I found this place on zocdoc, i was looking for someone nearby who accepted my dental insurance. I scheduled with a dentist here, but had to r/s, when i called, the office scheduled me with Dr Akbar, unbeknownst to me, did not accept my insurance. I found this out after the fact. The bill was outrageous, a nearly $1000 bill for a deep cleaning, yes you read this right! A deep cleaning that come to find out wasn't necessary in my case. I had the xrays that i requested from here to prove that. Also, when I called to complain about the lack of responsbility of scheduling me with the wrong dr, Ellen, the office manager got defensive and rude, basically making it sound like it was my fault!!!! She hesitantly shaved off roughly $150 off the bill. This is indeed a very weird practice for many reasons. Ellen was not inviting at she has an extemely fake, and condescending personality. Anyway, take this reveiw how you want to, but i would tell my friends and family do not come to this place. Look around, get second opinions. they will make you feel like you need an a substantial amount of work. My gut feeling when I left there after my appointment that day was spot on!!!

Each dentist failed to check with my insurance before my treatments were performed, often leaving me holding the bag. No matter what instructions I gave, the experience was the same. I had given up on ever finding an honest and professional office again. Then along came you, Alpharetta Smile Center. Your team got me in quickly, confirmed my insurance beforehand, provided me the exact cost of work I wanted to get done, and did the work in a timely manner. Until one day, I had to take my kids for their dentist appt and met with Dr. Cesar who have so much passion on what he does. Never once I felt like he pressured me that I "should" do this or that for my kids' teeth, but he suggested some thing and helped us planning it out. He was very friendly, gentle and patience with my kids especially with my autistic son Colin. He did not want to stay in the chair, but somehow Dr. Cesar and his team helped to calm him down and stayed there. I just knew that I wanted him to be our family's dentist, and to look over my teeth. :) Well, I'm glad he did! Unfortunately, that was not my experience. The way my pain and concerns were handled was extremely upsetting. I felt that my pain was not taken seriously, and I did not feel that the practice genuinely cared about my well-being after such a significant financial investment. As a Spanish-speaking patient, I also felt that I was treated differently and with less respect because of my language and background. I felt discriminated against as a Hispanic/Spanish-speaking patient, which made an already difficult experience even worse. When a patient spends more than $16,000 on dental treatment, they should be able to expect quality care, proper communication, compassion, and respect--not to feel ignored when they are experiencing pain. I would strongly encourage anyone considering extensive treatment here to ask detailed questions, get everything in writing, and consider getting a second opinion before spending a significant amount of money. The office assistant (which I later found out was the office manager Terri) came out to make sure I had a masque to use. She took my temperature before going inside. Upon entering the front desk associate who's name was Jenny welcomed me with a smile and a hello. I was immediately at ease. Dr. Atherton was amazing. She knew her stuff!
