It seems most issues reported on here were related to extra procedures aside from standard cleanings but I can't speak to that. The Good: I don't love going to the dentist and admittedly I've been spoiled most of my life having my best friend's dad as my dentist. I have one area of anxiety with regards to getting x-rays but the hygienist tended to it right away and made the experience as comfortable as possible. I wish I could remember her name because she was so good at what she did and so nice! The lady who met me right before the hygienist came in was also very sweet and welcoming (wish I could remember names). Bree and Regan at the front desk are very friendly and helpful as well! I love that they would occasionally text me to offer appointments that would come up to see if I could get in sooner than my regular appointment. I personally loved the vibe of the office, too. Shiny and modern with good music playing at a louder volume than most places. They also had a tv in front of your dental chair (and on the ceiling to watch when you're fully reclined) with Netflix to watch while you're getting your cleaning. For me, it really helped to ease any anxiety I had and those extra aesthetic touches really went a long way for me. Dr. Susan was my dentist and she was very warm, friendly, and spent time talking with me about some issues I will need to address down the road but I did not feel she, or anyone, was trying to upsell me on something I didn't need as some reviews have suggested. And, as long as you keep to regular appointments, you get a free teeth whitening kit to take home with you! The Meh: they are pricey! While I only came in for standard x-rays and a cleaning, I will need to address my TMJ at some point with Botox (estimated at $400 something) and nighttime aligners (estimated around $600)- none of which are covered by insurance. And, since they're all about comfort dental, they offer laughing gas for highly anxious people but it's $150. It's not Pearl's fault these things aren't covered by insurance but it seems really difficult for many to be able to afford these treatments. Maybe payment plans could be an option? If you have deeper pockets, there should be no issue here for you! The Bad: nothing noted! I really enjoyed my experience for my cleaning and looking forward to the next in 6 months!

I'm incredibly disappointed with the lack of transparency and the sales tactics at this office…read more Every visit feels more like a commission-based sales floor than a healthcare environment. The upselling is constant and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, they have applied treatments and used deposits on our account without clearly explaining the costs or getting my consent first. My husband has had the exact same experience with unauthorized charges and constant pitches for procedures. They make it seem like you are losing all your teeth if you don't agree to their suggestions immediately, yet other dentists later told him those procedures were unnecessary. Even when his expensive implant crown failed shortly after the procedure, they offered no accountability and simply charged him again for a 10-minute fix. We will be taking our business elsewhere to a dentist who cares about patients, not just hitting a sales quota.

Stay away from Pearl Dentistry Reimagined if you value honesty, transparency, or basic integrity…read more This place is hands down the most aggressively money-driven dental office I've ever experienced. Every single visit turns into a sales pitch, fluoride, fillings, floss, night guards, or something new every time. The pressure they put on you is uncomfortable and honestly embarrassing. It feels less like healthcare and more like walking into a commission-based sales floor. They will charge you without properly communicating. They applied fluoride without clearly explaining or getting consent, then billed for it. They did the exact same thing to my wife on a separate visit and even used a deposit I had on file without telling me. No heads-up, no discussion, just charges. My wife didn't even realize what they had done. Some of the staff are nice and seem quite friendly but you can tell they have been pressured to cross sell and you can tell themselves they feel uncomfortable having to do that. Who is seriously running / managing this place....if its not a marketing agency. And it doesn't stop there. I paid thousands for Invisalign, yet they still push a $500 night guard like it's necessary. They constantly "find" new fillings you supposedly need, every visit there's something. At one point they even recommended redoing a filling they themselves had done just a year prior, and of course wanted to charge again. I got multiple second opinions, and other dentists disagreed with nearly everything they were pushing. The worst part was my implant crown. Within months, it became loose while I was eating soft food. I had paid thousands for these procedures, even after insurance coverage. I could have swallowed it. I reached out immediately and they couldn't see me for two weeks. When I finally went in, instead of taking responsibility for their work, they charged me $100 just to walk in (after I explained I no longer had insurance) and then total $255 for a 10-minute fix to tighten something that should not have failed that quickly in the first place. No apology. No accountability. Just another bill. That's when it became clear -this place will find any possible way to charge you, no matter the situation. I have never seen a medical office this hungry to take your money. Unbelievable! What makes it worse is that I referred people here, and they came back to me with the same complaints: constant upselling, questionable diagnoses, and feeling like they're being pushed into unnecessary treatments. I'm honestly frustrated I didn't listen to them sooner. I am definitely joining them and sharing my experience, so they also leave because now I believe them more than ever, looking back and trying to connect all these dots. If you're considering anything serious like crowns or implants, DO NOT go here. If they recommend anything, get second opinion but sooner or later you will realize if they care for your interest or theirs. These are procedures that are supposed to last, and based on my experience, they don't stand behind their work. They will gladly charge you again instead. How do I know they don't do that ton purpose do you'd come back and bring more money to them!? Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually cares about patients, not just squeezing every dollar out of them

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Plaza Midwood Dentistry and Dr. Hart, hygienists/techs like Weslynn, as well as their front office. I came in looking like a gremlin honestly, my teeth were in terrible shape. They worked out a plan to focus on the cavities first, then crowns and implants, but I wasn't expecting the huge difference, even with the temporary cosmetic stuff they did (I'm not a dentist so I don't know the right name for it). After my last appointment, I cried when I looked in the mirror and asked for a hug. Went home and cried some more because I was so happy. Sent pictures to my best friends and family. People who see me and know me comment on my smile all the time. They are some of the most caring and understanding people in the business. I've been to many dentists and oral surgeons after my childhood dentist retired. These folks are by far my favorite. We still have a ways to go to get all the work done, but I will always be so appreciative of how hard they work and how well they do it. Heck, I even get blankets and my hand held when I'm being a wuss during a procedure! I'd definitely recommend.

She was bait and switched about the promise to not charge her a cancellation fee and then she was reminded of an old policy from 2011. Trouble is the document from 2011 mentioned 30 dollar fee when they have been trying to collect 50 For her cancellation. They are now calling it a copay when she doesn't even have any copay. This place is ran like a sweat shop at this point and they do not care about emergencies, if you can't show up you're forced to pay. My aunt is the caregiver to her sick husband who's on dialysis you would think that 911 would be sufficient it's not!! Here is how they had her pour her hard working heart out only to do nothing so stay away from this dentist trap !! "I have been a patient of yours longer than the current owners have been around and employees. I pay every cost that's quoted to me. My life changed in 2017 and I've been my husband caregiver since then, I am also the head of our household. I called to reschedule my appointment because he was not feeling well which I eventually took him to the emergency room. I asked for the $50.00 cancellation fee to be forgiven and was given the reason I I had one in 2020. I am very heartbroken and sad that your manager would not allow it. When she quoted what I owed without telling me the cost included the fee. I felt she was trying to slip it in . I didn't know until I asked to speak to the manager she ten acknowledge she was the manager. Why didn't she tell me upfront and discuss it with me instead of adding it in with the other charge? NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL.

Unprofessional Front Desk Experience - Lack of Openness to Feedback…read more I had called Uptown Premier Dental to schedule a new patient appointment. During the conversation, I mentioned a concern regarding the practice's response to a one-star review I had seen online. I found the response from the provider unprofessional, as it seemed to attack the patient rather than address the issue constructively. I offered a suggestion, stating that it would be more appropriate for them to edit the response to reflect professionalism, as this would deter fewer potential patients. Instead of appreciating the feedback, the front desk receptionist immediately suggested that I cancel my appointment if I didn't agree with their approach. I was taken aback by such a dismissive and unprofessional reaction. Needless to say, I canceled my appointment. A business unwilling to accept constructive criticism--especially from one provider to another--says a lot about their overall approach to patient care. The ability to grow and improve comes from learning to receive and apply feedback, something this practice clearly lacks. Given this experience and the number of negative reviews, I cannot recommend this dental office. I highly suggest reading *The New Gold Standard* by Joseph Michelli to better understand and implement customer service principles, which could benefit the team immensely. You can deny my experience however you want but the recorded call begs to differ.

Before my first appointment, I had to reach out to them a minimum of 5 times to change my name on the forms because it was incorrect. Then, at my initial appointment, despite another dentist saying I had 4 minor cavities and almost no plaque, SouthEnd claimed I had 10. They made 4 of them priority 2 cavities but said they were "preventative" and it was only a matter of time (for what?) and my insurance would cover it. My insurance did not. I told them to just do priority one for the next visit and when my insurance resets for the year I'll look at the "preventative" ones. They called me the day before the appointment to try to persuade me to do the other priority 2 preventative cavities. I needed a driver due to needing Valium because of needle phobia, which I appreciated the rx. I was told I needed a driver but was not told the driver had to stay the whole time? Annoying miscommunication but whatever. They said they needed my driver there in case something happened to me and because I was too intoxicated. However, after my procedure I was brought to the front desk. I could barely speak due to my mouth being numb and they then told me I needed a crown for one of my teeth, that I had to schedule the priority 2 cavities at that time, and that I needed to schedule a cleaning. I told them I just got a cleaning in January from a different office and they tried to tell me I had to schedule another one - the cleanings would have been less than 3 months apart and on the billing paperwork they showed me, it even said from my insurance company it wouldn't be covered because it was too close to a different cleaning. As she was talking to me, she told me I had money left on my insurance and that it would be covered, when again, on the paperwork, it clearly said maximum limit reached and that insurance would pay 0. I'm trying to explain this to them meanwhile I'm literally biting my tongue and can't talk because of the numbing - which is fine, but now is not the time to discuss this!!! So - they required that a driver stay on the premises because I'm "too sedated," yet they want me to agree to thousands of dollars of extra treatment when I'm "too sedated" and also can barely speak? Heck no. Borderline predatory. When I said no to the extra procedures, the billing woman was absolutely NASTY - rolled her eyes and the whole bit. Of course she never introduced herself so I can't put her name on here. Stay away. I repeat!!!! Stay away!!!!!
