This restaurant looks quite grotty outside but it has been a favourite for years. It is trying to compete with a newish 'eat as much as you like' chinese restaurant in the city centre and has changed its menu slightly of late. However I do not think it needs to worry. The food here is much better.
Also I still think for the money it is a great little restaurant especially at luchtime. There is a choice of a few set menus from lunch till early evening all at a great price. If you ask for a jug of iced water they do not charge. They do serve alcohol and teas. However English tea is served with cream and is yukky. The chinese soups such as Pei Wah is lovely.
It has survived since the sixties so must be pretty good. Toilet facilities are basic but clean. It is open ebery day of the week till late. It has a good central position near to the Interchange (bus station etc) and shops.
Don't let the outside put you off. Only 4 stars due to the look of the place. read more
