I did have a hard time receiving the validation and course by course evaluation of my diploma. It was difficult because it took longer than predicted, also involved 2 universities, and the validator. I also dislike that some information might have been conveyed in an way which I did not fully understand what ECE was asking. A bait and switch on timing. Before paying, they tell you that they will have results in 3 to 5 business days. Only after you pay (with absolutely no possibility of a refund) then you get a notice: "Due to high volume" they can't meet that time-line. If you need results in 5 business days, pay an extra $80 for rush service. No reputable company would do this. read more

My first review of 2021 goes to...ECE. I had the most pleasant experience with ECE, their service was super fast, professional and made my life so easy. I was referred to ECE by the ADA actually the ADA only accepts your transcripts if they are evaluated by ECE, the process was stress free. I submitted my application on 12/14/20 and I was required to scan and email some of my documents and mail through FEDEX my transcripts in order to get evaluated. I had a lot of questions...and even though they do not take phone calls at the moment, they are available via chat, Ben was awesome and super helpful. I mailed my transcripts on 12/15/20 and by 12/23/20 the ADA emailed me to let me know that they had received my documents and everything was good to go. So the process really only took 8 days, not to mention they kept me informed every step of the way and you can also login to your account to see the status of your file. 3 days later I received via FedEx my original documents and also a sealed Evaluation Report. Price: $185.00, which included the Evaluation & Translation of my documents, electronic delivery to the ADA and an Evaluation Report for my records. I'm so happy with their service. I have ordered a high-school course by course report and I have issues with the following: [I am in the process of filing a lawsuit if they don't correct the problems reported] My GPA is 3.27 when, conform their own system and their calculations written on the back of the report, should be 3.45. Also I have attended 4 years of high-school in Romania and graduated with a score of 90 out of 100. Their credit unit system equivaleted all of my classes with a max of 1.33 unit. How is that right when I took math and English 4 classes a week for 8 semesters? I should have 4 credits for each instead of 1.33! I don't even want to mention that the math that a studied in high-school was far more advanced than the math they study in the US. There were multiple errors in my evaluation so I contacted customer service and got very little help , I first paid for a High School and University Level Course by Course but had to change after two months of back and forth because they wouldn't recognize the official school Academy of lille worker that sent my baccalaureate grades multiple times ! Then did a course by course but they later ( 3 months ) found that the official school transcript of my second year of university was not good enough for them ? Even though they knew I had a deadline and the costs of everything was already expensive I had to go to the post office many times , just to get scammed by them. They therefore told me to get a general report but gave me no credits because apparently my school was not recognized at the time , but it is obvious that they have not done their research because university in France is always recognized , they got my first and second year transcripts sent directly by the school and that wasn't enough! They just lie and try to scam international students ! If they had actually done even a little research they would know that I was in the TOP 5 BUSINESS SCHOOLS IN FRANCE and passed so it is impossible to not even get one credit or gpa ! They evaluated my German Bachelor's degree which apparently isn't good enough for the US because they didn't recognize it as a US equivalent ONLY BASED ON THE LENGTH. Just because in Germany we finish our undergraduate in 3 years, doesn't mean we're lacking quality (I'm convinced after talking to several American students here that even the 3 years are much harder and deeper in content than the 4 years here, I'm sorry. Sometimes you don't even have to write a Thesis here?). It's no one's fault that the length is different, it's just different countries - different systems which has nothing to do with quality. I had a horrible experience with this organization. I submitted my original documents and waited for them to evaluate it. 3 weeks passing by, I didn't here a single update from them. I called and they said they sent me an email to say my transcripts are the copies, not original. I never received that email. They blamed it on technical error but why don't you just send another email or call me or find a way to reach me out instead of sitting still and waiting for me to contact you? I explained to them that the transcripts I submitted are the originals with the red stamp from my university. Apparently they don't really know how education system in other countries works other than the U.S. They told me the originals must be sent from a department that doesn't even exist in my country. Even if they do they won't provide such things. I was mad because at this point it's been almost a month and I got nothing done but wait and late replies. I called them to cancel and asked if I can pay extra for my documents to be sent back immediately. It was $40 for the overnight service and the lady on the phone told me I will get my refund back. I paid $145 in total so it should be $105. That day I received an email saying I will only get a partial refund because based on their regulations, they don't really do refund but my case was the exception. I understand the regulations and it was my mistake for not reading it carefully. However, the staff shouldn't inform me such inaccurate information. At the end of the day, I lost $90 for nothing. I sent my documents to a different organization and got it done in less than 24hrs (rush service). I could have given this organization a zero star review if that was an option! About two years ago, I ordered a course-by-course evaluation. I was in a Community College, so they accepted the credits ok. Now I am transferring to a University and they are not. I looked at the document that ECE issued and noticed that the credits for the classes were wrong, giving me less credit than the original. Because of that, I need to retake classes, so the course-by-course evaluation was completely useless. TWICE I tried to solve this problem. Once they came up with a ridiculous logic of full time average students in America, and the second they said they can't do any changes after a year of the evaluation. read more

I would not suggest ECE. I submitted ECE for my wife but they generated report in my name. I raised the concern and they said to pay another $60 for new copy and not accepting their poor quality of work. I totally not recommend ECE. Also, they have many cheap evaluation bundle. Signed up to Yelp to leave this review. Do not use if you have a UK degree! Company states that they will give you a GPA equivalent of your overseas degree. However, they assign rigid GPA figures to very broad percentage ranges. Meaning if you have a high 2:1 you're likely to end up with a something close to a 3.0 GPA - a great disservice to your hard work! In the UK everybody knows the majority of 'good' degrees operate in the 60%-70% bracket. However, ECE will award a 3.0 to a 60-69% and a 4.0 to anything above a 70%, i.e. they have a 10% banding system which doesn't translate well to US GPAs. In their words: "in our judgment, academic achievement in the UK below the top-tier recognition of "First Class" (70%) is not fully equivalent to academic achievement in the United States represented by the top-tier grade of "A"" When I tried to question them on their scoring system I received a very lofty, pompous response from the Senior Evaluator who advised me that the evaluation had been done correctly according to ECE guidelines ... Sure but the guidelines are garbage. Do yourself a favor and use a company that implements a narrower banding system, using +/- grades preferably with a 5% banding system. I was able to boost my GPA substantially using a legitimate evaluation service. BEWARE - NO REFUNDS read more

I hired ECE for a course by course assessment of an MA I earned in the UK to use in my applications to graduate programs in the US. Of all of the agencies that provided this service that I researched, ECE was best equipped to work with my school's COVID related limitations (they are currently only able to send transcripts via email, paper copies are not available, and they are extremely understaffed and take a long time to respond). I had read a review stating that ECE uses a metric to evaluate British grades that result in unfairly low GPAs equivalencies, so I was concerned. However, I found their evaluation of my GPA to be completely fair and in alignment with my understanding of my academic achievement in my courses. ECE's customer service was also excellent - they answered my emails in a timely manner (1-2 days tops) with all the details I was requesting. And once they received all of my documents, they completed the report and sent it on to my universities very quickly, in less than a week. read more

I asked for a course by course evaluation and payed 370$ for it because of a lot of required " options ", like 65$ delivery for a letter ?? I needed it absolutely for my application and ordered an express delivery because I was on a deadline. They refund me 95$ because they did a " general " report with written my name, my date of birth and 2 lines stating that I don't have a credit diploma. In France this diploma is valid, I still lost 275$ and couldn't apply to the school because they needed a course by course evaluation only. How is it even legal to set prices like this ? read more

The SNIES is from Colombia, I am from Brazil and my documents are all from Brazil. That is how much attention they had with my report. Great job (#ironic) And even I can prove that they gave the Credits to another report that is not on the e-MEC (the Brazilian one). My review disappeared from this page, so I am posting it again: This review is not meant to be malicious, but only an honest feedback of my experience, which caused me a lot of heartache. For anyone who is considering using ECE, if you have a three (3) year bachelor degree obtained from Europe or any other region, DO NOT use this organization. Please note that they do not take into consideration the different educational systems that exist across the world and they will evaluate your degree without seeking more information from you, in order for them to make an informed and fair assessment. When I received my evaluation, I was devastated. Not only did they lower my GPA significantly, but they also evaluated my Bachelor Degree as a 3 year undergraduate study. I reached out to them and explained in detail (went back to high school) the background of my education and asked them to reconsider. Their response was cold and rigid. It felt like a robot was responding to my email. At that point, I had already paid around $200 for that service. I did not want to lose any more time with them, so I went elsewhere. As I mentioned above, I quickly went back to NACES (there are 18 other members) and picked out another evaluation service. That other service asked me for my high school education and official certificate and for my bachelor degree and diploma. They asked me questions and were able to make an informed assessment. The result was a fair evaluation of my education credentials, which they evaluated as a bachelor degree. Remember that you have studied for years and you worked hard for it. You deserve to get evaluated by a service who is personable, who asks you questions, and make the effort to check your educational history, in order to give you a fair evaluation. This is not only about money (because it is expensive) and time lost; it is about fairness. ECE does not really seem to understand or comprehend that education systems are different throughout the world. Go and read other reviews of ECE and you will realize that a lot of people are complaining about this same issue. It is important that you get fair credit for your hard work. Do not settle for anything less. You deserve fairness. Spend your money elsewhere, your dollar will go a long way. The $200 I spend with ECE was a waste and their evaluation went straight to the shredder, with no regrets. I hope someone in NACES reads these reviews and raise the issue to their board. ECE needs to be re-evaluated for transparency and their understanding/process of evaluations. I am going to be looking at ways to raise this with NACES one way or the P.S. After reading dozens of negative reviews, I was very worried and skeptical about the evaluation process. The one thing that most bothered me was the fact that many people left reviews stating ECE awards very low GPAs compared to WES (e.g.GPA of 1.9 as opposed to 2.9 from WES). Some mentioned that an Indian Master's degree was equivalent to a US Bachelor's degree after being evaluated by ECE. I picked ECE because they accept original documents in university sealed envelopes from the students. WES does not accept anything from students, transcripts have to be sent from the native universities directly to WES. One of the universities I attended would not mail anything to the evaluation agencies. They would hand over the transcript to the student and the rest was up to the student in terms of delivering to the credentialing agency. So I did not really have a choice than to pick ECE. I got my results from ECE today and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did they find my Indian degrees (MA and BLISc) equivalent of US Master's and Bachelor's, they also awarded me a GPA of 3.75. I could not be happier. In addition to the fair grading, they also followed up with me on a regular basis for additional documents they needed for evaluating my transcripts. I was under the impression that I would have to create two separate orders to get two different degrees from two universities evaluated. But I was told I could send everything as one order and both degrees would be evaluated as one report. The customer service person told me I could save money by sending everything as one order, otherwise, it would cost me a lot of money. My wife sent her transcripts to review and they lowered her GPA to less than a 3.0 (she previously had them reviewed by a different place and her GPA was several points higher then 3.0). Now when I request a translation of my high school diploma, they be like we can't do it till we hear from your school overseas. Not all countries and education system reply to such request. I sent them also the transcripts from an MA degree and instead of contacting me with their questions, they finished the evaluation saying that my MA institution wasn't "official" and they refused do the evaluation without consulting me. Don't waste your time. They have a bunch of uneducated people at their call center/ customer service center. Had requested the originals be sent back to me via overnight and requested regular usps delivery of the evaluation to the school. We confirmed this 2 times as I had travel plans and needed my very important originals back before I left for fear of them getting lost. I later find out that the evaluation to the school was sent through overnight mail and they mailed my originals back through snail mail regular USPS! I think this is probably the worst experience I had with any service. There is the absolute need to choose a delivery address for the hard-copy (which is completely useless in 2020) and it's very costly for people outside of the US (60$ really? Is the queen gonna deliver that?, as if the service is not pricey enough). On top of that, an operator kindly suggested to select a US based delivery address so that the delivery cost was minimal if I did not care about the hard-copy. When I did so, the payment method kept erroring out, but my credit card was still charged, so all my funds were blocked. They do not understand that a 3 and a 4 year degree can lead to the same outcomes in different countries and that in Germany many degrees are only 3 years and qualify you for a master's. Other agencies acknowledge this situation and qualify you for a master's degree. read more
