I know its self service but unfortunately the waiters didn't really try going out there way to make us feel welcome and we had to flag them down each time we needed a new drinkvery disappointed another big fault is you cant pay for you meal with a credit card all that aside i would still recommend this place to friends because the food is nice

Basic but value for money. 5 of us visited on a Sunday…read moreevening. The interior is modern, bright, clean & airy, although it has more of a cafe feel than a restaurant. The large bar area serves a good range of beers, wines & spirits all of which are reasonably priced. The staff we encountered we're all polite, well presented & efficient. The self service buffet is of both Indian & Chinese food, which is great if you are not familiar with the cuisene's as it gives you the opportunity to try everthing. On one side of the buffet area was a good range of cold starters, salads & pickles. On the other side was the hot buffet divided between the indian & chinese selction. Nan breads were made to order & included in the price. The quality & range of food available was good & at £12.95 a head represented good value. The buffet area though was a little cramped & if the place is busy you might have to que (unless they move it to another area when busy). Not the best place for a romantic dinner for two, but if you want an unfussed bite to eat on your way home from work or night out with freinds before hitting the town then you can't go far wrong with this place.

Feeling emotionally and physically destroyed after my recent visit to Yinjibar…read more First red flag, the water tasted atrocious. After we ordered they brought us plates and a bowl of what I believe were very sad clouds. The entrees came before the starter. For entrée I ordered the roast duck which arrived partially submerged in a puddle of oily water. My m8 ordered fried rice which came with a number of unidentifiable pieces of flesh on top. I won't dignify it with the title of "meat". Also they brought a random half head of cabbage. Finally our starter arrived, the crispy lamb which was more concerningly crispy than deliciously crispy. Was certainly not typically used pieces of a lamb. I may not survive the night. Pray for my memory. Do not eat at Yinjibar.

I've already added this review but for some reason they've put it as a Japanese restaurant:…read moreThis restaurant is a little gem! You may be put off by it's small size (although I think they have extended now), unassuming exterior and low key decor, but I strongly recommend everyone to try this place. Fantastic food at the most unbelievable prices. They do huge bowls of noodles with seafood, meats or wantons etc for about £5, have a great range of dim sum and also do sushi. As well as a small selection of the usual Chinese dishes. I have tried their seabass with chillies and it was amazing, by far the best authentic Chinese food I've found in Hull. The fact that the majority of clientele are Chinese is a testament to it's authenticity.

He comes right back and tells me they're out of rice. How are you an Asian restaurant and not have rice? Already my opinion of this place is going down. And then, as Himself is paying, that's when the guy decides to tell him that hey don't validate parking. Seriously? So how's the food? Well, they do have unlimited Diet Coke- but no ice What they do is get your noodle of choice, meat/veggies of choice and mix it into a wok w/ your sauce of choice. Then they put it into a box. The actual noodles aren't bad, the beef isn't good so don't order it. The pole is an uninspired Chinese style BBQ pork and the chicken is just chicken. I got a regular make your own box w/ 3 items as did Himself & with two drinks the total came to £19.90. However, it's a goodly amount of food and I'll have leftovers. I'm giving it two stars because they ran out of food and don't validate parking.

Wok & Go is a new restaurant that has opened in St Stephen's shopping centre. The atmosphere is loud, crowded, frenzied, has horrible seating (be prepared to share a table and make new friends) but it does have amazing and very flavourful food. Not just good, but amazing. The portions are enormous, the service is nearly nonexistent but efficient, and the menu is long and varied. All meals are prepared with a standard mix of raw ingredients based on noodles or rice, and packed into those little boxy take-away containers ready to be thrown into the frying pan. You can request extra ingredients plus a selection of sauces before it is cooked. Your meal is cooked in what look like authentic Chinese woks at the front of the restaurant, exactly as they do in cheap restaurants in China and you can watch if you like. There is a bit of a wait, as it is cooked fresh to order, but the taste clearly makes up for it. It tastes fresh and they don't add MSG. Chop-sticks are available as well as plastic cutlery. On the menu are various items, my favourite is the Teriyaki Lime Beef Salad Box. It is a warm beef salad with a Japanese soba noodle teriyaki sauce and a twist of lime. AND it's 98% fat-free for those of you that care about your health. This is also available with chicken or as a vegetarian option. I am a bit disappointed that they don't do more variety or vegetarian options in their menu as I would really like to try out a more varied selection of dishes. I do like that they do a special kids dish. One of the best things about the restaurant is that they stay open until 11PM and they offer a delivery service.
