Awesome. Educators has lower rates than banks and they treat you like an individual not a number.

This location has a great staff of friendly, efficient and able tellers. They have extremely limited contact during the pandemic which tells me they care about health and safety.

Educators Credit Union is a financial cooperative. We've been with ECU for about 9 years now. We moved from US Bank after getting nickel and dime on a monthly basis and extremely poor customer service. We read about ECU, came in to talk to them and walked out with our accounts set up. Friendly, outgoing and accommodating customer service each and every time we go there for whatever reason. We have multiple savings, checking and home improvement loan here and now most recently a short approval process to get a pre-approved auto loan in a few hours. We were then able to better shop for a car. I was also there to help my oldest build credit, working with a rep and asked if it was possible to have him order me new checks and he went in and did that within 30 seconds instead of pushing it off to someone else. What we like best is one of their programs. Debit and credit card holders can earn reward points. Every dollar we charge on our debit/credit card: Debit card "credit" transactions = 1 point for every $2 spent Credit card "credit" transactions = 1 point for every $1 spent Redeem points for discounts and promotions on Educators products and services, cash back, gift cards, air travel, and more. We use our points for hotel stays and take side trips with the kids. I can't stress enough how exceptional the customer service is. After all, banking is a service business, and ECU does a great job to earn your business. ECU started out operating under the guiding principle of "Not for Profit, Not for Charity, But for Service." They consistently deliver on that principle.

I'm sorry for the long review...It's my first and I'm not sure how these are supposed to be done…read morebut I honestly feel that this is good information for potential customers. Also, I know that the NAME of the business is "Educators Credit Union", but you do NOT have to be a teacher to have an account here...You can be a firefighter, police officer, nurse, doctor, EMT, paramedic, etc...! I believe you just have to have a job doing public service! My husband is a firefighter and paramedic. I wrote this paragraph at the end of my review but moved it to the top for a forewarning of the long review and informational purposes of the ability to go to this incredible Credit Union! Although we have accounts at both, there REALLY is a difference between a bank and a Credit Union...At least, between our bank and Educators Credit Union! That's NOT to say that I don't like our bank (I wouldn't keep any accounts there if I hated it)...But I LOVE Educators Credit Union in Elkhorn! The tellers are always sure to welcome you in the moment you walk in the door and treat you kindly, regardless of whether you are doing a deposit, withdrawal, making a loan payment, or there to see a personal banker in hopes of getting a loan! I will get back to the loan thing in a second but I also wanted to mention that the tellers will ALSO try to help you figure out what's wrong, if you are having any issues, with your account...Such as unknown charges on your account or overdraft fees and, if THEY can't help you they'll ask for help from the personal bankers that have been there longer and have more experience. Back to the loans... If you need a loan Educators Credit Union is a GREAT place to go for it! I know, for a fact (because I have had in the past, or CURRENTLY have), that they do: credit rebuilding loans (I didn't have this one but a family member did), personal loans, holiday loans, credit cards, and vehicle loans! I believe they ALSO have mortgage loans but, unfortunately, we've already got that one through our bank and, fortunately for us, the bank actually had a similar interest rate! However, our credit cards compared between the bank and the Credit Union have VASTLY different interest rates and the Credit Union is FAR superior! The Credit Union ALSO offered a FAR superior interest rate EVERY time we've needed a vehicle loan over the past 18 years!!! Besides the interest rate being so superior, the personal banker that has helped us over the past 18 years (even before she got married and was still Kym Moore! LOL) Kym Perrelli, has ALWAYS been amazing about making sure that ALL our financial needs were met! She has made sure, with our last vehicle loan, to make sure that it was enough to also cover the cost of licensing and registration! In the past we've had her add the cost of other loans to a vehicle loan so that we would be able to pay off the higher interest loan immediately and be left with the lower interest vehicle loan only to pay. The people truly care about helping you get to a better financial position and would never, in MY experience, give you a loan that you would have any issues paying back...Which, I think, is WHY Kym tried to add loans together when she could! Yes, it made a slightly higher vehicle payment, but only after removing a MUCH higher other monthly payment did she ever do that! I can't tell you how much I appreciate her for that because, thanks to her, our credit score is finally getting better after a bankruptcy had to be filed years ago! Again...sorry for the long review but I hope that my information helps you!

After a multitude of phone calls and threats to retain a lawyer, they finally released the lien on June 3rd 2026. That's just a little over 7 months that they held the lien on our car where we could not trade it in or sell it, because they had a lien registered against it. They admitted it was by their own mistake when they were changing companies that managed their electronic lien releases; however they did not make much effort in resolving the problem. I would say that their customer service sucks, although most of the agents I spoke to on the phone were polite, they did not get anything done to resolve the problem.

I contacted Volkswagen Financial Services to ask whether any goodwill assistance might be available…read moreregarding approximately $400 in accumulated late fees due to recent financial hardship. I fully understand the terms of my contract and was not disputing them; I was simply asking if any support options existed. Unfortunately, the interaction I experienced with both the representative and the manager was extremely disappointing. The conversation felt dismissive and confrontational rather than supportive. Instead of discussing potential solutions, the focus was primarily on reiterating contractual language. Most concerning was the manager's response. He stated that to "not take up more of my time" he would apply a one time $100 credit, but also said he would be placing a note on my account stating that no further credits should ever be granted, referencing assistance I previously received during COVID and natural disasters. Hearing prior hardship accommodations presented in that way was both discouraging and inappropriate. I hope this feedback prompts a review of the call and reinforces the importance of respectful, customer focused communication especially when customers are reaching out proactively to resolve an issue.
