Oh the ham was so good, big pieces and wonderfully textured. We each added a poached egg, because why not. Potatoes and a small fruit cup also on the plate. A maple butter for the fruit was absolutely amazing, but no way to eat all of it and I felt bad for the wastage of something so delicious. Would return yo try a grilled cheese sandwich, of which there are so many to choose from and seemed a hot item coming out of the kitchen. Service had zero flaws and was quick and efficient. Our server, Kim, came over and greeted us in French and we ordered coffee and water in French. When she heard our accent, she told us English is her first language. That's rare in Quebec. She offered us English menus but we declined and used the French ones. Looking around, we could see that this is definitely a family restaurant. Most of the diners were either families with young children or older couples. There were other tables that looked like a group of friends met for breakfast. Everyone there looked like a local. I believe we were the only Americans. I ordered a plate called The Magog and my wife ordered the Québécois omelette. Both arrived about ten minutes later and looked very nice. The flavor was good and we were hungry, so there was not much left at the end of breakfast. Overall, we thought the food was good. We have had slightly better and we have had much worse in other Quebec restaurants. We thought the service was excellent. Kim was very personable and helpful. The pastries, sandwiches and bakery items were similar to those in the Baie-Saint-Paul location. There were quite a few people in the store who had discovered this place and were ordering lunch. Well now that things are back to normal, it is not the case anymore. I've been there three time so far since the spring. The first time was for coffee. The place was pretty empty, I ordered a cappuccino. It took a fair amount of time to get it. Ok, I give it to you that it's not the kind of coffee that you immediately pour in a cup, but that are some limit. The second time I went, I wanted a beer, I said so to hostess, I was seated and given the drink menu. When the server finally came to take my order, she informed me that they couldn't alcohol alone. That I had to eat. Why wasn't I informed of that when I walked in? It would have been easier instead of arguing with the waitress. Last Sunday, I was back. I wanted to have some sort of breakfast. I walked inside not wanting to sit on the patio. It took over 15 minutes to have the hostess come to me. I was finally sit and again, I had to wait for a waitress for a period that is more than what is really required. She asked me if I wanted to start with something to drink. I said yes, gave her my order for a cappuccino and she disappeared. About 20 minutes later, she comes back with my coffee and to take my order. I give her my order and 30 minutes after giving my order, I still haven't received it. By that time, my coffee was done so I left money on the table for the coffee and I left. I would gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking that she is new. But this was the end of the lunch time and this is the same type of service I received on prior visits. In my book, they are done.
