Once we found the right shaft length for me, everything changed and the ball started to jump off of the club with ease. It is a huge, multi-leveled store with lots of space to walk around and escalators or elevators to easily move from floor to floor. They have every kind of sports apparel and fan wear for men, women, and even kids. (I was also impressed that they had full-figure mannequins displaying sportswear all throughout the store.). In addition to sports clothing, they have every type of sports equipment, from golf clubs, and tennis racquets, to bicycles & kayaks. I've made two trips to this store - the first one with very good customer service, the second one with not so good customer service. Having never purchased golf clubs before, I went to Play It Again Sports on the recommendation of a few colleagues. On my first trip, I was referred to an employee who was very knowledgable about golf. The employee did an excellent job answering my questions and was able to set me up with a used set of irons and a putter, while giving me a good explanation of different products in the store. I returned for a second trip after my driver broke, expecting more good service. I asked one of the employees if they fix golf clubs. He abruptly told me that clubs are not fixed, and spoke in an attitude that he didn't want to be bothered. I asked if he knew where I could fix clubs, and he shot back that I should check Google. Then, I asked him if someone could help me decide if I should buy a new club instead of fixing it - which was when he sent me to the golf club section to figure it out on my own. I would expect an employee at a store that sells sporting goods, but doesn't fix them, should know where to fix sporting goods (the answer, which I got from another source, is PGA Superstore or a club repair shop at a local golf course). At the very least, I should be referred to another employee in the store who would know - if not information on repair, at least information on what I could purchase as a replacement. If I knew what to buy, I would go to Amazon instead of going to the store. And to be honest, I would recommend that you shop on Amazon instead of coming here. Good customer service which was sadly followed by an episode of very crummy customer service. I'd much rather spend more money at a place that treats me better than save a buck coming here.

When I stated that I would be posting a Yelp review regarding the experience, he replied "thank you very much" in a sarcastic manner. As I turned to leave, he began calling my name loudly and aggressively. I exited the store. I later contacted Academy Sports corporate customer service and spoke with an individual named Sev, who identified himself as a Customer Service Supervisor. I explained the entire situation. He expressed concern and stated that he would call me back the same day. I did not receive a call back. When I contacted customer service again, I was told that Sev had emailed me. It was later determined the email had been sent to the wrong address. Once I finally received the email at the correct address, I was informed that he was too busy to call me. This experience gave the clear impression that my complaint was not taken seriously and was simply dismissed. Customer service at both the store and corporate levels was disappointing. For comparison, I have shopped at the Academy Sports location in Cumming, Georgia, and received excellent service there. Unfortunately, that was not the case at this location.
