Upon arrival, the woman who "greeted me" for lack of better words was clearly not without judgement. I arrived looking for all the world like the tourist I am (leggings and sneakers, a camera and a shopping bag). Unless there is a strict policy here, I think staff should do a better job of hiding their judgement. I am thankful o report that every staff member thereafter was fantastic. All polite, attentive and nonjudgmental. The food was also superb. The lobster was one of the most well prepared I've ever had. I cannot say I'd dine here again but I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a more pretentious dining experience.

A combination restaurant / 19th watering hole, the pub was a joyful sanctuary a few mere paces from the main building. Food and drink were satisfying if not a little on the high side but to be expected and in line with similar resort prices. The crisp, moist and un-greasy fish n' chips were filling while the kicked-up bar snacks, ales, pilsners, stouts and lagers all hit the spot. An added perk is they have 3D TV w/ free glasses. Kudos to the staff that was very accommodating and friendly to our "Viking" clan considering we always kept them open past their posted time of closure which we found strange that most pubs seem to close down at 11:00 p.m. So all in all, thank you Stables for warding off cabin fever and helping us from going stir crazy ...Cheers!

I get that the idea for them, at least, is so make you sit around so you spend more money (great business plan), but four hours to play two games... The chilli cheese dog was awful, red in skin so closer to a savaloy, and the chili wasn't great. I ordered a 2 pint stein, of which they'd apparently run out of yet hadn't mentioned it to me and then served two single pints. Tater tots were decent though. All in all, I like the idea and it's great fun but waiting around that long, alongside the prices of drinks (pretty much London prices) such as 6.20 or so for a pint, plus terrible food, isn't s great experience. *Updated review* We went back as some friends were down and it was an even worse experience and we'll never be back. Pushy service which we then noticed service charges - it's not a posh upscale restaurant, how can you justify a service charge? The food again was average to bad, spicy Mac and cheese was awful and not spicy, tater tots were lukewarm and soggy, wings were fine but not listed as spicy (they are slightly), the burger my friend got was poor and dry. To add to this, they didn't clean and take away plates and glasses for over an hour. We then proceeded to wait 4 and a half hours before getting into a lane, along the way, we got to 1 at in the queue where we waited 45 minutes and saw numerous people go ahead who were further back in the queue... All because they had kids. I don't think breaking the rules because people choose to bring kids down late on a Saturday is very fair on the people who've been there since before 4pm, it was 8.30pm at this point. I was told (which I knew) if you want to get in quicker, book a slot, but that comes at a cost of £39.99, and that doesn't include any games, food or drinks. I then had security speak with me as I was getting agitated and say, well I'm here to 3AM, after I said we'd been there since before 4pm. Honestly, that's not a great response and insulting. You chose this job, not me, it's not my problem you're there until 3am, if you're unhappy, change jobs? Literally, it's nothing like this at the one I'm Las Vegas which I've visited numerous times now. I would avoid this place like the plague, unless you like wasting money and valuable hours of your life. We'll never be back.

I would definitely consider coming back. However there are some downsides which leads me to give Topgolf only three stars: - the wait: we came on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait 4 1/2 hours. 4 and a half hours!!! Since we pre-paid our session and there was a sports-bar showing football, we waited but really... - the food: the menu looks super attractive since I am a big fan of traditional American sports bar food (wings, burgers, nachos). However, all the dishes we had were mediocre at best. Even something simple as loaded nachos were just meh. - the service: the service in their bar was extremely slow, I guess we had plenty of time but the staff was also unaware of the menu. I asked for a Peroni beer and even pointing at it on the menu was not sufficient for the waitress, she asked me to spell it for her sjeesh. So bottomline, the main attraction: the driving range is super fun and good entertainment but the bar is below par (pun intended hehe).

I came here for dinner with 2 colleagues on a Wednesday evening while working in the area. The…read morerestaurant is in town, around many other restaurants and shops. The place was pretty empty the night we came, and it looked pretty empty the night before as well, when we walked past after dining at another restaurant nearby. However, there is a lot of seating inside the restaurant, including what looked like an upstairs seating area, as well as some tables outside, so it's possible it gets busier on weekends. The menu had a pretty large selection of burgers, chicken dishes, hot dogs, and even steaks and salads. There was also an enticing page of desserts, including milkshakes, cheesecakes, and sundaes. The mains came with a choice of side (salad, fries, mashed potatoes) and dipping sauce (garlic mayo, barbecue sauce, among others). I got the classic burger on a brioche bun with fries and garlic mayo. The burger was topped with the Tinsel Town sauce, which was tasty. However, the brioche bun was too dry/hard for my liking. The fries were fine. One of my coworkers got the cheese dog, which was really massive. It had some tomato slices tucked in. She wound up not being able to finish it; apparently it was a bit stodgy and might have been more manageable if it had been a frankfurter or something. She also got the halloumi appetizer with sweet chili sauce, which she really enjoyed. I got a brownie sundae for dessert. It was topped with a massive amount of whipped cream, but I would have preferred for it to have had a bit more ice cream underneath. The brownie chunks were tasty, though. One of my coworkers got the Kinder Bueno milkshake and said it tasted exactly like a Kinder Bueno. Service was pretty slow, especially given there were so few customers at the time. It took the server awhile to split the check, since she couldn't seem to remember who got what and had to redo the split a few times. It probably would have been easier to just get 1 check and divide it ourselves. The restaurant card reader did not accept my American debit card (which I historically have not had issues using abroad, in places as diverse as Bangkok and Stockholm). Thankfully, there is an ATM nearby and the server was patient and apologetic about me needing to step out to get cash. Overall, a very average dinner, but good if you're craving a milkshake and some fries. My burger and dessert came out to be about £13.

Been to an early evening showing of a film and come out hungry, wanting to go and…read more eat somewhere rather than go home and say "well, what do you fancy?" Parking is always an issue because my husband has a blue badge and as we'd never been to the Elstree Village and knew there'd be parking, thought it would be worth an investigation. Of the two eateries, the Italian BUCA DI BEPPO is very expensive and, frankly, there's not much on the menu for vegetarians which is surprising because other Italian restaurants have a good selection. In addition, their mains were pricey at around £15 so that was definitely out. I went to view the pub's menu which, again, didn't have a great choice. For us there was a choice of a fish burger, lentil and sweet potato (yuk) burger or fish and chips. Against my better judgement we ended up both having the fish and chips, having checked to find out what white fish it was a the menu fails to advise you that it's pollock but it could be any fish depending upon what they can get for a good price, I reckon. We both had fish and chips (swapping the mushy peas for real peas!) and the fish and chips comes in a big box with the fish piled on top of the thin chips. I'm not a lover of the American style think chips for me, the chunkier the better! However, the chips weren't bad, considering. The fish was hot but it was a huge portion. Honestly, we could've shared one between us and actually we both ended up leaving some! It's not a bad venue aside from the extremely LOUD music which, when asked, did get turned down by our server only very slightly, though. Most people in there were having to shout to be heard having their conversations it seemed. I always thought the music was meant to be in the background, not deafening the diners! It's not a bad venue for those that can eat anything on the menu. It was reasonably comfortable aside, from the music and the enormous screen with the sound turned off on which Sky Sports was showing a darts match but no one was watching it! Probably the reason our table was empty was because it was so near to that screen, it was rather overwhelming. I doubt I'll have any reason to return to this pub any time soon.
