I've been complaining to Edinburgh city council since the 5/6/2024 since the bin men broke our underground bucket chute I have video evidence that they did this , I've emailed them my personal and work number an not one person has been InTouch with me regarding this ongoing issue. I even offered to meet up with someone from Edinburgh city council so that they could see the video of there employees breaking our underground bucket chute and I've heard nothing from them at all I can assure Edinburgh city council im not going away and the video evidence will not be deleted untill they do the right thing and fix the underground bucket chute. I've also recently contacted the msp and they said that they will look into this so I await there response. My next move will be the ombudsman. Edinburgh city council do not deserve one star . Considering the amount of council tax that we have to pay every year we deserve a better service than we're getting. The lack in fact no communication is appalling way to run council service to the public. I am proud of my city and feel Edinburgh has a lot to offer but I also feel a lot more could be done to keep our streets and landmarks better maintained. Unlike Edinburgh, America utilizes every space they have, their parks and green spaces are well maintained, clean and tidy and grass always cut. The historical landmarks are always impressive and well maintained and used to their best advantage, making it a pleasure to visit as well as memorable and there is always a gift shop and restrooms nearby. That's another thing, where are all the public toilets? I love my city but it's a mess and needs a good tidy, everything broken needs mended, everything overgrown needs cut, everything dirty needs cleaned and it would be impossible to expect the council to keep on top of everything, I think it falls on our shoulders as much as anyone else's to make our city looking the best it can be, just like the Americans do. So lets try and get a 1 star rating to a 5 star and beyond!!!

The post card is always easy, the postage not always so in some locations. This post office may or may not be typical, but it was busy with customers, and crowded in a tight space with a lot of stationary and utility supplies, and there were two clerks, one at each of the two counters. Our clerk was an affable guy. The post card postage back to the US was 3.2 GBP - yikes!, but whatever. They got the job done for us and that's an a-ok rating from me. Thank you!

Only to receive the same email again. So I asked if they're actually interested or if they are just wasting my time? The answer came of "apologise" and "viewings for this property are booked out quickly" and her "colleague does the bookings". I wrote back they should just leave it then. I told him that when booking the time, I had told the person making the appointment I could only make it for that hour and not earlier nor later. Just to be sure he would come this time, on that morning, I called the company to confirm he would be coming. I was told he was off sick that day. I asked why someone from the company did not inform me. If I had not called them, I would have waited again to no avail. I was told he would be back in two days time when he'd returned back to work 3) Two days later, the rep did called me but he said he could not fix a date yet to see me . He said he would have to contact his secretary and that he'd call me back in a hour's time later in the morning. I did not get a call back from him . 4) A few days later, I called the company to asked what has happened as I was waiting for a call to arrange for the rep to come. Someone did call me later to arrange a new date for the rep to come. 5) On that new date. I called the office again but this time, I was informed it was not the date in the diary but it was another day. I mentioned that I was really disappointed as I had made so many attempts to see the rep to no avail. They indicated to me if I didn't like it, they could just cancelled the appointment date in their diary as if threatening if I did not like it, I could just go away. I thought it was not a good attitude to deal with customers. Begrudgingly, I agreed to see them the following day 6) After thinking over during the night, the following morning, I called the company office to ask them to cancel the appointment visit from their rep as I thought the way they treated me was very poor . I also did not intend to spend thousands of pounds doing business with a company which had not shown themselves to me to be very reliable from my experience. 7) However, I had a call in the afternoon from the rep to say he was outside my house. I told him that I have called his office in the morning to cancel the meeting. He started shouting at me on the phone and said "You're p*ssing me off" or something to that extend. I had thought that was not at all professional. If there is a "Zero Stars" or even Negative "Four Stars" rating for my experience with this company, I would put that. The staff were friendly and helpful, and shock horror they answer the phone! Which is a novelty for me following my past experiences with letting agents. They have a strict procedure for dealing with maintenance issues, which I like. I like a bit of organisation and structure, and this means they get the job done. After a few days in our new flat we discovered a few issues and emailed their maintenance department. We were told to wait 10 days for them to deal with any problems but they came out and sorted the issues in a matter of days. Score! When the direct debit for my rent was set up incorrectly with the bank, instead of charging me for late rent they were super apologetic and gave me a number of options to pay. It was very much appreciated and not what I had expected, so pleasantly surprised. No problems with Alba, would highly recommend them.
