causing the paint to be damaged, door hinge pins upside down, missing screws ect. The crew does not arrive on time. They were at least 30 minutes late on 4 different occasions. Multiple crew members told me that Andy's will hire anyone and that they don't check references or require any demonstration of proficiency or skill prior to be hired. Overall, it was a bad experience. I was expecting a much more professional experience and result. Andy's did agree to pay for the damage and did some additional work on removing the paint from our stairs and flooring. I would not recommend hiring Andy's Painting.

I had a ~10' conifer that I needed a price to transplant from the front to the back yard. Obv. having this done would only make sense if the cost to transplant was less than just buying a similar tree to plant in the back (then cutting down the one in front)[sorry, but as much as we like the current tree alive, it had to be an economic decision]. Short version of the story: I was quoted a very reasonable price to have the tree moved/transplanted, Mencos' crew (5 guys) was out the next day, and did a fantastic and quick job. Took them about 1.5 hours to dig out a big root cluster with dirt, strap the tree to a beam, and lug it to the back and re-plant it. Even shorter: I'd definitely hire them again for any tree work or landscaping, and plan on getting them back out to do a drip irrigation system for the front once we have it all planned and planted out.

I called Everett from across the country to help out a dear friend in his area with finding a dishwasher that would fit her space, picking it up and installing it for her. He didn't bat an eye at such a relatively odd request, and was really so kind about it. My friend reported he was responsive, friendly, did good work, and most importantly treated her like a respected community member and a HUMAN. Went the extra mile. I basically want to put him on retainer so she can call him whenever she needs something and not worry about cost. Which was supremely reasonable, by the way. I needed help fixing my toilets, which were constantly leaking and running, he came and knew exactly what needed to be fixed. 30 mins later he had taken apart the toilet, fixed it and put it back together. He painted my entire house, repaired drywall, and finished/painted the garage, not to mention laid epoxy on the floor, so it was quite a job. I will say that it took longer than I'd anticipated, starting at the end of 2018 and finally wrapping up in February 2020. There were even times that I thought Aaron had disappeared for good, but he had a lot going on in his personal life and still managed to come through. What I can also say is that he was friendly, offered plenty of helpful advice, and really went the extra mile on the work itself, such as adding sealant for free when the epoxy didn't look good. His prices were among the most reasonable, and he made every effort to fix the little things when the major tasks were finished. He was hired for additional work, such as repairing wall cracks or water damage to the ceiling, and made sure to finish those properly as well. Perhaps there are folks who would have completed the job more quickly, but Aaron went above and beyond without charging 1 1/2 or 2 times the amount like others were asking. He really endeavors to make his work a business relationship, not just a transaction, and I am glad to recommend him to others.
