Went to Kritikos with my wife and two friends when in Madrid two weeks ago, excellent experience…read morefor Greek food within Madrid! Food: the food was very light but flavorful. The saganaki was decent, but the chicken souvlaki (souvlaki kotopoulo) was amazing. My friends frequently asked for pita as well. Service: Niko was a great waiter and was on top of everything, hopefully didn't think we were typical American tourists. Ambiance: nice quiet location right off of the Chueca line, beautiful inside and ample seating.

We went on a slow Wednesday night at 8:30. The interior was decorated in a cute, slightly Greek-inspired way. What I ordered: we got the hummus, falafel, and eggplant tapas. Every single dish was perfectly-made. The falafel wasn't too greasy, which I feel is a problem with some falafel. The hummus was so fresh and delicious and the eggplant tapas were fresh and full of flavor! The food came out super quickly and our waiter was very nice! My friend also got a glass of wine that was light, crisp, and their house white. She loved it! I loved this restaurant and will surely be back!

We managed to get the last place to sit. What I ordered: all I got was the feta fries. They were less than 4€ and were delicious! They were perfectly crisp, seasoned, and had the perfect amount of feta on them. I have no idea about the other dishes, but I would go back alone just for the fries! (I gave it 4 stars because the restaurant itself could have been more unique and it was great, but I don't think it deserves a full 5 stars.)

I love you tortilla española, but I can only eat so many eggs. I ordered the hamburger suvlaki, the cheese fries, and my boyfriend got the pork suvlaki. All were delicious and so cheap. My favorite was the hamburger suvlaki because it's a mix of both ground up beef and lamb meat. The mustard and egg were an interesting, but GENIUS combination. I'm drooling just thinking about it. The pork suvlaki was also delicious, and I loved that it included tzatziki sauce. However, it tasted like a plain gyro and wasn't as unique as the hamburger version. The cheese fries were also great, but could have been more crunchy and had some kind of sauce over them as feta makes everything pretty dry. Overall, a great experience. I would recommend Egeo to anyone who wants a cheap and delicious break from Spanish food.

I spend a good deal of time at this market, and have always been impressed and pleased with…read moreExargia. Funny, I didn't even know its name until I picked up a business card; it was always just "the Greek place" to us. I decided to write a review because the owner greeted my girlfriend and I one day, and was thrilled that we were Americans. I have never had that experience. He explained that he really wanted to go, and was so kind to us that I'd like to talk a little about his kiosk. We have a sort of religious fealty to Exargia's moussaka. It's what we get every time we visit. It's mild and boasts remarkable texture - guess it helps that a Greek is over the stove. I think it's four Euros for a big helping and a couple pieces of flat-bread/pita. We've also had excellent luck with the sauces plate, which is a sampler of what's on display: tzatziki, pureed eggplant, and another...pureed kalamatas? Not sure, but it's all delicious if you're in the mood for Greek food. This place also vends some super-cheap and super-sweet Greek wine product. I think it's two euros a bottle and although I haven't bought one, it looks too sweet for me. Next time I'm in the mood for a hangover I'll have to pick up a bottle. It's not easy to find Greek food in Lavapies, but this place is a great step toward filling that gap.
Moussaka. Trust me: you're going to want to try this. For me, it's one of the best deals quality/price-wise in the whole market.
