I have racked up HUNDREDS of dollars within a matter of days by simply being late a few hours. THEY WILL START THE EVICTION PROCESS THAT DAY AND TELL YOU YOU HAVE 3 DAYS TO VACATE THE PROPERTY by taping a white envelope to the front door window! "My in-law died, may a have a little more time?" "Yes. (pause) Time's up!" They come into the property once a month to "change the filters" aka spy on you (the owner admitted this much to me) even if you haven't used the A/C or heating unit. You are given unreasonable deadlines for a laundry list of possible violations including a fee for having to come out and fix things on the property. If you don't change your smoke detector battery: FINE!! If they have to fix anything in there you are subject to a fee for repair whether you broke it or not. "Did you read the lease? It's in there..." They REALLY LOVE the lease. Like, in an unhealthy way. You have to do what the manager says when they say and don't talk back or FINE! They follow up within the predetermined unreasonable time, just like a warden and if it doesn't meet their white glove standards: FINE!! I have never been so happy to move out of a home in my life!
