Down a normal alley (though alleys are always slightly creepy, and this one has a mechanic shop…read morehalf way down it) lies this little dentist office. It is horribly plain and lifeless when you walk in, with white walls and a stale feeling about it. There seem to be too many plain chairs lined up, and the long corridor dotted with closed doors looks more like an interrogation center than anything good. Ok, not that visiting the dentist is harmless, but I had a strange sense that I should leave, and that if something bad happened I would remember that I hadn't left when my instinct told me to. Clearly I was in a strange mood Thursday last week when I visited, because two smiling faces and the best dentist I've ever met worked on me. She told me things no one has told me (not american or scottish dentists) about grinding my teeth and a broken filling (ok this later could have happened recently). She showed me xrays and told me her recommendations. I'm heading back this week for the first part, which is some kind of guard to stop my teeth being worn down due to clenching (how was she to know?). Most importantly, I was not hurried in and out. She answered questions, she was knowledgeable and polite, and I felt like more than anyone before she cared what happened to my teeth. Thanks!

I am so glad that I registered with this dentist. I am particularly picky with dentists and…read morepreviously travelled to Glasgow (where I lived years ago) just because I liked my old dentist. Haymarket dental care is run by husband and wife team Charlotte and David who are both lovely and they have a team of dentists at the practice. My Dentist Lorna Burns is just fantastic! She talkes me through any procedures and options which leaves me at ease. The place itself is spotlessly clean even down to putting plastic covers on the handle of the dentists light above you. This is an NHS dentist but you can opt for paying extra for example paying to have a white filling rather than an amalgalm. There are two parking spaces at the front of the dentists which are free. I reccommended this dentists to two of my work colleagues who hadn't been to the dentists in years as they both had a fear of the dentist and both were reassurlngly and gently eased into it and both have overcome their fear and are pleased with the results. They text you a reminder the day before your appointment which ensures I never miss an appointment. very handy!

I live nearby so this dentist is conveniently located. So…read morefar I was treated by about 3 different dentists and they all operate in different ways. Still, all of them will sooth your nerves by explaining the procedures to you before their cause of actions. They appear very attentive. Some are more detailed than others, which might not necessarily mean a positive thing as it takes longer for the anticipated ending of a treatment to arrive. The practice looks very neat and clean, be it the waiting room and reception area, which even displays a TV screen and helps passing time or be it the treating rooms. All the instruments and floors look sterile. The dentists wear mouth masks and elastic surgery gloves. Treatment does not come cheap, dependent on NHS or private options available. A white filling costs around £80, root canal btw £300-400. Sometimes its hard to get a late evening appointment, which can be more convenient for 9-5 working people. Still, they offer late nights and its a bonus. The reception staff is very friendly and will help you finding the best time slot available. Also ideal is the location and proximity to Haymarket station. Buses 26,33,3,4,44,25,12,28,27,100.....all closeby. Overall its an ideal place for your local treatment!

I went for a standard check. Every time I go there I warn my dentist that my front tooth is broken,…read moreand I say "so please be very careful with it". Every time I say it, they get distracted and hit my front tooth. Then I say "I told you to be very careful" and they are like "oh, not to worry, it is difficult to break". I know it is difficult to break but I have sensitive teeth and every time after appointment I feel discomfort because they got distracted. Never done something more than a basic check and I wont do!
