I have two places around my house that have wasp nests. I called Orkin to come and get rid of it because there were a lot of them swimming around. They charged my card $375 the day I called for this service. One guy came over, spent 15 minutes around my house, and left. For one of the nests, he actually needed a ladder, because it was high, but I had never seen him with a ladder. He said he took care of it, and that it would take two or three days for them to disappear. Well, a few days went by and the wasps were still there. We called them again, and they didn't show up. I made 2 appointments for them to come again, and they didn't show up. We kept calling and calling and finally another guy showed up and said he took care of it. It's been two months, and we still have wasps around the house. They give you a 30-day guarantee, but with us calling and calling and not showing up for the appointments, 30 days have gone by already. We still have wasps problems. Horrible. Consistently horrible. You schedule times and don't show up. Constantly reschedule times and still no show. Follow up calls are non existent. Customer service acts like it's my fault when u actually get to speak with someone. Joe is the worst communication of any person I've done business with. I wish with all my power I could be done with you. Would never recommend. EVER. The techs who show up are great. Once they actually get there. It's not worth the hassle. There's other great exterminators with better communication and probably cheaper. I can't express how many times I've had a scheduled visit, be it monthly, or for a 10k job, and they don't show up on time. Use anyone but them. At least for Syracuse. They're bad. I'm sure this review won't help when they call me back but at this point, I'm already locked in. But I can tell YOU to find someone else. I won't use words like predatory, but I want to. I feel duped! One thing they do, is send the bill every month. That has NEVER been inaccurate. Hook, line, and sinker, I tell ya. Was initially pissed off for the no show, but a service man showed up earlier than expected next day and "Kory" did a great and thorough job!! Worst company I have ever dealt with. I set up 2 appointments they didn't show up or call. Never again

I had them come out and do an initial inspection. The young woman was great. The man was friendly though I think he tried to take me for a ride by quoting me 5k to mouse proof the house. They continued to charge me 51 bucks a month / but no one came for the follow up visits they were charging me for. I've tried to call the office but no one answers and no one has called me back after leaving messages. You would think that Orkin being a name brand place would be more than a scam business- but this is what it is looking like. I would give them negative stars if I could. read more

I have no idea what the quality of the service is but here's my story. I called on Monday afternoon to inquire about services to eliminate a wasp nest that I was unable to eliminate myself. The scheduler was pleasant and we set up a date and time for the next morning at 8:00am. The morning came and it got to be almost 9:00 and no one showed up. I called Orkin and the person I got said "Oh, we don't have anyone available in your area until Saturday.", after I had rearranged my schedule to be ready. They knew they were not coming and never called me. I'm not sure if this is a communication issue between main office and satellite offices, but it is not an innocent mistake as their process seems to be set up for this to happen. You think to yourself that if I call the name brand you'd get the service you expected. Wrong! My mistake was not supporting a local company. Won't make that mistake again. read more

I would not give any stars--My mom had a rat problem and I called places looking for someone that could come asap to help, Orkin replied and sounded so reliable . After she has signed a contract and spent over $4,000 on them she hasn't been able to get a hold of them ever to come to provide services that she has paid for , when the techs do come they refuse to remove a rat that was in the laundry room and where it clearly states in contract they will come and remove. Can't get a person to respond to her at all and at this point just wants some of her money back and to cancel the contract. Orkin has not lived up to their part of the contract at all . I do not recommend them at all and I would tell anyone that even uses them to stop. Orkin has many contracts in my town and I would recommend anyone/business that has one with them to cancel now. I feel so bad for my mom that I thought Orkin would be a good fit when it's clearly not responsible, responsive or anything at all. And to mention one last thing my mom literally had to kill the laundry room rat herself with a shovel while the Orkin guy was there and claimed he couldn't remove or kill it. read more

I called the Orkin number on their website and got a building inspection lined up for a property of ours that I was notified had bedbugs (a rental property). They setup the inspection for the following day from 2PM to 4PM and told me that it would cost $97.00 for the inspection which didn't seem all that bad. Then I called back to confirm the schedule because I confirmed that with our tenants and this time the Lady asked if it was a multi-family property. I told her it was. She said she would have to reschedule me because the commecial department is separate. Then she said commercial inspections are free, so that was GREAT! And when the commercial person called me back from the Syracuse Office, I was told the inspection fee was $297.00!!! I told him I was told that inspections are free and that other companies are free as well (one that begins with Term...) he said he was sorry but he had to run my credit card for the 300 dollars. His inspection took about 30 minutes for inspecting 6 separate apartments. And then they were supposed to remove the inspection fee from the service fee, but didn't show that on the quote and the quote was 40% higher than other companies I have used in the past. And he wasn't even quoting treating the whole building! When I asked to get a quote for the units below the one with bedbugs, not just the sides, they added another 45% to their quote. I would NOT recommend these guys since it seems like they charge an exorbitant amount for an inspection and they pump up their service charge. Also, their inspection report did not have any detail as to where bugs were or were not found so my 300 dollars was a total waste. read more

This place is to spray our complex for Bees they have not done a good job @ all. I have complained to our nit wit site manager that my porch has every kind of Bees imaginable! Wasps, mudders, honey, bumble bees.! & I am highly Allergic.
