I was terrified of dentists after a bad experience and had so much anxiety going in for a tooth concern. But Dr. Leftwich was amazing. He listened to my concerns and offered me the best solution. I think what impressed me the most was that I didn't feel like a transaction and he didn't think my anxiety or stress was insulting or annoying. He was very empathetic and kind. I wish more people had that kind of approach with patients. I ended up having a cavity. Normally that would have sent me into a spiral (from my past experience) but he walked me through exactly what we were going to do and how easy it was going to be. I went in on my lunch break a few days later and was done in 30 mins. Seamless, no pain, and even the aesthetic of the filling was perfection! I couldn't even tell where the cavity had been. I also have to give a shout out to the rest of the staff. Booking my appointment was so easy, the girl I talked to on the phone was so sweet and offered the best customer service. I have extreme anxiety when it comes to the dentist and for no specific reason. The dentists are great, but there is one dental hygienist who was awful with me. I told her about my anxiety and she was just rude and inconsiderate. I almost told her to forget it and that I'd just go somewhere else. I really like the dentist but I hope that the hygienist was just having a bad day. The other dental hygienist was so nice and sweet with me that I hope that I get the nicer one on my next visit.

I love the Aspen Dental House in Dallas, but I no longer have dental insurance and found Maple Dental Center on Groupon. I know, you shouldn't go cheap on your teeth, but mine are healthy and just needed a cleaning. Well, I had been having some trouble with sensitivity, and the stuff the dentist put all over my teeth as a protectant was not pleasant as compared to other dental places (it came off as soon as I left), the cleaning wasn't as thorough but good enough, and he suggested I get a full blown cap on my tooth in case it was cracked and he couldn't see it through the microscope. This is a regular problem for me, so I know the cap was unnecessary. Anyways, I paid the extra $30 for the teeth protectant like I always have at places in the past, and they overcharged my card by $60. I went to this place in April and just received my refund check at the end of July. The bad part is that the front desk people are not THAT fluent in English, so talking to people about the overcharge was extremely complicated. Also, I called them daily for two weeks before someone would finally answer the phone (supposedly their phone system was messed up). Not worth the hassle- just go somewhere good and pay the price. You truly do get what you pay for!
