Their curriculum builds confidence, curiosity, and joy, and our boys came home excited to share what they learned. NextGen sparked in both of them a deep love for learning, creating, and exploring. They learned how to express and advocate for themselves, respect others' space, and understand that everything--from routines to rules--has a purpose. We also truly appreciated the warm family community we've gotten to know over the years--many, like us, returning to enroll younger siblings. NextGen set a strong foundation for our kids to be successful in their next chapter--we see this in our eldest son who is still thriving as a second grader. Based on my observations in person and via the school cameras that parents have access to, this is not a developmentally appropriate environment. This is a developmentally restrictive environment. Children are subject to sit in one spot and entertain themselves with one small item that is given to them by a staff member that fits in their hand without any teacher interaction. Children's hands are not being washed before meal times or sanitized. In some cases, perhaps only being sanitized instead of using soap and water while soap and water and sinks are readily available and accessible, subjecting children to harmful chemicals. Meal times are served without having water or milk present on the tables, or any napkins or utensils available on the table for children. Children's are not offered or allowed to have water or milk while they eat because as I was told by a teacher there they don't want children to fill up on water and milk and not eat, however you cannot withhold water from children. That is a violation. harmful cleaning chemicals are used to sanitize classrooms and children are then brought inside the classrooms, being exposed to the damaging lingering orders. Teacher engagement and interaction is very limited, during meal times or free play teachers do not engage with children instead they chat with one another. These were just a few of the things that I observed on site and via the school cameras.

We toured a few preschools but we didn't want a home daycare and some of the more institutionalized schools were incredibly expensive. The Learning Place was a nice in-between where it was more structured than a home daycare but less expensive than a more institutional school. At around $1,000 a month for 7am-6pm program we thought it was a great deal. The school has a nice outside playground with shade and cushioning a nice little playground. In our time there they did upgrade the playground to have shade and padding which was nice. Inside it is very clean and they separate the kids by age. There are two doors between the outside and the school so it is secure. They have an iPad check in and check out system. We chose the Learning Place because the director, Ms. Enereyda (Ms. E) is incredibly warm and friendly. I can't say enough positive things about Ms. E. We also liked that she speaks both Spanish and English and we could chat with her in Spanish. The other teachers like Ms. Veronica and Ms. Melina are incredibly warm and friendly as well. We always had very positive interactions with the teachers. We always felt that our daughter was in good hands at The Learning Place. I initially signed her up here because I was working in Glendale. After a year I began work somewhere else but kept her at Learning Place even though we lived in Sherman Oaks. We liked this place very much. Overall - - I highly recommend the Learning Place. We loved our 2 years there.

Especially on holidays (Halloween, Easter, Christmas, etc.), they plan fun activities, games, and decorations for the kids to enjoy. Also, the school does a great job in keeping parents informed of upcoming events and activities. I will continue to refer friends to Wonder Years!

From the very beginning, Sevan was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, guiding us through the transition with a thoughtful plan to help our daughter (and us!) adjust. She checked in with us daily for the first couple of weeks, sending photos and videos to reassure us. Since starting daycare, my daughter's vocabulary has grown immensely, and her manners have improved too! She comes home every day with adorable crafts, coloring pages, and new phrases she's learned. Drop-offs are filled with happy, excited kids, and my daughter loves sharing stories about her friends and caregivers--Sevan, Jenni, and Charmaine. The team at Tiny Footsteps is not only caring but also incredibly supportive. They always take the time to listen and offer valuable parenting advice. She is my only child and I was hesitant on even putting her in school this early. That being said, this place is AMAZING!!! My daughter not only LOVES going to school but she cries when it's time to pick her up!! Everything about this school blew my mind. Not only are the teachers sooo caring and patient with the children but they also put this paranoid mama at ease!! They have cameras that are so well placed everywhere that my child plays. I log on anytime I'm feeling anxious and see her playing. They also have an app where they update what your child did that day and upload photos!!! I am so very impressed by all the fun extra activities that the school brings each week for the kiddos. Last week they had a foam party, this week they had a reptile exhibit come to the school. I can't wait to see what is in store for the future! They feed the kids 2 meals and 2 snacks a day, which are healthy. I see them line the kids up to wash hands before and after they eat. Zara, the director, is wonderful -- so kind, personable, and lovely to interact with, and it really makes a difference to feel that level of care and openness from leadership. Our daughter loves her teachers and is clearly absorbing so much from her environment. Mrs Rose, the lead of the Koala class, has been so great! Our daughter will come home acting out or trying to sing songs she learned at school, and it's obvious that what she experiences during the day really stays with her. She also looks up to the older kids in her class, and we've been told she's gentle with the younger ones -- which is so sweet to hear. She's getting stimulation, structure, and social development that we definitely couldn't have matched or replicated at home. GCS has given her such a strong foundation during a really important stage of her life. Another thing I really appreciate is how thoughtful they are around food. GCS was one of the only schools we found that would refrigerate and heat up lunches, which made it much easier and more pleasant to prepare good, healthy lunches every day. We've since switched to their lunch program though, which offers a rotating menu of daily home-cooked, nutritious food -- and our daughter LOVES it. She regularly finishes her portions and asks for seconds. Sometimes you can smell the food cooking during drop-off, and it smells amazing! We are unfortunately transitioning out for reasons unrelated to our experience here, and it's so so hard to leave. I'm really sad about it. From day one, we felt the love, care, and intention behind everything they do. This school provides a nurturing, safe, and genuinely loving environment. Safety is our top priority: the children are closely supervised, the environment is secure, and it's clear how deeply the staff cares about each child's well-being. The teachers are incredibly(!)--I can't stress it enough--patient and intentional, never taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Our daughter is seen and supported as an individual, with teachers taking the time to understand her needs and personality. A special thank you to Zara, whose calm and caring energy has made a huge difference in our daughter's growth. Another thing we really appreciate is the school's teaching philosophy. They blend Montessori methods with Piaget's critical thinking principles to create a child-led curriculum centered around what they call the 5 C's--critical thinking, communication, compassion, creativity, and collaboration. While academics are part of the program, what matters most to us is how our child is learning. My 3-year-old daughter often plays "Mrs. Ninette" at home, and through her play I can see how much she admires her. It showed me that Mrs. Ninette is a natural leader -- she keeps discipline in the classroom while making learning fun. She organizes creative activities for the kids, like bringing ladybugs into the classroom, cooking together, or doing simple experiments. Twice a week, the children also have singing classes with Mrs. Anahit, where they learn beautiful Armenian songs chosen with great taste. Thanks to the teachers' hard work, the children were able to put on two wonderful performances -- for Christmas and Graduation -- where they sang, danced, and recited poems. It's clear to me that working with children is something Mrs. Ninette is truly passionate about, and that's why she does her job so well.
