In fact, it's a lot easier to list the features that this station DOESN'T have: No Restrooms No ATM No Ticket Office No Lounge No Elevator No Quik-Trak kiosk No Payphone No Wi-Fi No Lockers That said, this station does have train tracks, so it gets the job done.

The land here isn't as flat as it is in Texas, so you don't have 20 miles of driving up to it to have some building Cross tension. This cross is at the intersection of the two major highways, Interstate 70 (between Indianapolis and Saint Louis) and Interstate 57 (between Champaign and Sikeston). It is only visible from the near vicinity and it is accessed through an industrial office park with good signage. At the base of the cross is a gravel parking lot that is big enough for the largest of vehicles. There are plaques for each of the Ten Commandments and a donation box next to the visitor's center. There is a walking path and some landscaping nearby so you can absolutely get the perfect photo opportunity with the pitchfork. I pulled up the van to get a picture for scale and then found a better parking space so that people who didn't want to see my Sprinter van could get their shots. I would encourage you to do the same and think of the other visitors who don't want you in their photos. Other than the restaurant, there isn't much else here. When was the last time you were like, "I'm in downtown Urbana, where can I park?" I can tell you…read moreexactly the last time it was for me, it was when the parking deck was closed. This parking garage has it all. What are you looking for? A place to park? It's got it. A place to stand and wait for the bus, because you don't have a car? It's got that too! Do you want a dry place to have a cigarette while you are enjoying the dining experiences that downtown Urbana has got? Guess what, this place has (literally) got you covered! Located conveniently behind the back doors of some fine restaurants (Sitara, Crane Alley) this is some of the most expedient parking you will ever come across. I'd assume most of the day it is used by people at the court house, people who aren't regulars at the court house. At least for the paid spots. There are plenty (probably too many) rental spots during the day, but after 6, it's basically a free for all. And it's literally a free for all, since after 6 and on weekends, you don't have to pay. Not that it's paying that much, because it's only 25 cents for the first 2 hours and 50 cents an hour after that. So, the most you'd pay is if you showed up at opening and left at 5:59. Stick around for another 5 minutes and it's a day of free parking! Thanks URBANA! They have recently installed a bike fixing station, so if you have something on your bike that needs repair, you can be your own pit crew in the garage! Heck, if you are just looking for a place to work out during lunch, you can run up and down the stairs for a while (there are 2 stories!!!) It used to be the home of the Urbana Beer and Chili Cookoff, which later became the Urbana Beer and Food Truck... thingy. It was a place to get out of the rain when Urbana Blues Brews and BBQ still was in Urbana. (Odd, Urbana Blues Brews and BBQ is in Champaign, as is the Bloomington Gold Corvette Show) I think my favorite part of the garage is when you go to leave, coming from the east side, and you have to make sure you drive up on the right, so you don't go into another person who really wants to use this awesome parking deck! Apparently, it's currently undergoing construction to maintain the integrity of the structure. So, this pretty girl is getting all done up for you!

No longer an active bridge as it's been replaced by a boring concrete bridge with no pizazz or fanciness. There is a marker on the bridge that provides some context and history. It reads, "The road on which this bridge is located was once an important route between Springfield and Effingham. The bridge was completed in the Autumn of 1868 at a cost of $2,500 and named for the owner of the first mill near here. It is the narrowest of all the covered bridges in Illinois, with a width of only 10 feet 7 inches. It is 11 feet 4 inches high and the siding stops before reaching the top cord to allow light to come in under the roof. The Howe Truss system, which the bridge uses, consists of panels in which two members cross one diagonal. The truss of this bridge is 105 feet long. The roof of the bridge protected the truss from the weather." It points out that the marker was erected by the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Historical Society in 1972. The north side of the bridge has a parking area that was easy to access. The bridge itself is in fair condition, covered in graffiti and the area is overgrown with weeds. Entered the Amtrak Train Station in St. Louis Mo and it was horrible…read more Boarded a 8:00am train from stl to chi expecting to be able to private s snack or something during the ride but there was only. We were informed that the riders in the rooms on the lower level are guaranteed food but not for people in coach. I should have gotten something to eat before boarding but street much investigation I was informed that there is a diner on the train where food can be purchased only to get in here and be told the food is only for people in the rooms, not coach. We are in the last train and there is an announcer but we can't here anything that's he's saying, it just sounds mumbled. I am a diabetic and am worrying about my sugar levels dropping to low since the only thing I've had since last night is a bag of chips. Please do not get in the train expecting to be able to purchase food because there is none to purchase, nothing. This ride has proven to me that the train is just 1 step above Greyhound and at jest with Greyhound you can get off and get food at the stops. Never again.

You don't have to wait long for your bags however they have what I think are public security guards of some sort in the front of the building or absolutely exercising authority, acting like police, being rude, unkind with people who are outside pulling up to pick up passengers. I understand it needs to keep moving however, you don't have to be rude, nasty or unkind or think you're a policeman of some sort. Also, the airport could use some kind of bus to take passengers to the parking lot. This would benefit, especially those with small children or the elderly. Of course they could charge for the service since we all know that one thing Allegiant is known for is the nickel and diming for every little thing. I think people would pay for a bus to take them to their car though.

There are only a couple of gates, so the security line moves very quickly and there's usually only 1 or 2 flights leaving around the same time, so there's like 100 people at the airport total! We flew out and back for the holidays and our stress level was next to nothing. (Which, if you know us, is like, amazing.) I'm from a small western city and am used to these smaller places that have only the basics and get the job done. Not every place needs to be Minneapolis. (IYKYK) But if you've never been to an airport like this, it might elicit a giggle or at least a smile because of its size. That said, it's updated and clean and bright. Plenty of stalls in the ladies room (go to the left! There's more stalls over there!) So easy, so clean and simple. I liked it a lot more than the hustle over at Lambert. Downsides: not much to eat or browse, but it's not nothing. There's a small magazine/snack/gum store. There's no Starbucks or other name-brands, but there is a nice little cafe and a good staff making hot breakfast sandwiches or grilled cheeses or lattes. But c'mon, if you're flying a discount airline are you really concerned about the brand of coffee? Anyway, 4 shiny stars.
