Masarap ang manok. Believe me you will like it. And it is affordable. But I'm not a fan of the sauce they have.

I've heard so much about Aling Lucing's restaurant and decided to come by and check it out. You…read moreknow its good when they are busy and there is a wait to be seated. The restaurant itself is a decent size, more of a hole in the wall type place. The staff are nice and move fairly quickly with our orders and getting our food. The food was delicious. We ordered the crispy kare kare, dinaguan, sizzling sisig, (which they are known for) and everything was good! The only reason why I did not give a 5 star rating is because of the cramped spaces and tendency for bugs:s/flies coming in since the restaurant is open and not enclosed. But for the food, its worth it.

The original Sisig lives up to the hype. The sizzling platter comes with the mixed bits of fat and…read morepig parts, it's an amazing combination. Even better when adding some Calamansi and a bowl of rice. It was the best Sisig I have ever had. The lechon kawali at Aling Lucing is solid as well. My biggest beef with this restaurant is they don't have half the items on the menu. The bulaklak chicharon wasn't available. The Kate-Kare wasn't available. I imagine it's hard to run a business without having half the menu. Fortunately they had the namesake Sisig. Overall food was good but whoever is in charge of the restaurant food ingredients needs help.

Juniors are basically smaller portions and entrees that start at 215 Philippines Pesos or $3.64. I love this concept because it definitely allowed us to order a variety without having too much. Smaller portions at affordable price to share but more variety for the win! We chose to get Lechon Kare Kare, Tortang Talong and Pancit Palabok. For about $3-$4 the small portions were actually pretty big and quite sufficient for two people. I tried the Lechon Kare Kare first. The Lechon was perfectly crisp. I enjoyed that crunch. They gave lots of the Kare Kare broth which was perfect over white rice. I loved how much broth there was but I was disappointed with the taste. I couldn't really taste the peanut butter flavor. The dish was a bit on the bland side. On the opposite side was the Pancit Palabok. It wasn't bland but unfortunately they put too much salt and it was salty! I enjoyed the long silky noodles and eggs but the flavoring was just off for this. The Tortang Talong or eggplant omelette dish ended up being the best dish. Tortang Talong has always been one of my favorite Filipino dishes and I'm happy to say they did a good job with this dish. I loved that they even added some ground meat inside the omelette. Overall Gerry's Grill was ok. Price wise was a win- it was about $17 for 3 dishes and white rice. Tastewise however I only liked the Tortang Talong.

AMERICAN THANKSGIVING PANDEMIC STYLE…read more I called around to see where the best deal on a Thanksgiving meal was: American Legion 123 in Balibago was the winner. Anticipating a crowd, hubby and I went early (9:30am) and had planned for take out. Luckily for us, the indoor dining room had only one other customer, so we decided to stay. Masks are mandatory for entrance. We were greeted warmly by the vivacious masked staff, temps taken, we registered in their log book and sanitized our hands. We sat down at a table with a plastic screen in between us, right in front of their widescreen tv, which was set to the American Forces Network channel. Oldies were playing on the radio, WiFi was strong, as well as the aircon. I overheard one of the staff say that they had a lot of take out orders. When I emailed prior to find out if they were offering a Thanksgiving meal, they mentioned that they will serve it until their supply runs out. MEAL INCLUDED - Turkey - meat tender but bland, gravy bland until I added salt and pepper. The turkey with the pumped up gravy, cranberry sauce and stuffing was a delicious bite. - Ham topped with a pineapple segment - thick slice that's tender with decent flavor - Stuffing had great flavor but was on the mushy side - sweet potatoes were ok - Vegetable mix was standard from frozen imo. - roll was soft and fluffy - Sweet potato pie was DELISH, so much more better than their Pumpkin pie. Decent American Thanksgiving meal at a decent price.
