There are a number of both desirable and admirable qualities possessed by Dr. Kinzler that are…read morehighly appreciated from my perspective (as a recent patient of his over the past couple of months), which will be more fully described in this honest assessment, as follows: Dr. Kinzler genuinely cared about my personal outcome as his new patient; he thoroughly explained all the principles of Urology 101 that applied to my unique situation; he even called me at night on two separate occasions to checkup on me! After I had two separate Urologists retire from the profession, I began a quest to find a replacement, since it was about three years ago that my last Urologist had retired. I was advised by my Cardiologist that Dr. Kinzler was a really good Urologist (was he ever so right and I am extremely elated that I had chosen him)! When I paid a visit to my family doctor for a routine visit, he suspected that I had retention of urine in my bladder (after he finger probed my belly), so he ordered a bladder scan. Shortly thereafter I selected Dr. Kinzler as my new Urologist. After my first office visit with Dr. Kinzler, I felt he was both caring and thorough in explaining the urinary functions. He ordered a kidney scan (in addition to the bladder scan ordered by my family doctor). When I went to see Dr. Kinzler in a follow up visit following the scan, I had given his nurse a urine sample, which was unfortunately brownish in color (which was a sign of kidney stones), so Dr. Kinzler ordered a Cat Scan of my bladder and kidneys. As soon as the results of that Cat Scan were given to Dr. Kinzler, he immediately had me come to his office that day (which was on a Tuesday), when he said that the scan revealed a large kidney stone (that wouldn't be able to pass in my urinary tract), which is rather serious. He said that the stone would need to be obliterated with laser surgery that he recommended be performed on Thursday that same week. I agreed to the urgent necessity of the surgery, so I wouldn't have to endure any extremely painful effects if the kidney stone would drop, which would entirely block urine flow! The surgery was a success!

Since I had a growth in my thyroid, I was intrigued. It was very Susan Pewter "Stop the Insanity"! I thought it was humorous, but also hit a chord with my beliefs to find "nontraditional" ways to treat illness. It summarized the book, which was about treating the thyroid in an unconventional way -with natural supplements and herbs instead of drugs so commonly used. On the back, it showcased Dr. Fred Schultz, M.D, who practices an integrative approach to healing -using "traditional" methods as well as herbal supplementation, nutritional recommendations and a "healthy living" approach. He has successfully treated a variety of patients with multiple sclerosis, cancer and chronic fatigue syndrome to name a few. I took the flyer off the wall and kept it for reference, planning one day to visit. As I continued on my mission to heal myself from several serious issues, I found it was the right time to pay a visit. Even though Dr. Schultz is booked 3 months out, I was put on the waiting list and got a call a few days later. It was fate! It was a 6pm appointment so I would be able to go after work. He is located in Wheaton in a very nice professional building, right off Roosevelt Rd. My appointment was approximately an hour and a half! Dr. Schultz spent the time necessary with me to go over all my records and discuss, in detail, what my symptoms were. We put together a plan and I will go for a follow up in several weeks. What I liked most is that his approach is to find the root cause of why I'm having so many issues. It is easy to say, "You have 'xyz', here are some drugs." He actually pointed out things in my records that no one had addressed. I was actually embarrassed I had not seen those red flags myself. I learned it is important to be an advocate for your own health and READ your own records! I am very grateful for the experience and am excited to update this review with good news to a speedy recovery!

He has treated three generations of our…read morefamily because we all first saw how fantastically he got my granddaughter back from a terribly serious case of Lyme Disease. Her family had taken her all over the Chicagoland area...the next step would have been Mayo Clinic. No one was able to diagnose her correctly much less treat her and to the point of complete recovery. She was fourteen then and this May of 2017 she graduates from college. After that, he straightened out her thyroid problems. Since then, both her mother and I have been treated for Lyme disease and thyroid issues. Her mother also has other issues having to do with sclerotic inner tissues. He's the best and so are his staff. In my case, I travel a considerable distance for his services. Now my GP asks me when he wants me to run something by Dr. Schultz.... not because my GP is incompetent, but because he, too, has come to have great respect for the diagnostic skills of Dr. Schultz.

I'd suggest you take a look at some of the reviews on some other medically oriented sites, and you'll find that she has a very avid following. I have…read morelived in this town for 36 years, and I know of at least six families that will tell you that his analytical/medical skills identified issues other doctors had missed, resulting in lives saved. I know of case after case where his dedication and personal involvement saved lives - one of those people being my wife. Even other doctors in our town recognize him as a world-class diagnostician. He has connections with top surgeons from Mayo to Northwestern. He calls his patients on weekends when necessary and is the most devoted medical practitioner I have ever seen. How sad that social media allows moronic statements, untrue statements, to be made about a man who has, by my personal knowledge, devoted his life to saving and improving the lives of others.

I am not "normal" when it comes to medical issues, and they both are really good at figuring out me, rather than just looking at the textbook responses. My quality of life has increased exponentially since finding them and having them in my corner, medically speaking. In addition to the doctors, the PAs, Becky & Grace, are both so kind and wonderful, and they make it feel like a family there. Dr. Oswald and her nurse were condescending during multiple contacts and told me that I was inventing her symptoms and refused to discuss treatment options. Dr. Oswald was often rushed and didn't have time to finish appointments and prescribed me a medication that I did not need while rushing out the door. She also prescribed a medication for my daughter that was not the FDA approved medication for the medical issue that she was experiencing.
