They have been consistent with my escrow account to where adjustments were not needed as well. My main reason for this review though is that we just closed on buying a new home and used Colonial again. Things were getting shaky as to whether we were going to close on our home on time and we felt like our home deal might fall through if our closing got delayed. I contacted the company vice president John Farrell and things started flying faster than could ever have been expected by my wife and I. After a few whirlwind days we ended up closing on time and are very excited to be moving into our dream home. I don't think that if we were doing business with one of the "Too Big to Fail" banks that we could have received this kind of assistance and we would definitely recommend going with Colonial for anyone's mortgage needs.

I'm glad I took a chance and called the main # in Fort Worth. Pat took all the info over the phone, locked in my rate that day, had the papers sent to my home that week. She set up the closing at the nearest Colonial location to my office, where Susan Mills (the title agent) did a great job of completing all the paperwork with me over my lunch hour. The entire process, from the first phone call to the closing, took 24 days. Everything went so smoothly, and I attribute that to Pat's expertise and knowledge. I have been through several home mortgages and refinances with other properties in the past, and this was the absolute best experience I have had to date. It took a month to execute a contract. A lot of back and forth with the seller taking a long time to respond on every communication. Finally, they responded to our final offer with a counter that mirrored our original offer with 1 exception. We don't know how much the agent was involved in making this part difficult, it was maddening. FYI, we were not proposing hard terms. We offered full price with a nice multiple $K kicker if we couldn't close. Once under contract we ordered an inspection. The report showed significant issues with a pool leak, hail damaged AC's and hail damaged gutters. All of this was visible to the agent unless she wears blinders and was not disclosed by the seller. We are not happy with the sellers and even more unhappy with their agent who has an ethical obligation to point out when the disclosure is not accurate. Additionally, when the deal was going south the seller stated "If you terminate the agreement prior to the expiration of the option period, we will not contest the full refund of your earnest money." A bullshit statement because they had no legal right to contest the escrow. Clearly coached by their agent to try and scare me to exit the contract. Buyer be aware when dealing with any property this agent represents, ensure you pay for top notch inspector. This agent has another property listed near the above property and she is the reason we won't consider it. The above is my personal experience and may not apply to all properties represented by this agent. UPDATE The Seller had agreed to refund my $200 option fee, but agent wouldn't allow this to happen unless I removed this review of my experience with her. Keeping it classy in Flower Mound Stephanie.
