So, I had my coffee and was in search of something to go with it that wasn't a bagel or sandwich --…read morenothing wrong with any of that but I wanted something that didn't even pretend to be healthy The stars aligned for me this day and I came across Flyboy Donuts. I've never been to one before, and from what I was told, it's a local chain that isn't a franchise. That alone made me even more interested. This was a new location, so despite the full parking lot and high traffic area, there was no one inside so it gave me time to visually explore the offerings. There was no pressure to hurry up from the sole employee. There were plenty of donut choices and I can see where it'd be easy to overdo it. Flyboy also has pastries and breakfast sandwiches if you want something more substantial before the dessert. I settled on a salted caramel donut and raspberry filled. I think one donut would have been plenty because these donuts are big enough to share. The salted caramel was okay but didn't really have much salted caramel flavor to it, but the raspberry filled was exactly what you want them to be: messy, filling dripping out after your first bite, and a taste that lingers in a good way. As I was leaving a couple of families with small children were entering, so I'm pretty sure this place gets a good share of the locals for a weekend morning family-time place. Flyboy will be on my list of stops when I'm in the Sioux Falls area.
