Ed and his employees never recommend unnecessary replacement. They run an honest business.

Work. Truck. Then, they gave me a quote on parts at at least a 5X markup on the retail price, claiming "we only use OEM for Ford." I showed the manager the OEM part for I needed around $100 online. He just bullshitted and bullshitted, then told my 87-year old mother (my ride that day) he'd be happy to do business with her anytime but not me. What? When I slammed my hand on the counter, which was louder than I expected, they called the sheriff. I was simply a disgruntled customer. Three police cars showed up, each of them wondering why the hell they got a phone call. Meanwhile, this manager would not release my vehicle until I paid $379.90 for their "assessment." I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH MALFEASANCE. I am ashamed this business calls itself Christian Brothers. I hope everyone reads this interview and that manager gets replaced. They blew me off for 5-days during my work week, then did the shoddiest of assessments, held my truck captive, took zero responsibility, and called the police on me. I'm not kidding. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS LOCATION. Negligent Service & Zero Accountability…read more I am extremely disappointed with this Take 5 location. This was my third time using them, but it will absolutely be my last. Their negligence caused immediate mechanical issues with my car (2023 Nissan Altima SL), and management has completely refused to take responsibility. The Incident During my third visit for a routine oil change, the technicians pulled out my air filter and suggested it be replaced. I agreed. Within 20 minutes of driving away, my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with warning lights: Check Engine, System Malfunction, ABS, and slip indicators. The Immediate Response & Lack of Knowledge I drove right back to the shop. The technicians clearly did not know what they were doing. * They checked the air filter again and had me rev my engine to 5 RPMs multiple times, which didn't fix it. * I saw a P0101 code on their OBD reader. When I asked about it, they ignored me. * The tech eventually admitted, "I don't know, it could be a sensor," and implied someone else caused it. I reminded him that they were the only ones who had opened my hood. * After speaking to his District Manager, the tech told me it "couldn't be anything serious" and told me to just drive it away, handing me his personal cell number. The Real Diagnosis Uncomfortable with their guesswork, I took my car to a certified Nissan Dealership. Their diagnostic found exactly what went wrong: Debris from the old filter contaminated the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor during Take 5's replacement, causing it to misread and trigger the system-wide dashboard alerts. Nissan had to pull the sensor, clean it, and reset the codes--leaving me with an unexpected $200 bill. The Claims Runaround When I opened a customer support claim, the local manager didn't even contact me until Day 6. * When I told him Nissan had to fix their mistake, his only response was a dismissive, "And they charged you for that?" * The next morning, he claimed corporate "didn't receive" my emailed receipts and asked me to send them directly to him. * Just hours after sending them, I received a flat denial letter claiming it wasn't their fault that debris from the old filter caused the sensor to misread. Final Verdict Their technician's sloppy handling of my air filter directly caused a sensor failure, and Take 5 used bureaucratic delays just to deny my claim and avoid paying a $200 bill. I have appealed their decision, but I am also filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). If you value your vehicle and expect a company to stand behind their work, DO NOT take your car here.

That was two weeks ago...I have yet to receive my refund. What I did receive when I went back a week later was the run around AND was questioned as to how I noticed the excessive charge?!?!? I was asked 'did your bank call you?' I sat at the location close to an hour waiting on the service tech to contact his area manager as he (the service tech) appeared to push buttons on the ccard machine (even suggesting my card was invalid..lol), to no avail. PER THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY (DPS) - THE MAXIMUM STATION FEE FOR A SAFETY & EMISSIONS INSPECTION IS $18.50. SOUNDS LIKE AN ILLEGAL PRACTICE!!!!!!! I see a report ANDDDD complaint to the county tax office AND DPS loading....

7 3 2025 Update…read more I've been taking my vehicle to Valvoline probably my 10th to 15th trip now and I did not find out recently until last visit that they've been putting 0 to 20 weight in my vehicle when my Vehicles specifications are 0 to 50 weight oil. It even says it on Google and when I inquired the employee about this, he said that their computers states they are required 0 to 20 weight oil but it doesn't make sense (He even showed me). I asked him if there was an extra charge for an upgrade or something so I could make it right and he said no, so why wouldn't they put the recommended oil in a BMW so the engine isn't damaged in the long run? I used to always be happy with Valvoline and I've always taken my vehicle is there but I think it's time to make a change Update 7 3 2025

Bays were empty when I pulled in and the team began descending on my vehicle. This time it was evident they were training one or more new staff. Not a biggie until I see them spending an inordinate amount of time on what appeared to be putting a screw/bolt back in. Never bothered telling me what they were doing, but the struggle under my hood was something to see. Now, I get that oil change places are like movie theaters in that they make a ton more $$ on up-selling accessories than they do the oil changes. What I didn't get is that 3 different people needed to be messing with my BRAND NEW wiper blades with your greasy hands. I finally had to roll down a passenger window to get the nonsense to stop. The $60 quote for my cabin air filter was hilarious! I took 60 seconds to go ahead and order a name brand one off Amazon for 1/3 that price. Do you want us to put air in your tires? No, they read at the exact pressure they're supposed to be, as shown on your report?? Manager appeared irritated that I pulled out my coupon at the end (maybe he just looks that way), but given that I'd had it sitting in the phone the whole time and nobody had ever asked for it? All-in-all a much slower experience than usual combined with a hope that they didn't unbolt something important under my hood.
