It's New York. And part of living here means that you can have a variety of light fixtures which…read morecall for unique lightbulbs that, as in my case, are rare and cannot be bought in most places. The beauty of Just Lightbulbs is that they can look at a random bulb, identify it, advise you on the recommended wattage and find the bulb in their stock. If you ever find a better price for a bulb they offer, let them know! They take their craft very seriously and are clearly passionate about the service and quality they offer. Did I ever think I would be reviewing a place that sells just bulbs? Nope, but they are more than just a lightbulb retailer and they definitely merit a 5 star review. Although the lightbulbs I need are pricier than average, the bulbs last long and I've never had an issue in the past 8 years that I've been frequenting them. They are serving the community during COVID-19 and hopefully they will continue to do so far beyond my need of unique bulbs.

And since replacing one wasn't an option, all the bulbs for a craftsman dining room fixture needed to be replaced, (for esthetic reasons). Funny thing is, once they ran up the order, they were able to find my original purchase of these SWITCH bulbs, 13 years ago. I did though remember Just Bulbs being the place to go for bulbs, especially when you need them for more than just light. They did warn me, though technology has produced an endless variety of efficient LEDs, those available today won't last as long as SWITCH bulbs. Anyway, they're located where some of the city best interior designers can be found, East 58th.

Barbizon Lighting I…read moream a geek by profession and one of my hobbies is electronics so I am always in and out of electrical supply places and always in need of more and more specialized haunts. I recently came across Barbizon lighting on 55th and 10th. I was at a flea market and picked up a Lowell Stage lamp I wanted to convert into a house lamp. I needed to step down the 1000 watt halogen bulb (that could cook chicken) to something more reasonable. I walked over to Barbizon on my lunch hour and the guys were eager to assist me and genuinely interested in my project. This place does some serious stage lighting projects here in the City. While they were assisting me, one of the guys was reviewing an order with 25 line items for a stage lighting company--still, they did not blow me off or rush me out the door. In fact, I wanted to go a different route with my light altogether that would have cost more money and they worked with me to try a few things first which saved me money. I was able to step it down to a 500 Watt bulb, but still that is a bit bright even with the filters I have on it. They suggested a 600 watt dimmer, which I have but I am trying to maintain as much of the original look as possible and do not want to cut into the classic cord it has with the big on/off toggle. My next step is to swap out the FEL socket for a E11 Socket & bulb, which requires me drilling out the FEL socket and replacing it with an E11 socket. I have been calling all around the city looking for one but no one seems to have it in stock, nor were they interested in a single sale. I called back Barbizon and the rep said he would check and call me back. He called back in 10 minutes, even though it was bad news. I have to go on-line and order one. I love this place and if you are looking to trick out your digs, this is the place to go for some cool industrial strap hanging gear.
