Great friendly service , good food, nice atmosphere. Everything you need for breakfast!

First, this place was busy so perhaps my concerns are a result of this. However I've been here often and have loved it, now the last couple times we've left disappointed. First, it was so busy we had to be sat in the back where we feel is somewhat overlooked. We were sat quickly and after a little wait the server came over for our drinks. I politely said I would like a coffee and were ready to order. She says "I can take your drink order" (2x). She then went to another table to greet them and within 30 seconds of her walking away - they had left. My guess it was for the same reason. Customers who come here usually know what they want. Making them wait makes little sense. When she did finally return it couldn't have taken more than 2-3 minutes for us to order. Then she came with the check and couldn't take our card saying "I'll be right back". I'm not sure I understand how this is very productive. Overall food was good. Service was sub-par. The restaurant was nice and clean inside. The waitress was super nice! She was great & attentive. She had just started not too long ago (at least that's what she said) and was super sweet. We decided to stop here for a quick brunch. Ok, ok, the truth is that we felt guilty about having Duck Donuts for breakfast, and decided that we owed it to ourselves to eat "real" food first. Wonderful eatery. It isn't 1-star in cost, most meals are in that $10-15 range. I got the Founders Hash and really enjoyed it. The menu is broad and you could eat here several days in a row and have a varied menu. The service is quick and food preparation is also fast. I had no complaints. Greenville now has a lot of options for breakfast. Eggs Up is a chain and the prices are pretty good. Found the menu a little different than the Eggs Up where we live. The one thing the same and my only problem, their biscuits are not what I like and expect. What they make is what I would call a flat biscuit, which doesn't raise. Tired of the free hotel breakfast I decided to treat myself today. Came in and was warmly greeted. Sat at the bar and a friendly young man immediately offered me something to drink. Ordered the French vanilla cappuccino - BIG MISTAKE! They do not have an expresso machine! This is a coffee flavored "hot chocolate" with whipped cream instead of milk froth from a real cappuccino. They really need to remove it from the menu (or explain what it is). Had to go to Starbucks after breakfast for a real cappuccino after I finished my breakfast! All was not lost though...I ordered the Carmel Apple Crisp Pancakes and LOVED IT! If you like apple pie and you like pancakes you will like it too! Cooked apples on a perfectly made pancake topped with caramel and a crisp. Love that it came with a side of bacon (I love sweet AND salty combos). Would have given them 5 stars had it not been for the cappuccino fiasco! read more

This was a nice classic diner experience. We sat at the bar, I was reconnecting with extended family. The waitress was very friendly and definitely had that southern charm. Our food came fairly quickly and was fresh and tasty. Everyone in my party enjoyed it. The food is also fairly priced. I came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. I was worried because the parking lot wasn't full and the restaurant was nearly empty. I didn't know what I wanted and I saw the few people around were having the French toast, so I ordered that. I got it with the bacon and home fries since I don't like eggs. I was happy to get a full meal without ordering a la carte because so many places put eggs in their breakfast plates. The blueberry muffin was also very good. It was split and toasted and was a scrumptious "breakfast dessert." The server was very friendly and helpful. On the way out it was prime breakfast time and there was a wait. We have been here several times. Great staff. Fast kitchen. The waitresses we have had were Samantha, Katie (who looked like Elsa from Frozen), and Wendy. Every one of them was fantastic. The food is great and comes out of the kitchen fast. If you like your bacon a little more cooked, ask for crispy bacon. The blueberry muffin is definitely my favorite. Found this on Yelp. Close to our hotel and quick service. NOT a one dollar place, but it is reasonably priced and the servings are generous. Jasmine is a smiling happy server. She keeps busy while waiting for food to deliver to tables. We sat at the bar both visits (two days in a row) and enjoyed watching her he food get plated and put in the window. There's a tv with sports being shown. Small town chatter all around. The same guy sits in his regular spot in the end of the bar. 1. Founders hash: two eggs, grits, and hash. I chose not to have toast. 2. Southern bowl: grits, hash browns, sausage crumbles, & sausage gravy topped with two eggs. Their hash browns are large chunks of red skin potatoes. The goddess, dowager goddess, and I were driving home after a week with our family on the bright white sand beaches of the Pensacola region. Having been to Greenville several times on business, I thought it would make an excellent overnight stop. And so it did, with Greenville living up to its reputation and my experience of it being a welcoming and friendly city. Until breakfast at Eggs Up. For the record, and in case the manager wants to respond, we were there on 6/22 around 9 am. We ordered: Fruit cup Muffin plain Yogurt bowl Grits Two eggs over easy The fruit cup had old and mushy cantaloupe and rotted blueberries. The $6.50 muffin was tiny, undercooked (partially cooked batter) and cut in half and toasted (despite being ordered plain), possibly to cover up the fact that it was undercooked, but that's just speculation on my part. The grits were bland, cold, and nearly inedible. The eggs were room temperature when they arrived. Goddess scraped off the toasted layer of the muffin (she wouldn't eat the toasted part, as she ordered it plain. That's when we found the uncooked batter. I show the waitress the rotted fruit and the undercooked muffin. I ask her to take them off the bill and remove them from the table. She returns with the bill. Here's the conversation verbatim: Waitress: "Yeah, well, we can't take the muffin off the bill because you kinda ate part of it." Goddess: "I scraped off the toasted part because I told you I wanted it plain - and found the uncooked batter. I didn't eat a bit of it." Waitress: "it looks like you started to eat it, so no I can't take it of your bill" Goddess: "I didn't eat it. I bake all the time and I know not to eat undercooked baked goods because I don't want food poisoning." Waitress: "Yeah, I don't need to hear any more from you." Jaw drop. Did the waitress just say that out loud? I paid the bill and ushered the ladies quickly out of the restaurant because I didn't want this to escalate like the newsroom team gang fight in Anchorman. Goddess has a verbal flamethrower and isn't afraid to use it. The questions to management is this: was it worth making $6.50 to a) get a review like this, b) make me think twice about ever returning to the Greenville area, and c) report to the county health department on the undercooked food, which we would not have done if 1) you had the common courtesy to make a bad situation right, and 2) your waitress had not decided to do her Tommy Devito from Goodfellas imitation? read more

Visiting the Greer area and looking for a hearty breakfast and stumbled upon Eggs Up Grill. Busy, vibrant breakfast spot with a small town, homey diner vibe. Definitely a place where locals regular to and for good reason! We ordered the Founder's hash Benedict and grand classic and we're so pleased at the large portions and plates. Eggs were perfectly done and paired with delicious sides. We were fortunate to get a table quick, even during Mother's Day weekend. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back and trying their pancakes and egg bowls. read more

Overall we had a good experience here. I came here to meet some friends for breakfast on a weekday. They weren't busy at all. We got sat at a table. We waited a while before we got greeted but we quickly ordered our food. I got the shrimp and grits and I asked for the eggs to be well done. It was an ok dish. It tasted pretty bland in general so I did have to ask for hot sauce. I got my daughter the pancake with fruit and an egg. I asked what all came in the fruit and the server told me and I asked if the fruit was soft and she honestly said no. So we opted for the banana instead. They did also forget the cheese that went on my sister's eggs. Ok experience overall. Wouldn't be my first choice to come back but it is a nice option to have. read more

Our go-to spot for breakfast before I have to go to the airport. They open early and the food generally comes out pretty quickly. Last time, my mom ordered soft poached eggs and they came overcooked and the replacements took so long to cook that we were done with our whole meal by the time they came out. I got the loaded home fries bowl which came with sautéed peppers, onions, and home fries topped with cheese and 2 eggs. It was delicious and very filling and service was friendly. read more

We had a really nice breakfast at Eggs up after a busy day of moving. We had the Philly steak eggs benedict, the banana Foster French toast, and avocado toast. We also ordered a side of the breakfast potatoes. Everything was fantastic except for the breakfast potatoes, which were dried out. It's the only reason they lost the star. The avocado toast was refreshing, and the French toast had a delicious crunch from the caramelized brown sugar. The Philly eggs benedict was fantastic. The steak was tender and they did an amazing job with the Hollandaise sauce. The best thing about this place was that you could get an upgrade of something (the the banana Foster French toast for instance, instead of just regular French toast) for no additional cost. The prices were very affordable, especially for the caliber of food. I also got one of the fancy drinks with grenadine and orange juice, and it was very good as well. I love breakfast. This place is casual and has MANY options for all of the breakfast and brunch lovers. It was our first time and we will definitely come back!! Kristen was the sweetest and with a baby that says a lot. She was so conscious of the baby and asked if there was anything that would make him more comfortable. Honestly, the best breakfast place I have been in the south. Great location, great food and great service. Red white and blue waffle was perfect, bacon was exactly made for us (crunch, taste and not oily!), the eggs benedict was also delicious. Came in for a coffee a quick breakfast and I've been here a few times. Having a daughter who comes from the restaurant industry I notice things. One being how managers are especially with their employees as I'm sitting there, I see a gentleman walk-in he has tattoos and a beard very cleaned up. I may add, but to see the employees look so happy as he walked in and the way he addressed his servers was so inviting. They looked at them with the upmost respect, and he talked to them not at them, his name is Sean and my server. I believe her name was Adela. First time at this location and good to know they all are really good breakfast spots. Had the corned beef hash benedict with a side of grits and it was outstanding. Hash was crispy and the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. The grits already had some butter in it, but after hooking them up, they were delicious. Really nothing to brag about. The eggs benedict was subpar. It was served (just) warm the eggs were cooked perfectly, but the hollandaise sauce left a lot to be desired. Service was quick and friendly. They were out of grits, but home fries were an acceptable alternative. My real test is: would I go back? The answer is no. My visit was during peak COVID and the employees were not exercising the best masking. The cook did not have a mask. Servers were unmasked at times and some simply didn't cover their nose with their mask. Instead of driving a bit further to go to a highly rated breakfast option, I chose this one based on distance and convenience. read more
