I just opened my Schwab accounts so this review might be a bit premature, but after my customer service experiences with Schwab so far I felt compelled to write a review. Their customer service is awesome. I've used the live chat and the phone. I've had almost no wait with either service (1 to 2 minutes for chat, none for phone) and always spoke to a live person, not a machine. All the CS reps I've spoken to have been uncommonly friendly and warm. My needs and questions were taken care of immediately and I've been more than satisfied with the outcomes of these interactions. Besides the customer service, the reimbursement of ATM fees, the ability to use any ATM without being charged by my bank (especially overseas), and no foreign transaction fees are huge for me since I do a lot of traveling. It's also very cool that it's an interest-yielding checking account, meaning your balance is earning interest instead of just sitting there twiddling its thumbs. (The "High Yield" might be a misnomer, though.) And no minimum balance or monthly service fees are right up my alley. All in all I'm extremely satisfied with my Schwab experiences. I'll update this review if that changes.

The receptionist offered for me to stand at the counter and open an account online, but a further discussion had to be by appointment only. No walk ins are accepted here at all. I was pleased to discover that is an easily found, convenient location with parking validation. I was seen on a quiet weekday afternoon and received prompt and accurate assistance with a couple of small issues by a congenial and knowledgeable gentleman. My questions were answered, changes and corrections made on the spot in a helpful and professional manner. Kudos to management for Mr R Boies, who took the time to make this a pleasant and efficient experience.

You must connect to Zelle through the Schwab app. I have overdraft protection for my Schwab Bank account. That means that I carry a zero balance and money is automatically transferred from my regular Schwab investment account when money is drawn on the checking account Unfortunately Zelle will not let you pay someone if the account balance is zero. You must first transfer money between your Schwab accounts and then use Zelle. Who wants those extra steps?? Zelle had been convenient. Now I MUST use Schwab. Worst of all is that Schwab doesn't allow transfers on weekends, so there is nothing you can do ....no workaround at all. Try Fidelity or Vanguard. They have probably figured it out. Schwab should have designed a better, workable system!!

But they denied my $1 million+ revenue business any line of credit (LOC), even a modest $50K. I went to another bank and got a $100K line of credit that was limited only because they were freaked out by Chain Bridge Bank's refusal to lend. A year later, I got a $250K line of credit with my new bank. Chain Bridge Bank appears to cater only to political campaigns. I fail to understand this since that's a very very risk undertaking. But they don't seem to care about almost sure-thing local businesses that are growing rapidly. And now we are 3 times the size only a few years later due to no help from them since they refused to extend a LOC.

I had a couple of issues with my account which involved a few fraudulent charges, the manager there definitely took ownership of my issues, and followed up with me promptly when it was done. I have never experienced such efficiency in my years banking with multiple large and small banks. At first I wasn't sure she was the manager since she sat in the front, greeted customers, and was way too young, but she proved me wrong! I would recommend anyone to go there and ask for her.
