This review is for the High Level Bridge Street Car tour only. It is an hour of your night stepping back in time in this beautifully restored street car! The street car is beyond gorgeous. It's cozy. It's heated too. I was able to bring my latte with me when I walked up into this time capsule. The tour departs right on time. Parking was plentiful right on Calgary Trail - and we had free street parking! The tour starts with loading passengers onto the trolley from an alley. There was no covered space in case it rains. Some points to consider. For an hour long tour, 40 dollars was steep. But I get it. It is an intimate setting and there is only one trolley! I've been to lots of different ghost tours in lots of different cities. This particular ghost tour was not exciting. If this tour was a walking tour I would be disappointed. If you are afraid of heights, this tour is not for you. You park right on the center of the high level bridge for a very long time! The views were fantastic. I learned a lot about Edmontonian history. I crossed riding the trolley off my Edmonton bucket list.

The Edmonton Ghost Tour around the university was so fascinating! I was suprised by the fact that I learned more about history in general, than ghosts, haha. I learned so much! Nadine would teach us the history of a building on campus, or about a particular person, and after an epic story, we'd learn about the ghostly connection. My favorite story was about Emily Murphy's house, and Mary Macdonald's brothel. Both women were huge in Edmonton's history, and thanks to this tour, I learned more about their lives. Heck, thanks to the ghost tour, I even learned why Edmonton is the capital. I'd highly recommend this tour to history buffs, ghost lovers, and people who want an entertaining walk that will teach them more about the amazing city of Edmonton

I love how the city lights it up with different colours for different celebrations - red for Canada Day, rainbow for Pride week, etc. Driving it can be a bit dicey but it still gets the job done and is over 100 years old! If you've never checked out the streetcar for fun, you need to plan for it this summer! Perfect addition to an afternoon at the Strathcona Farmer's Market! Cool details from the Wiki page on it: The High Level Bridge is a bridge that spans the North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Located next to the Alberta Legislature Building, the bridge linked the separate communities of Edmonton and Strathcona, which became one city in 1912. It was designed from the outset to accommodate rail, streetcar, automobile and pedestrian traffic. The bridge was designated a Municipal Historic Resource in 1995. The Canadian Pacific Railway, responsible for the design of the bridge, ceased rail operations over the span in 1989. The upper deck contains only one track now, which is currently used only by the High Level Bridge Streetcar, a historic streetcar route that travels from the Strathcona Streetcar Barn & Museum, just north of the Strathcona Farmers Market, in Old Strathcona, to Jasper Plaza south of Jasper Avenue, between 109 Street and 110 Street, in downtown, with three intermediate stops.

The Core Crew are a group of young adults who take you for a tour for about an hour and half within the downtown. We went on the last tour of the summer, and there was a great turnout of about 30 people who also had the same idea. Most were locals but there were visitors as well. The group met just north of Jasper Avenue for the 1PM tour start. We made our way walking down 104 Street and then headed East from there. Then north towards City Hall before back south to the Shaw. Along the way, the crew took turns sharing interesting information about historic buildings and the river valley. They seemed enthusiastic about their job and we even had Smudge, the Fairmont's canine ambassador, join us for the first half of our tour. At the end of the tour, some of the people dropped out along the way which was fine with the Crew. We were given surveys to complete with a chance to win a prize from a downtown vendor, cool! The tour is great for visitors and newcomers but also as a local, I learned some interesting tidbits about our city. If you check it out next summer, wear comfortable walking shoes. Our tour ran over the 90 minutes and was about an hour and 45 minutes.
