Once I called back to see if I could get polish and paste (essential steps in a basic cleaning) they declined saying my oral hygiene was good enough and that they only give that to people with too much plaque.. last time I checked you get plaque nomatter how much you brush your teeth that's why you get a professional cleaning once every 6 months (and for me has been almost two years since I had) and I had to get a cavity filled and it was gonna be $95 out of pocket even though my insurance covered 80% but besides that they were nice. I just didn't trust them or feel cared about especially cause they knew I was pregnant so I shouldn't be swallowing plaque due to harmful effects on my unborn baby. I got in only 20min after arriving and they did try to squeeze me in asap to fill my cavity which was nice. Just check ratings before you go somewhere is my advice and I will be doing that from now on.

We would give them ZERO stars if possible. We've had this dental insurance since about1989 and…read morethey are ok dealing with simple issues such as cleanings. But that's as far as it goes. My husband had to have dental surgery (not cosmetic) and I called GEHA Dental to get coverage information. I was given the CPT (procedure codes) codes for the surgery and was told that it was a covered surgery using the codes they gave me and that it had to be performed in the doctor's office. My husband had the surgery in April, 2025 and the claim forms were submitted. The first set of claims were "lost" due to a change in their computer systems and I was asked to resubmit the claims, which I did. Later I find a huge mess in that there are duplicate claims and that it was causing confusion on their part. Needless to say, the claim was denied, but we did receive a check from them for about $70. Since then, we have both spoken to numerous "advocates" at GEHA Dental over a dozen and a half times with no one being able to give us any real explanations. God forbid that you ask to speak to a supervisor. We've asked at least 6 times to speak with a supervisor and no supervisor is ever available and no supervisor has ever called back after being told that we will be contacted within 72 hours. Once a supervisor was standing next to the "advocate" and I overheard the supervisor tell the advocate that she would not speak with me and that a supervisor call back request needed to be filled out. I was dumbstruck! We have filed an appeal on October 5th and still haven't heard anything. We were told that an appeal can take 6 months but I'm guessing that we'll never hear anything from them. Just keep the member in the dark, stretch out the waiting time and hopefully they'll forget about the almost $4,000 they forked out of their own pockets. Never again.....we cancelled our dental policy. We were told by our dentist's staff that they have nothing but problems with GEHA Dental. She stated that they really are not a dental insurance, more of a medical insurance that added dental coverage. She suggested Delta Dental, a REAL dental insurance company, and we switched as soon as we could. I do have to say however, GEHA medical coverage is top notch! They are professional, knowledgeable and offer great coverage. We've been thrilled with their services for years.

I really wanted to give no stars. I have never been so pissed about dental work. I am legally blind…read moreclose up and I didn't have my glasses when I went to the dentist. I work nights and had about 2 hrs sleep missed my apt so I called to see if I could still get in. They worked me in . They asked about the color I said I can't see I don't have my glasses. So my 3000.00 bridge is put in. Dentist hands me the mirror and ask if I wanted to see. Of course I want to see but again I can't without my glasses. And that's what I tell them. My mouth is numb I go home go back to bed so I can work that night. I get up to go to work look at my teeth and can't believe what I see. If I was that dentist I would of never let me leave. The front tooth is crooked 3 of the teeth curved under and it's not even close to the color they told me we were ordering. So I called of course I had to wait until Thursday since they are only open Monday and Thursday. So o got in Monday at 1145 again only a couple hrs of sleep. But I did take my glasses this time. Buyer beware if you leave with dental work in your mouth and do not like it you can get it fixed if you pay for it. They do not take any responsibility for their part. I didn't have my glasses but I also trusted my dentist to do his best job. It took me 5 years to save the money to get my bridge. And now I have to find someone to go find someone to fix it because I'm sure not going back there.
