I had seen Dr. Parks as an irregular paitent for several years. He seemed generally competent and the experience with staff was fine. Recently, I lost a filling and the front wall of a molar and am now in a moderate amount of pain that has built over a couple of days. When I called the office, I was told that the first available appointment was about a month away and that in the meantime, I should go to an urgent care clinic to get some antibiotics which, she said, is what most cases like mine require. The receptionist (who was very nice but unable to find a slot for me) told me that this is what she was instructed to say to all patients who presented as I did. Call me crazy, but my belief is that any dentist should not be so busy as to be unable to accomodate dental emergencies and that presumably unlicensed receptionists should not be authorized to advocate a specific course of treatment to a patient. read more

That dreadful feeling. Sharp agonizing pain and you want it treated now! Dr Park and staff have helped me get scheduled quickly, have seen me through root canals and crowns. My wife & I have gone to Dr. Park since he bought the practice from Dr. Ric Prael - when Dr. Prael retired. Dr. Park - like Dr. Prael - is a UW Dental School alum = XLNT training ! ( note: My wife spent almost 30 years as a RDA in California - thus ... she KNOWS what XLNT dentistry "looks n' feels" like !) Both my wife & I rate Dr. Park an 11 = on a Scale of 10 = 10 being TOP NOTCH ! WHY ?!? Dr. Park is virtually "painless" - completes fillings & other dental work quickly & carefully - and is a perfectionist. He has performed an implant "installation" - crowns - fillings & root canals on me ... ALL with XLNT results. And he has performed fillings & "crowning" for my wife. THUS... we have the utmost in confidence in Dr. Park - and HIGHLY RECOMMEND him ! ( which we have to many friends here on Whidbey Island ) Also, his office staff - dental assistants - & - dental hygienist are ALL great ! Dr. Park told my wife she needed work on her crowns and provided a written estimate for $4,000. We went to a different, highly recommended dentist in Oak Harbor and he said her crowns were just fine, no work needed. read more

Dr. Park does not accept that a patient might have views other than his, particularly when the patient is older. He does not seem to understand the mindset of older (70+) patients. Very set in his ways - he knows what is best. If you don't agree, go elsewhere read more

Dr. Park is an EXCELLENT dentist. I was looking for a new dentist and I found him right here in our beautiful village by the sea. He will not waste your time or money. He knows what he is doing and I should know I have been going to Dentists for over 60 years,all over The USA. The office is warm and welcoming. The staff is great they make you feel at ease right away , The office is spotless and everyone manages to make you feel comfortable while maintaining complete professionalism. And for me the most important thing .....I TRUST DR. PARK , I know he is doing for my dental health exactly what is best for me. read more

I went to Dr. Park in 2012. His staff was nice, but the dentist shamed me about my gums (genetic gum disease) and told me it wouldn't be "ethical" for him to treat me. I left in tears, totally embarrassed. I could tell his assistant was mortified with his tone of voice to me. I went back to my old dentist off-island who has stabilized my teeth and gums for years. He said dentists like Dr. Park make his whole profession look bad. read more

Friendly staff, very professional. I was having some issues with my gums around a crown and they were able to instruct me on how to heal and keep my gums healthy. I love that they were willing to listen to my concerns about my dental care and gave me great advise and guidance on how to keep my teeth/gums healthy. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job. So bad, I don't even know where to start. He scolded the hygienist multiple times, embarrassing her and me trapped in the chair with his hands in my mouth...for something as simple as how she handed him an instrument. BUT WAIT it gets WORSE from there. I had a crown that needed to be replaced and he offered color-matched porcelain or gold - told me the gold would be more durable but the porcelain more aesthetic and my insurance didn't cover as much of the porcelain. I didn't care about aesthetics, it's the last tooth at the back of my mouth and since I'd already spent a fortune and it broke a year later (and finances were a concern), I told him I'd rather do the gold. At the appointment to place the crown, I was shocked to see he'd put in a porcelain one (and it was about 2 shades off from matching my actual teeth - so much for aesthetics!). I got a bill from my insurance later, much larger than what I'd agreed to for the gold crown and begrudgingly paid it. We had a military move a month or 2 later and I didn't give them another thought until I got another bill in the mail. I knew I'd paid my portion and insurance was covering the rest, so I glanced at it (didn't see any collections warnings) and threw it away. A month later I got a collections notice for the portion the insurance company should have paid. I called their office and Dotty (?) was rude as per her usual, told me essentially it wasn't their problem and to contact my insurance carrier. Turns out the insurance carrier couldn't pay the claim because she hadn't filled a date on the form and they'd tried MULTIPLE times to get the completed forms back from them and with no response from their office, they denied the claim. I called Dr. Park's office again and got a message that they were closed for extended holiday, left a message that they simply needed to fill out the date and resubmit. Never heard anything until I got another collections statement and then started getting harassing phone calls a month later. I called AGAIN and they were out of the office for an extended time frame AGAIN, so I left another message and I told the collections company it wasn't a valid debt and to stop harassing me. I didn't hear anything after that, so presumed it was taken care of. Fast forward 2 years and we are trying to buy a house and find that I have a collections account on my credit history from these guys. I called their office AND the collection agency AND my insurance and because it'd been so long, they closed the claim and could not reopen it. The woman I spoke with repeatedly in Dr. Park's office (not Dotty this time around) admitted after looking into it that they were at fault for the paperwork not being complete and for erroneously sending me to collections for money I didn't owe that they would have been paid IF THEY'D PUT A DATE ON THE PAPERWORK! After a lot of back and forth and them (supposedly) contacting the collections agency, they said that they would waive all of the collections fees and interest charges if I would pay the original outstanding balance (I think something around $900) and they would withdraw the collections, which she explained if they did reporting that it was an error on their part would completely wipe it from my credit history, not just show it as resolved. I told her that I didn't owe them anything for the services and at this point I was paying only to have my credit restored because it was literally the only hangup on us getting approved for a mortgage. She said it would take 1-2 weeks to show on my credit report and took my money, but we waited and waited and it NEVER WENT AWAY. Because it was so recent, we couldn't get a loan for that magnitude and were advised to wait a year and try again, so we lost the house we were going to buy and had to continue to waste money on rent for another year AND they took my money that I didn't actually ever owe them AND to this day, it still shows up on my credit report and they didn't even bother to mark it resolved. I tired to give Dr. Park the benefit of the doubt, hoping he wasn't aware his office staff was doing this, so sent him a certified letter explaining what was going on and he/his office refused to accept it, so it was returned to me. Think that's bad? It gets worse even still. The opposing tooth broke and when I went to see another dentist, she said it was from stress because the crown Dr. Park placed was too high, so I had to get yet another crown after dealing with the pain and stress of a broken tooth. These guys are rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. I can't even imagine how many thousands of dollars the mistake of choosing this dentist has cost me. Save yourself and your family the trouble, pain, and money and find someone else! read more
