I had no idea what to expect. Headed due north on I95 from my job which was 15 minutes away. I got there and smelled chicken and it smelled so good. The place was not appealing but the chicken taste so good. I got a platter of 30 wings to go. My order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I left a happy camper with a basket if chicken in toe. The drive would be a long one since I live in St Johns County. However, if I am working off Emerson St., Hip Hop Fish and Chicken is the spot for fresh, hot and delicious chicken. Best decision we could have made. From the second we walked in, the staff took great care of us. Super friendly, welcoming, and on it the whole time. The food came out fast, hot, and everything was on point. The seafood was fresh, the fried items were crispy and clean, not greasy, and the sauces were legit. You can tell they care about what they're putting out. And then we topped it off by taking a whole key lime pie home with us which was just as good as everything else. They even took a photo of our family for us, which was a cool touch and just shows the kind of place this is. Safe to say what started as a backup plan just turned into our new favorite seafood spot.
