    Blueberry Lemon Pie

What a wonderful experience, from a comfortable setting to amazing fresh food made with something that most restaurants lack! HEART and Passion. The owners were even on site to talk little about the journey in opening a restaurant with some flavors of South Florida and great comfort food, mixed with down to earth service from people who have smile on their face and care. After seating, the first thing that stands out is a colorful full wall hand painted mural of the restaurant's name Birdies Birds. Started off with an appetizer of juicy Chicharrón followed by very tender and juicy Skirt steak marinated with a Latin flair with sautéed onions and a side of Black Beans & Rice with Maduro's. Desert was a Blueberry Lemon pie and freshly brewed coffee. Great all around adventure and well worth the trek to a Diamond in the rough(Middleburg).

Overall.... I really enjoyed our visit. It is a small restaurant but packed with so much! The employees are welcoming, attentive, and helpful. The food was fresh and packed full of flavor. Omg I got the special Shrimp and Biscuit Bowl w/ portobello, mushroom, bacon, tomato, and red pepper sauce was off the chain. Hubby got the fried chicken scampi on rice and I thought he was going to lick the bowl. We enjoyed dinner so much that we took desert home. Grabbed the pearly butter pie to go! This place is a must!

Tried out this cozy new spot with friends and left full and happy... Southern Comfort with a Sweet Twist mostly thanks to the food and the incredibly kind staff. We shared a few appetizers--mac & cheese, chicharrons, and the standout portobello fries. Those mushrooms were huge, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the gochujang aioli. For my main, I had the Chicken Fried Chicken Biscuit... served with mashed potatoes, country gravy, and a side of corn casserole. Everything was delicious, though I wish the corn casserole had been piping hot. My friends had the Southern Fried Spare Ribs and the Shrimp & Biscuit Bowl... both looked amazing and got thumbs up. Dessert is where this place really shines. We tried the Fried Bread Pudding, Triple Chocolate, and my personal favorite... the Banana Cake with Peanut Butter Buttercream Icing. It was like banana bread but softer, sweeter, and absolutely addictive. The vibe is cozy and artsy, with a bird-themed mural that adds charm. It was full but not chaotic, and the owners, Jeff and Jo, were actively checking in to make sure everything was running smoothly. Jo's desserts are a must... trust me when they say "Dessert is NOT an option." Service was friendly and enthusiastic, though a few kinks are still being worked out. My soda barely had ice, and the sweet potato haystack garnish on the mains felt a bit out of place... right in the middle of the plate and not really edible. Still, the staff was eager to please, and the energy was great. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu... and to get another slice of that banana cake. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving comfort food with a creative twist.

Just discovered Birdie's Dinner & Dessert! I actually considered keeping this place a secret . Birdie's Dinner & Dessert in Middleburg is not to be missed. They open at 3 pm (think early dinner) and by about 4 pm they're packed. Two in our party had the fried grouper tacos. The toppings were fresh and the crispy grouper was fried to perfection. I had a pork loin sandwich on a soft brioche bun with a side of fresh Brussels sprouts. But the real gems here are the desserts! Jo, the manager, gets there early every morning and bakes luscious layer cakes, pies, cheesecakes, banana puddings, strawberry shortcakes and more delectable treats. We shared a piece of banana layer cake and Jo kindly brought over a serving of the best bread pudding I've ever tasted, served warm with a lovely sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I got an order of meat loaf and mashed potatoes to go for hubby, and a slice of apple pie cheesecake. Heaven on a plate, and these desserts are less than $6 each. Best value in town, but they sell out on Friday, so get yours while you can! Can't wait to go back!

Cute little quaint restaurant that is new to the sweet town in Middleburg Florida. It's in a shopping center next to a Goodwill. That is the only thing I can think of that would be negative, but not really negative. Just confusing because you don't expect it to be such a dang, good restaurant! This was one of the best dinners I've had in a long time and especially since I moved to Florida!

Crispy Mahi Tacos appetizer was amazing!

The mahi tacos and dessert were delicious ! Even though we enjoyed the desserts they are overpriced, but the rest of the menu was very reasonable. .I love how they decorated and the mural is beautiful. Friendly staff and fast service.

All of their closing times listed online are apparently incorrect. Went through the drive thru last…read morenight, on a Monday, at 10 o'clock, where I was ignored at the intercom and then at the window. There were three employees inside "cleaning up", two of which promptly hid when I pulled up to the window instead of approaching to say they were closed/that their hours were incorrect. Online it states they're open until 11 PM most nights, including Monday, but the manager called back to tell me they are apparently supposed to close at 10 PM all nights except Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, when they stay open until 11 PM. I'm not sure if they're being dishonest to keep from getting a negative review, or if their online system is just terribly outdated, as they've always been open until 11 PM as far as I've known. Regardless of the times - which I honestly just want others to be aware of so they don't waste their own time like I did - I believe the way the situation was handled by the two employees was incredibly unprofessional and rude. Not only did they wave at me and then proceed to not say a single word, they hid from view when I cam to the window to ask if they were open. I understand that a lot of associates expect people to freak out, but regardless, it's their job to ensure the customer is taken care of and served. All they had to do was open the window, OR simply say over the intercom, "Hey, I'm very sorry, but we're closed." And I would've driven away then instead of sitting and wasting 10 minutes of my time. Great food but lazy and unprofessional employees, as well as a manager that doesn't seem to care what her employees do.

So this is more for Corporate than the actual store. I just dropped a little under $17 for a meal,…read moreyes it was Large, the #3 meal to be exact. When I got home, I was pretty disappointed in the size of the chicken patty. When these first came out the patty overflowed from the bun and it was crispy and crunched when you bit into it. Apparently, not so much anymore. Patty didn't even make it past the circumference of the bun and that's stretching it. Most places, I get it, it's not gonna look like the picture, it's something the consumer has to live with, but their patty used to look like the picture when you got it, what happened? Rising costs? You already pass that to the consumer, why increase the cost and shrink the patty? You guys did a reverse Grinch's heart thing, you shrank three sizes. Bring back the bigger patty, for once do the right thing for the consumer and not out of corporate greed. Also, Service at the drive through was great and friendly, good job to them.
