I was quoted $400 at the time of service for a deep cleaning that I was told was necessary. I paid that amount in full before the appointment, assuming everything was settled. Weeks later, I received an unexpected $1,200 bill after my insurance determined the procedure wasn't necessary. I then had to request the office to dispute the charges, and after all of that, I still ended up being billed another $400 because they said one quadrant of my cleaning wasn't covered. At no point was it explained that the total cost could change so drastically or that I might be responsible for so much more after paying upfront. This experience felt misleading and frustrating, and I would caution anyone considering this office to make sure you get a clear, written estimate and confirmation of insurance coverage before agreeing to treatment.

I appreciated that he didn't immediately recommend a new crown, so I booked a 6-month check-up and cleaning. I have the top executive-level dental plan, so even though Dr Gurley is out-of-network, I did not expect a 6-month visit to be more than $100 or so OOP, typical of other dentists here and in ORANGE COUNTY, CA. I then had a crown chip, and Dr Gurley again spent 10 minutes with me as he ground the corner of my crown to remove the sharp edge. I was shocked when I ended up with a bill for $959 dollars, of which insurance paid $411. It appears Dr Gurley DOUBLES the rates that top-of-the-line dental insurance pay, essentially double dipping. Gurley charges $145 for an oral exam and ins pays $72. Gurley charges $604 for a 6-month and ins pays $217, including $190 fee for panoramic & ins pays $82! Now no one will call me to discuss.

Dr. Myers has taken very good care of my teeth for many years, he and his staff are very friendly, especially the front desk lady and Jessica. From my own personal experience I never felt that I was being sold something that I did not need, than again I only visit for regular teeth cleanings and checkups. The prices here are slightly higher than other dentists that I have visited in the past, but I must admit that I like the fact that this office uses the newest equipment. Before coming here, my previous dentist that my family was using, only had old equipment in his office, and after coming here, I see why it is important to use high quality equipment and the newest technology. A good dentist invests in their practice and wants the best for their patients. The people here are extremely helpful and any question that I have ever asked, always gets answered.
