My wife and I contacted Ehrlich pest control for carpenter ants we discovered while painting our house. I was given a window time within which their technician would arrive (noon to 5pm). We were told the charge for a single service would be $420 tax included. We were taken back by this high amount but felt it had to be done to protect our house structurally. After waiting from noon to 5pm, we were attempting to call the company when the tech finally arrived at 5:30pm. After explaining our situation, we asked the technician what he recommended to treat the ant infestation. He listed some extremely carcinogenic insecticides to be sprayed inside and outside our home. My wife and I are cancer survivors and continue our cancer monitoring at Sloan Kettering Hospital in NYC. After some discussion, the technician suggested that he could treat the outside perimeter of the ranch style house with granuals which would be safer for us and upon our inquiry, was available at Walmart, Target and Home Depot at a price of $15 to $40 depending on package size. We agreed that there would be no additional treatments inside the house and we were satisfied that his application of granuals on the outside perimeter of the house would be safe for us. It took the technician 20 minutes to apply the granuals by shaking them from the container as he walked around the house. I asked the price of this limited service and the technician stated that he does not deal with prices and suggested I call the company billing number to know what we will be charged. Aside from spending considerable time asking us to sign up for routine year round monthly services, we preferred a one time service, shook hands and ended our Ehrlich experience. Since that time, we have been on a merry-go-round of telephone calls to the Ehrlich billing department including pleasant conversations with Brianna, Andrea and Shanterria. They assured us our concerns would be addressed directly by the regional manager, Stephan Fisher. We have received no messages or calls since our service date of September 26, 2024, and we have been charged $420, payment of which we are contesting with our credit card company. In the absence of resolution, we are preparing contacts to the NYS consumer protection division at the Office of the Attorney General in Albany, NY. In the process of contesting a charge of $420 for a 20 minute $40 service we have discovered that the Ehrlich company is an international operation with a long history customer complaints. My wife and I recommend to stay away from companies that treat their customers as we have been treated, especially if you are Cancer survivors. read more

The best thing I can say about this company is that the technicians are pleasant. But their dispatch/scheduling is atrocious. They are not allowed in the part of the computer system that actually schedules. From what I can gather, an available appointment shows up on the screen and it's take it or leave it. There are no alternatives and if you are requesting a call back because the insects have come back, well good luck with that. People promise to do things on your behalf, and then never do them, and there's no record in the system of any kind of commitment at all. They have a very attractive website, which promises all kinds of great results, but do not believe this. I live in an apartment complex that has a contract with Ehrlich. We have had a wasp infestation for over a month. Ehrlich was supposed to be here a month ago and several times after that. If you want to get rid of bugs, don't use this company, because they won't show up. I then called the corporate office and the local Syracuse office, which rolls to a call center. Made an appointment with David DeMaria, representing Ehrilich for noise in the walls. He came in and inspected for the source of the noise. We were happy to hear what he recommended . That was where the happiness ended. We were going to sign up for the $45 monthly preventative program with $80 down payment. When I read the invoice, I was charged a one time fee of $325 for service. No service was done yet. I cancelled any further service but was charged $87 for ??? When the pest specialist made an appointment and never showed up because he forgot the bait traps, I ended all dealings with this company/ I have asked many times for the return of the $87 f0r no services rendered. I've been passed around and hung up on and cannot reach anyone. They have lied and claim they have serviced my property and I have proof that they didn't. **commercial service** They are a nightmare. While some technicians are nice, most are not. The account executives are manipulative and condescending. I'm convinced none of customer service was trained together. They make 100 accounts for a residential building of over 100+ apartments, so if you call to make an appointment for 1 apartment, they can never find it because it's not labelled under the apartment, it's labelled under one of the 20 different accounts they made for 1 property. They schedule 2 weeks out, which is unbelievable for someone to be expected to live with bed bugs for 2 weeks. And then even better, about 50% of the time, the technician's are "sick" and the appointment is rescheduled for when a technician is available (which isn't for another week). The technicians complain about the company to clients, but that's the smallest problem. They claim things get better when they have gotten worse, thinking that it won't upset you once you notice. I canceled my pestfree365 plan, having been a customer of their for a few years. The service started out pretty good, but then it deteriorated. They developed a habit of scheduling appointments and not showing up; when they did show up, they were not doing a thorough job at inspecting all areas of the home. Meanwhile, the monthly cost of the plan kept increasing every year. I decided enough was enough. I was not going to pay more money each month for deteriorating service. I called to cancel. They said a manager would contact me to discuss my decision to cancel. A manager never called, and is it turned out they never canceled my service. I called back and they said there was no record of my cancelation. I reiterated that I want to cancel my service. They said it was taken care of. Guess what? A month later, they charged me again! I called a third time to explain I had already called to cancel to my account. They, again, told me there was no record of that. I insisted I speak to a manager and insisted the manager send me an email acknowledging my cancelation, so this time I at least had documentation. What a headache! read more

Six weeks after cancelling the initial appointment with this company, to contract a different company, I received a charge for services never invoiced, performed, or agreed upon. Do not call this company for a quotation, do not leave a credit card number with them under the false pretense that they will not charge it until services are completed. Be sure to check your credit card statements not only in the month a call is made, but also up to three months after the quotation is cancelled and all services are cancelled, as they will charge your card for no reason. read more

We pay for their 365 program and are happy with them when they show up. The problem is every time we have called for an emergency service and scheduled an appointment they either don't show up or they show up outside of the appointment time frame. The first time we called was because of an ant problem. They gave us a four hour window which they never showed up for and I never received an explanation why they didn't show up. We had to reschedule the appointment which they then came the next day. The second time we called was for a possible squirrel/mouse issue within our walls and they gave us a window of four hours. As I'm writing this I am still waiting for them to show up and it is passed the four hour window. We are seriously thinking about canceling our contract with this company. It was my understanding they would remove bird nest before sealing a hole in the siding; nope, they just sealed the hole and left the bird's nest in home, thanks. They left without completing the job, and I didn't hear from them again....but they had time to take $324 from my bank account. I called back again and scheduled an appointment for today to complete the job (window between 8-12)....they did not show up. Just called and they said someone should be there by 5 today. Zero stars! This place was awful. I called about a squirrel in my attic. I specifically told them where the squirrel was living and with a quick glance up at the roof, they could have deduced the same thing. However they decided to put traps so far from the house they would never get the squirrel. I asked them to move them and they assured me that they would catch my squirrel where the traps were set. The next day they caught a skunk, picked up and left and I have never seen them since. I did not ask for a skunk removal. I asked for them to remove a squirrel from my attic and now I'm getting bills for their service. In order to protest this bill I called the local office half a dozen times and am always routed to their call service in Reading, PA where the person on the line knows literally nothing. They continually say they will have to call me back and then never do. I hired a true local pest control service and they have taken care of my squirrel problem. Ehrlich will not get paid for a job not done and I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

Could not be more dissatisfied with every level of service AND staff/management. The tech didn't feel like doing his job or listening to me and left me with MUCH larger pest issues. No one, not even management, is willing to resolve any problems they created, including past-due notices that were generated after I cancelled my plan. I have wasted MONTHS not only trying to resolve the Erhlich side of things (everyone there passes the buck even if you do talk to someone) but also the problems they left me with. Giving them a one-star rating is giving them far too much credit. They are inept as well as fraudulent in their business practices. Dave Zedack, this area's district manager, was in disbelief that I reached out to him when all else failed because "he doesn't deal with issues like this." What he sorrily missed realizing is those working under him forced the communication--and yet, all the problems still exist after finally speaking with him. He was all talk. Sadly, he simply does not care; he's collecting a paycheck. If he deserved his position, and cared about the company AND its customers, his integrity would've guided him to do the right thing. And the refund Mr. Zedack agreed to give? Not only have I not received it, but there aren't any notes made in my file about it for staff to reference. (Of course.) Zero stars, Mr. Zedack. You and Erhlich have received my first negative online review. Keep cashing those paychecks while turning a blind eye. One day...that behavior will not serve you so well. read more
