I'd stray away from here if you want health care who actually does the caring part. I went in because I have ear block and sinus congestion. While I didn't wait in the lobby for too long, I spent probably 40 minutes waiting for the doctor to actually see me once I was put in a room. Fine. Long but I'm patient. But this was not worth waiting for. I get ear block semi regularly, I know my body, I am a flight attendant and the pressure changes can cause this (especially when flying congested). I have had it 3 times this calendar year alone. It can be extremely dangerous to fly with ear block as your ear drums can rupture. Well the doctor who saw me said my ears weren't too bad when she looked inside them. I can feel how stuffed up they are, the way my head wanted to explode when I was on the decent of my flight. I was never asked about other symptoms, aside the nurse asked what my pain level is and I said 8-9 (it takes a lot for me to say this). She saw my nose was congested too. The doctor recommended I take Sudafed (I have been for roughly a week now but was never asked about this) and refrain from the antibiotics for another 2 days. Well--I have to work. And my job is on an airplane; which again is extremely dangerous to be on with ear block. She said I'd be fine to work, no note, and rushed out of there. I'll have to go somewhere else now as my attendance policy is strict and I am not willing to risk permanently damaging my hearing or career. Glad I got the antibiotics I needed but I did not feel I was cared for, given adequate instructions or help for my situation. read more

Been here after going to the ER in elmhurst twice about a cyst. The er didn't fully get the job done and I had to go here in order for them to basically fix it. I had seen several amazing nurses who helped and prepped me for drainage. The process wasn't to long as I was called back immediately after I was checked in. After I left I felt 1000 times better! NO respect for your time! I stopped in at the Bolingbrook location on Weber Road to "drop off" a lab test. Simple, right? NO, NO, NO! They made me check in, sign an authorization form and WAIT, WAIT, WAIT for a lab tech to take the SEALED envelope from me. Twenty minutes later, the lab tech called FINALLY my name and took the envelope. She said, "OK, you're all set." REALLY????????? I waited twenty minutes for THAT?????? HOW RUDE!!!! read more

Everyone there is so polite and concerned about you, from when you walk in the door you are greeted by the front staff, they make you feel comfortable and safe, once you see the Nurses and Doctors you realize that you are in the best hands of true professionals, I can't say enough about how wonderful and caring everyone there was, I truly love this place. read more

The front staff at this location is extremely unprofessional. The receptionist named Kathy treated my sister terribly and embarrassed her in front of everyone. The instructions given to her were not clear, was told to leave her number and they would call her when they were ready. My sister was told there was a two hour wait. Upon arrival my sister was scolded and treated poorly. Not only did Kathy mistreat her but was also caught speaking about my sister behind her back to other employees saying, " she's not sorry". My sister overheard, and Kathy felt that it was appropriate to look at my sister and say, " that's right (name) I'm not sorry." and proceeded to get in her face. Poor communication, aggressive behavior is very unprofessional! As an employee who works for Northwestern Medicine and who works closely with our receptionist staff, I can say our staff would never treat our patients like that. I've always had no issues getting my kids seen here in times of need. Today I checked in online and got in almost as soon as I walked in got my kids rapid covid test done for school. The nurses and the PA were great with my scared kid and they took great care of him. read more

I hate to admit it, but I have had to visit this facility more than once. Of course, I am thankful I did not need the hospital ER to diagnose and treat my ailments. I was there first thing in the morning and I was checked in, seen, x-rayed, and discharged within an hour. And, that included a patient in respiratory distress who got bumped ahead of me. I totally get that. The other time was late morning/early afternoon and required a little wait. It was not a long wait and I had a book with me to read. There are 2 TVs in the waiting area and one was a children's program. I come prepared to wait. The facility is well lit and clean. I found the staff to be polite and competent. The physician was gentle and very pleasant. No pain prescriptions were given, as one reviewer felt that was all they did, and I was totally satisfied with the care I was given. Being in the medical profession, it is easy for me to assess if they are meeting the purpose of their existence. They are and you can check wait times before you even go. Unfortunately, if you require services outside their "open" times, you will have to visit your local ER. read more

My son had a cough that lingered, so we took him here to be safe. The nurse practitioner saw him for 5 mins and diagnosed him with a cold. Prescribed Flonase (which is available OTC), and sent us on our way. A week later I see we were charged nearly $700 for this visit. How is this possible and not fraud. No tests were taken, simply a 5 min exam. Our regular MD charges $180 for similar visits and spends more time examining. Be advised, even with good insurance, you will pay more than $200 out of pocket for a 5 min visit with a Nurse Practitioner. Big $$$$... read more

They recommended lab work for me due to a sore throat, that was $600. I cannot believe they would charge such an outrageous amount for a test. I went to this immediate care after injuring my knee. I knew the bone wasn't broken but wanted a doctor to look at it and take a MRI. So I made sure this immediate care facility had MRI listed on its website before driving out from the city. But once I got there, I found out you can't actually get a MRI at this location without a note from your general physician (no matter what your insurance is). So the physicians that work there can tell you that you need an MRI, but they can't actually give you a MRI, even though they have one on site... you need to see another doctor for that.... Are you kidding me? Don't waste your time here . read more

AVOID the Edward Elmhurst locations !!! They do not use the name urgent care instead they have immediate care locations... well silly me I thought that would be the same.. NO NO NO ... how about a charge of $3585 for an ingrown hair on my chin. WOW.. They put a needle in the swollen location, made a small cut to get a "little" pus out and sent that to a remote lab, gave me a script for an antibiotic. Cut was so small no need for a stitch just a little bandage in case it drained, which it did not, and out the door.. Almost a month later I still have lump at the infection site. However, I must say the people there were very nice. BUT COME ON PEOPLE... $3585 for an infected ingrown hair !!! It was not at the ER. Beware!!! You will be charged for an emergency room visit, even though this facility is listed as being an immediate care facility. I called ahead before going in to have them run my insurance, and was told I would only have to pay the $30 immediate care copay. A couple weeks later I received a $260 bill. After months of going back and forth with Edwards and my insurance, I was told by Edward's that they have to bill it as a hospital visit, even though the hospital isn't even in the same town as this facility. My husband and I have been coming here as needed for the past couple of years. The level of care we receive each time has always been exceptional. My most recent visit was right in line with the others. I saw Jennifer Deneen PA and she was a gem. She attended to my concerns with the 3c's: coolness, compassion, and confidence. You can't ask for much more. Each of the nurses that attended to me were outstanding and full of compassion. I wish I could list them each by name because they truly deserve the recognition. There was even one nurse who made sure I felt ok before leaving and made sure I knew what to do to care for myself and what to do following my visit. You don't receive this kind of care everywhere so when you do it really stands out. Thanks for being a standout team. You are appreciated. read more

My last two visits to this facility are unrelated, but resulted in the same treatment: painkillers. First, I went in with excruciating back pain. I hadn't lifted anything heavy, worked out extensively, or done anything in the past weeks that justified the intense pain I was feeling. They did some X-rays, as well as a physical exam (she felt my spine, made me demonstrate walking and standing), and I was diagnosed with, well, nothing. Back strain, I suppose. I was given not one, but THREE prescriptions for different painkillers. Vicodin, Tylenol, and something else. Taking the combination of these 3 did help with the pain, but it obviously didn't assist with any back issues I may have had. The pain eventually went away. And I couldn't poop for days due to the medications. Second, in May 2011, I went to a rooftop baseball game. I wasn't wearing sunblock, and it was 90+ degrees outside. I burnt to a crisp. It was so bad that I called off of work the next day, because my arms were aching to the bone. I drove my crispy and red self to Edward Immediate Care again. I was given a brief lecture on using sunblock, and though I didn't have a diagnosis like sun poisoning, I did get some vicodin. I took one when I got home and fell asleep past 4:00 p.m. I missed the first day of a new job (it was a part-time, 2nd job) and I was too embarassed to call them and explain what had happened. The sunburn finally blended with the rest of my skin more than a year later, around July/August 2012 - just in time for my wedding. Short wait, kind and patient staff, but WAY too eager to pass out the painkillers. I don't like using them, but I can see how and why these become addictive for people. read more

I took my son here for Urgent Care when we thought he might have broken a bone in his hand. We have insurance with BCBS and paid our copay like expected. However, when the post insurance bill came a few weeks later, we found out they billed our visit to the Bolingbrook Urgent Care facility as a hospital visit (not the usual amount we are used to from other urgent care facilities we have been to). This was a MUCH higher bill! So, please beware~ we found out the hard way that not all Urgent care bill the same way and this location billed us like a regular ER/hospital visit. read more

No one wants to go to urgent care on vacation, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. We arrived at 8:30 AM on a thursday morning between xmas and nye. It wasnt horribly busy, but there were a couple people before me. Parking was easy, and the lobby was huge. I signed in and expected to wait an hour before even being called, but I was called within 15 mins of filling out my paperwork. The wait for the doctor was about 50 mins after the nurse checked my vitals. The doctor was nice, understanding, and helpful. read more

Best and quickest urgent care yet!!! Took my daughter while halfway across country travelling back east, she got an infection in a mosquito bite that went crazy! They got us in and registered after actually seeeing nurse and the Doctor! What a great way to give customer service that's 10 stars!!!! I loved to care and speed, great comfort from all of them! First of all, I went in there 20 minutes before they closed. I get it I hate when people do that too, or wouldn't want that to happen when I'm there and it's snowing out. Ya I would just want to go home too, but sorry I had an eye infection and they were the only place open close to my house. Went in there and the lady at the front desk was very rude. I walked in and first what's are "what do you need". I brush it off and give all the information that is needed. When waiting for the doctor and assistant was very rude. While she was taking my blood pressure she told me to hold the blood pressure cuff. As I was holding it she goes stop holding it in a very aggressive manner. She told me I have high BP 130/109, but didn't ask me why I had it or if it runs in my family. She didn't care about me at all. She just wanted to get me in and get me out and not care what was wrong with me. I will never go here again. read more

I've visited a few times over the past 7-8 years for myself and family. Top notch every time. The staff and friendly and attentive. Wait times varied; not really the fault of the staff; keep your eye on the wait times listed on the website; they've been accurate. Haven't had billing problems or problems getting medication when it's been prescribed. This will be the first place I look if I need the care again in the future. read more

went there today for a dot physical, i was self pay, the pa that did the physical was GLEN GARAFOLO. when he walked in i put out my hand and said good morning, he said nothing and never looked at me. he asked when my last dot physical was, when i told him i have never had one he basically called me a liar. i assued him i have never had a cdl physical. he went straight into how obama came up with regs that he agreed with but our ***EXPLITIVE*** PRESIDENT RESCINDED ALL OF IT JUST TO MAKE THE TEAMSTERS HAPPY. he then said he would not pass me until i have a sleep study. i asked if that was a dot reg and he said its his own rule and he has that power. i asked hi to just stick with the dot physical and stop his political rant. he got angry and left the room. when he came back he said well i am failing you because of a med you are on. i asked why he was switching gears so fast . i pointed out that all he needs is a letter from my doctor and the med he was talking about i had told him i was no longer on. it was clear that this was a hit on a trump supporter. i was sick, loosing a job opportunity becasue i was a trump supporter pointing out he is paid to do a job and not inject his personal views. eventually he said, after spending over an hour telling me he would do nothing for me, if i get the sleep study he would cut me a deal. i told him after all of this rambling and diatribe i dont know what your doing or what is right. he only excepted doctors letters after i pointed out that most doctors just ask for those. he would only do his job correctly when i pointed out he had no business enforcing personal opinion. I KNEW FULL WELL THAT HE WOULD NEED A LETTER FROM MY DOCTOR ABOUT SEVERAL THINGS.. had he have just dont the exam and said just get this letter for me and we will wrap this up. it would have been fine. but it seems that his hatred for our president is so great that if he finds out you are on the other side of the fence, he just cant control himself and has to rant. rude, opinionated, unprofessional, and very disrespectful. should have just done his job and asked for my doctors letter. read more

The only positive thing I have to say was the nurses were nice! I will NEVER go back there! I am not even complaining of the 2 hr wait but the horrible, no bedside manners, no personality doctor! At first I thought I was being punked that she was the Dr. when she walked in. Now, I'm not one to judge a book by its cover but really, not groomed', extremely overweight, fine, but extremely rude now I have a problem! Yes, I didn't go there for anything life threatening I hurt my foot. Without looking the Dr. Informs me most likely she won't be able to get out what I had in my foot. Then she informs me she has to put the chair up, she didn't want to hurt her back. I asked her what I could do to accommodate her, so her back wouldn't hurt . Shouldn't it be the other way around?!? She numbs my foot, then before the numbing starts working starts cutting my foot open, and yes I felt it! Let's talk about small talk, I asked questions like your really busy, snapped yes, she had to send to people to hospital, then I asked if she worked a lot, maybe this will explain her rudeness, she said every weekend. I told her sounded like she needed to rest. I doubt she got my reason, trying to explain you are a crabby person!!!!! Wasn't long she found a tiny piece, and says she's done not doing it the rest with have to work itself out. She barely did anything (the way she was breathing I thought she was going to pass out) I waited so much longer then was seen. So she puts a bandaid on it. I was done. Told to wait for nurse for my paperwork. The sweet nurse comes we see blood on the floor, didn't think it was me just from the procedure. So I leave when I go to my car, I look down and my foot is bleeding leaving a trail of blood. So, I walk back in and let the reception area letting them know I'm bleeding she asks me do I want to see a nurse, (let's take a moment, really, yes I want to see a nurse) I see the Dr. She looks up but NEVER once says anything to me..... The wonderful nurse, took care of me washed me up and bandaged my foot, apologizing that that was the way I should've left!!!!! So this is a long version of my experience!!!!! My grandson had a small facial laceration, about 1.5 cm. He was taken here to have it closed. They applied skin glue, which he scratched off the next day, by the way. No x-rays, no labs, no medications - just skin glue and 5 minutes of the doctor's time: $1,500. Don't say you weren't warned. read more

55+ yr old family member had a bicycle fall and injured/likely fractured elbow. Arrived at 4:10, they close at 5pm. Check in person strongly discouraged from staying because there was an 1.5 hr wait. and I think they just wanted to go home. Told us to come back in the morning or go to ER. I think they didn't want to bother because it was late in day and because the stoic injured party didn't "look" injured even tho they had zero elbow mobility and was feeling quite a bit of pain. The service was adequate, however we were only in there for 20 minutes. Doctor knew what was wrong immediately and fixed it but then were rushed out the door. It's the billing department/customer service that is terrible. Our visit took place in February 2016. I received a bill sometime later and it was just a basic bill with no description of services for a very high amount. We have a high deductible insurance so we basically had to pay 1/2 of it so I called to ask for a detailed/itemized bill. They said sure and I waited about 3 weeks. I received another bill but it was still the same bill I just received, no bill detail or itemization. I called again and was told to disregard the 2nd bill and an itemized bill was "in the mail". I waited about another two-three weeks and got a bill with a Past Due notice on it and then about 3 days later I received a bill with a Final Notice on it saying they were going to send me to collections if I do not pay. So I called yet again. This time I was told that my last two requests went through however they failed to request an itemization, all they put through was to send me a standard bill. So he said he fixed the problem and I would for sure get a detailed bill. He said he put my account on hold so it would not be past due. He then said if I paid that day, he could offer me a 30% discount. And this "was their promotional deal throughout the month of June" and "I wouldn't get a better deal than this" and that I should take advantage of this. I was so confused. I thought I was contacting my hospital about getting an itemized bill, not my cable company. Were they seriously trying to bargain with me? So I made him note on my account that I would STILL get the 30% off WHEN/IF I got my itemized bill that I requested. June 22nd came and I finally received my itemized bill, however everything was written in medical codes and medical abbreviations. I still couldn't understand why the charges were so high. There were 4 line items and I didn't understand why I was charged for 4 things when we walked in, saw ONE doctor and walked out. No X-rays, nothing else, no medicine needed, band-aids, nothing. So I called and spoke to another representative and was basically told "that's just how they bill." She could offer absolutely no explanation as to what each charge was. I was told that they are not medical coders so she can't tell me what each line item was. "That's just how they bill." I then asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. She put me on hold and after several minutes she said she would have to have someone call me back. A week later, on June 29th, I called them and told them I still did not receive a call from a manager. She said she saw it in my account but that I would have to wait. She said normally it takes longer than 24 hours. I said well good, it has been a week, since the 22nd, she said "Oh... but you are still just going to have to wait until someone calls you." Finally received a call from a manager on July 5th. She gave me a little more explanation but not much more than my previous conversation. She also told me that they are not coders or doctors and couldn't really "read" my bill to me. So I took my great promotional offer of 30% off and just paid it. I was done arguing and trying to understand. I may seem at this point that I am being difficult. But I thought that my request was pretty basic. I believe that I have the right to understand what the doctors are charging and why. Not just given the reasoning of "that's how they bill." I went to Bolingbrook ER last year for a much worse injury and we paid much less. I was also told that when you visit Edward-Elmhurst Immediate care that it's not really an immediate care, that they bill as an ER. So just an FYI if you are planning on choosing this facility. read more

We had moved to the area and were in between doctors. My 2 yr old had an ear infection w/fever. The previous doc had sent her files to the new doc and the new doc would not see her until they rec'd the files. It was a Saturday, so we went to the immediate care in Bolingbrook. The check-in girl had an unexplained attitude, not sure what that was about. No customers were there.We walked right in, no wait. Told the doc she had an ear infection, she has had them before. He examined her and said yes, its an ear infection, prescribed an antibiotic and away we went. The whole visit was about 20 minutes. We rec'd the bill in the mail. They charged $547. After the PPO disc. it was still over $400. The Insurance paid half and we had to pay $200. Seriously?!? read more

On 01/18/2016 misdiagnosis by Edwards Hospital staff at Bolingbrook facility, Walinski Cruz, Lisa, DO and Brooks, Sarah, PA. treatment and diagnosis for my wife was SCABIES "without" testing or thorough examination! They told my wife "eww it makes me itch looking at it"! My wife, myself, and my 3 children since have gone through emotionally, mentally, physical and financially thousands of dollars. affecting and suffering personal, home, work, and school life. Also to include contacting every member of the my family's doctors for scabies treatment and medication over the phone to be RESPONSIBLE not to infect the world from one diagnosis! For almost a month of HELL in a bubble. Insanity,fear and constant scabies eradication of my home as well as persons. On 02/08/2016 my wife went to a different physician Dr. Lee at DMG, and diagnosis was stress related acne,possible celiac disease (gluten allergy) drew blood to test.
