Like many Catholic charities a much higher percentage of your donation money gets to the truly needy than other non-profits. Many of the charities that are most convenient to donate to through work, because of the money and resources the organizations employ to be convenient for you to donate directly out of your paycheck at work, have much higher overhead costs. Remember in the early '90s when it became too dangerous for the United States Marines to stay in civil war-torn Liberia? Some American nuns stayed behind and paid with their lives. This order does good work for justice and peace in some of the most dangerous and poverty stricken parts of the world. I don't believe in their God, but I do know that their faith leads them to courageous and commendable work. The nuns here are at the retirement stage of their service. The main old building of this convent and the grounds are historic and beautiful. Without an appointment you can enjoy the grounds, there's a lovely little grotto, but try to get in here on a tour or during open house as it's pretty interesting.

My first review of 2021 goes to...ECE…read more I had the most pleasant experience with ECE, their service was super fast, professional and made my life so easy. I was referred to ECE by the ADA actually the ADA only accepts your transcripts if they are evaluated by ECE, the process was stress free. I submitted my application on 12/14/20 and I was required to scan and email some of my documents and mail through FEDEX my transcripts in order to get evaluated. I had a lot of questions...and even though they do not take phone calls at the moment, they are available via chat, Ben was awesome and super helpful. I mailed my transcripts on 12/15/20 and by 12/23/20 the ADA emailed me to let me know that they had received my documents and everything was good to go. So the process really only took 8 days, not to mention they kept me informed every step of the way and you can also login to your account to see the status of your file. 3 days later I received via FedEx my original documents and also a sealed Evaluation Report. Price: $185.00, which included the Evaluation & Translation of my documents, electronic delivery to the ADA and an Evaluation Report for my records. I'm so happy with their service. My university deadline has already passed because I have been unable to get a clear update regarding my evaluation. I have repeatedly contacted ECE and have not been given any specific information or a resolution. During my chat today, I explained that this delay has already affected my ability to start university this year. Instead of escalating the issue or allowing me to continue the conversation, the representative ended the chat. I find this extremely inappropriate, particularly given the seriousness and time-sensitive nature of my situation. Please escalate my case to a supervisor or manager and provide me with a concrete status update on my evaluation, including when it will be completed.

Prior to high school, I was an MPS, and then a WAWM public school student. DSHA is such a positive world of difference compared to public schools. The teachers at DSHA truly care about the girls, ALL of the girls. They expect excellence because they know you are capable of excellence. They truly care, and want to see you do well. This is not just a "paycheck" for them. The academics are stellar with an abundance of AP courses offered. How many high schools can say not only did 100% of students graduate, but were ALSO accepted into 4-year universities? Very few. DSHA has a fantastic athletic program as well with quite a few championships. Many athletes are student scholars. Lastly, DSHA is a school centered around the Catholic faith with theology classes, retreats, and service opportunities. A student does not have to be Catholic though to attend as there are students of Jewish, Muslim, and Protestant faiths. DSHA transforms girls in to strong, confident, well-rounded, educated young ladies ready to take on the world! A DSHA grad is a force to be reckoned with. Please do not take my word for it though.
