Each year during tax time I go online to turbo tax or whatever it is called and run my W-2's, 1040's, 1099's etc through only to be disappointed by some number that is conjured by some proverbial magic wand. Naturally I never believe this number the godawful program comes up with. This is where Sechrest & Bloom come in--they work their butts off to make sure I'm getting the most bang for my buck. Sure it's a little more spendy than paying your computer to do the work, but the individualized service, friendly staff, and (of course) the pretty number on my refund check makes it an investment worth making. If you are looking for an accountant who does a top notch job, follows up with you, and remembers your name--this is the accounting firm for you. Bonus points for them for finding me after I was negligent in providing a new e-mail address and phone number.

We used to live in Massachusetts and have since moved to Rhode Island. We were friends with the original broker and that is why we had originally signed up with Edward Jones. We both have our individual IRA account there as well, as other accounts. Recently I received a statement stating that shares were sold? I emailed the admin Mandy asking for clarification, she replied shares were sold because of the yearly maintenance fee of $40 for my IRA account, I told her in the past I would receive a bill for the $40 and I would send out a check. That I do not want shares sold for $40! She states that is there policy when I signed up 15 years ago! I replied well it had never happened before! I told her from now on she is not allowed to sell anything on my behalf or my wife's before getting written approval from us. She was very unwilling to listen and not very helpful, today I receive a call from the office in providence stating my account has been transferred??? I ask the new rep who transferred my account??? He replies he did not know?? I never authorized anyone to transfer my account??? So how was my account transferred??? If you want a broker that values you as a client and treats you and your family and your money with respect I think you will be better served with another broker then Edward Jones in Chelmsford Ma! My wife and I will be transferring our accounts and I suggest anyone looking to start a relationship with Edward Jones to rethink their decision! It is your money and you deserve better!!! FYI...
